  1. ...just read somewhere that there is a Lemon Tree date on 25th Oct... definately confirmed?!
  2. STAND-UP GUY Arkade Projects are pleased to be hosting the return of Stand Up Guy to Aberdeen...because of the short notice this show will take place at Captain Toms (which the band are delighted to be doing!) usual applies...DONATIONS AT DOOR AND BYOB!! '4 piece noisecore band from Belfast. Formed in 2001, Stand-Up Guy have toured & played with the likes of Medulla Nocte, Darkest Hour, Palehorse, Cyclefly as well as touring Scotland twice over. Two CDs so far, both earning rave reviews in local & national press. Influenced by the likes of Neurosis, Will Haven, Isis, Tool & earthtone9.' 'Rising from the remnants of Shake-down, SUG have created an excellent local reputation with their atmospheric noise-core. Wonderfully horrific twin vocals and clever use of texture and space create a healthy recipe for ear damage. in 2002, 'Immobliare' came and left its sizable mark. The band's enviable ability in fusing melancholy with earth moving weight has seen some truly immersive live performances over the last three years, and with a UK tour support slot to Murder One under their belts as well as a Scandanavian jaunt with The Dagda, this band is at an all time high. Their debut album, "In Fixation, Conspire" was launched as the debut venture for Distortion Project Records: This band is headed for big things...as we always knew' support from SKYPILOT ( more info when i get it) local support tbc also
  3. just helping Donny out here by posting this...End of Everything have had to pull out of tonights show but as luck may have it epic american doom metallers ASVA are able and willing to step in and play instead! they played Stereo in glasgow last night...and they crushed!! here's a bit of info on them...The Tunnels wont know whats hit them!! 'As heavy music pedigrees go, Asva's is hard to top. The band's growing list of contributors includes veterans of dirge-metal titans Earth as well as rock experimentalists Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, and the Master Musicians of Bukkake, and that's only scratching the surface of their resums. (Geographically they're spread along the West Coast). Then again, all-star bands are a dime a dozen in this era of underground avant-gardists, and Asva aren't just some ad hoc vanity project. Core members G. Stuart Dahlquist and B.R.A.D. Mowen, on bass and drums, respectively, have been playing together for nearly a decade, going back to their days in the fearsome cult-creators Burning Witch. They've called the remaining Asva members--who on this tour include guitarists John Schuller, Dan LaRochelle, and Trey Spruance; organist Troy Swanson; and vocalist Jessika Kenney--to flesh out their gaping, skeletal song structures, and so far, their casting has been impeccable. Asva's music is not your run-of-the-mill doom metal, with Spruance's Morricone-style guitar twang, Swanson's woozy organ, and Kenney's wordless vocals adding a ghostly Old West feel to the sludge-and-trudge foundation, an unexpected mix that works. Not that anyone was expecting rehashed Black Sabbath riffs from Dahlquist and Mowen, whose old bandmate, guitarist Stephen O'Malley, went on to cofound Khanate and Sunn O)))--two acts that have helped drag doom metal into the realm of pure sound. Consider Asva the more cinematic counterpart to Khanate's agonizing, claustrophobic aesthetic. And remember to bring earplugs to the show: Just because they're "cinematic" doesn't mean that their sheer heft is movie-theater appropriate. DOORS 8PM

  6. seems they all have kinda well known fathers, in one way or another...
  7. **NEW ALBUM!** from Load Records site.... the USA Is A Monster Wohaw LOAD 076 dbl-LP/CD LP ships 9/11!! When a record drops from the sky this fully formed and perfect, workers look up from the assembly line and smile. Conceived of as a double-LP, this record shakes furiously and lies down gently as it was recorded on mountain tops and a riot torn Michigan town. This release tells tales of lost nations and subjugated races and uses all means necessary in the rock arsenal ... from flat-lined acoustica to frothing rockulism. The question really is this: are you ready to look in the mirror and let this into your earholes? Its been almost 2 years since they released Tasheyana Compost, their last record on Load, and the game has been stepped up immensely. Songs are as dense as malachite - complex like an infinite layered onion. Moods on this double LP go from quiet campfire drone to suntan lotion slippery cortex massagings of Pheonix all-star Meat Puppetry. Slather on as needed. Name brand spotters will compare it to bearded/pointy headed legends like MAGMA and the INCREDIBLE STRING BAND while more intelligent folks will just say Wake the Fuck Up, its 2005. You have your orders, Wohaw.
