  1. OK, the (hopefully) finalised line-up looks like: Rapunzel Wizard Mistaken Subkicks (ska from Inverurie) One True Onion The Holy Folks Crashdown The Hijacks
  2. Due to circumstances which are of no fault of our own the ska trek gigs in Scotland have been cancelled. There was a mix-up with the gig in Arbroath and the bands couldn't come up for just one gig in Aberdeen. We're really sorry to disappoint people and trust us, we know how you feel! We're getting another gig lined up to replace the show, the line-up at the moment looks something like: The Hijacks Escape to Victory The Holy Folks One True Onion (Onion Terror solo accoustic) Rapunzel Wizard and this shall be costing just 2 little pounds. This line-up might change as we've just started putting it together this afternoon. Thanks
  3. Skapunzel Wizard (hohoho) will also be making an appearance at the start of the night (probably just before 8) so get down early!
  4. one night we spent about 5 hours writing ska puns on scottish ska sampler cds. has anyone got one of those cds? i want to here some of the crap written on them. my favourite was: "Skandhi, what do you think of third wave ska?" "I think it would be a good idea"
  5. sorry, that should have been gfncollective@hotmail.co.uk that must be the reason why there hasn't been huge amounts of emails from people saying they would review the gig...
  6. hey, zine no.3 is now available at Good For Nothing? Records website. there are interviews with Oi Polloi, Grown at Home, Elki, The Hijacks, as well a piece on climate camp, and the usual reviews and features. oh ye, and a crossword (ideal for doing on a computer) let us know what you think, cheers! gfnrecords.t83.net
  7. if anyone wants to review the gig for the next gfn? zine that'd be cool, just speak to one of us on the door or give us a message beforehand (myspace.com/gfnrecords or gfncollective@hotmail.com). zine 3 is now online here
  8. i'll have u know camie that we're not ex-upstarts; but very much still upstarts (well 3 of us) and hijackers. maybe u mis-typed and meant to write sex-upstarts?? or ex-prostitutes?
  9. awesome, the fractions sound like their goona be great, and it'll be ace to see the kimberly steaks with their full band this time.
  10. yup, shall be fun. i also have some copies of issue number 3 of gfn? zine to sell for the princely sum of 1 each, and this ones even got a crossword!
  11. good for nothing? zine number 3 is now printed and ready to sell by the pocket-load. we should also have brand new hijack's stickers and 'UK punks volume 1' compilation with loads of great bands on it which was just released a few weeks ago.
  12. Unfortunately Dead Identities have had to pull out of this show - but the great Bud Hoskins will now be headlining - www.myspace.com/budhoskins
  13. ye, good one. well we'll be sure to make the next issue much more pessimistic and hopefully a little more right-wing.
  14. ye, this should be awesome, can't wait. do we have some djs lined up for this?
  15. yo, please check out issue 2 of our zine here and let us know what you think. constructive criticism and lavish praise are both welcome. cheers
  16. ye, they've got some cool new stuff and steve said they were awesome when he saw them in dundee a few weeks ago. will be cool to play with them again. if anyone wants to help us carry amps and stuff come down to the east neuk at half 5, you know you want to!
  17. unfortunately crashdown have had to pull out from the gig, but it should still be really good and loads of fun, plus we're giving out FREE flyers for our next two gigs. maybe rapunzel wizard will do a poem or two for us as he said he'd probably be there.
  18. the east neuk really is the venue for people who demand a better class of establishment, it oozes a sense of luxury and style that most venues can only dream of (if venues do dream that is). i think state of affairs will be really good in the neuk tho, should be a good night, especially because my exams will be done and i'm going to get very-to-excessively drunk nothing says celebration like a very big owl (i know that's a bat, but it does have wings)
  19. wow, looks like no ones gonna pull out of this one, fingers crossed. altho maltman said he was up for doing his naked, solo act so maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing. looks like the hostiles might be making the big time soon what with all the tours they're on at the moment. people should take the chance to see them before they get all rock-starry and speak in an american accent
  20. yep, can't wait for this, should be ace! i missed fandangle when they played at the east neuk, so looking forward to them. Root system sound good and look like they'll be a lot of fun on stage. Always good to see the hostiles, and i can't wait to play with the hijacks.
  21. Although probably no one cares: you can get your hands on a limited edition copy of ISSUE 2 of the Good for Nothing? zine, featuring interviews with The King Blues, Pickled Dick and The Mad Conductor, as well as some some opiniony type pieces, CD and gig reviews, Rapunzel's Crusty Corner, and last but not least 'Have I got Loos for you'. All for 50 pence which is cheaper than a can of irn bru and containing less sugar, lowering your chances of diabetes and uneven energy levels - everyone's a winner
