  1. Yo Scott, we're gona have a table/stall stocking whatever bands merch they want, so if u want us to sell any 5FD or Mutiny/Constant Static stuff we'd be more than happy to. If u check GFN?'s myspace page there's info on the current distro there in a blog. We'l also have Dundee's 'Make That A Take Records' Samplers and 'Here's 3 Chords..' with over 30 bands on it including the King Blues. On top of that, we're soon to be getting 'UK Punks Volume 1', from EHC + Pumpkin Records (which there is an ad on the upstarts myspace page for) and we hope to just expand from there!
  2. Unfortunately the catnips have had to pull out Apologies, so we'l just run it with the 3 bands left getting longer sets, first band on around half 8. Still, 3 amazing bands for only 3! Shall be a a great night... www.myspace.com/contrarock www.myspace.com/shortnoticerock www.myspace.com/thedangerfields

  4. THE DANGERFIELDS www.myspace.com/thedangerfields "BORN TO ROCK" Dangerfields debut album Born To Rock slams a crushing shot of primal rock 'n' roll fury into the veins of a music scene desperately in need of a return to the fundamentals of the art. Born To Rock swaggers like Bon-era AC/DC, slashes like Slayer and kicks the fucking door in like Motrhead: this is the real deal. Evolving over the course of 700 shows, the Belfast band have honed their live craft with a series of tours across the UK, Ireland and Europe, breathing fire down the necks of a host of legendary headliners including Misfits, Marky Ramone, Less Than Jake, Flogging Molly, Nashville Pussy, Supersuckers, Zeke, Life Of Agony, Stiff Little Fingers, The Damned, The Exploited, D.R.I., Poison Idea and Agnostic Front. The power trio have also shown massive crossover appeal, performing on Irish festival bills with the likes of Snow Patrol and Editors, winning over hundreds of young converts to the rock cause. Of their Tennent's Vital 06 performance, the BBC had this to say: "Honed and muscular, the hardest working punk rock band in Ireland have not sacrificed the raw edge for tightness. 'Come and hear some real rock 'n' roll' they dare a crowd possibly making a first time punk rock gamble – they are richly rewarded. There is no erection section here. Smooch elsewhere, lovers, this is where you go to get your kicks." Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson is a huge fan, first selecting the Dangerfields to open for Therapy? and Funeral For A Friend at his BBC 6 Music roadshow, then bringing the guys into the studio for a full interview and Born To Rock preview. Ditto Radio 1's Mike Davies, who playlisted album opener Voodoo Doll on his rock show, and the Across The Line team in N. Ireland, who commissioned an exclusive four song studio session. Born To Rock continues to garner rave reviews in magazines, fanzines and webzines across the world. The Dangerfields have been a self-sustaining, continually touring entity for five years: living on the road, paying their dues and in the process shifting thousands of albums and t-shirts. The time has come to take it to the next level. Get Born to Rock on your stereo, turn it up to 11 and join the believers. 5. THE KIMBERLY STEAKS Are a 3 piece pop-punk band from Larkhall, reminiscent of early Green Day, Fifteen, Crimpshrine, Osker and Jawbreaker. They've shared the stage with the likes of The Filaments, The Mingers, Freaks Union, Bosseye, Sonic Boom Six + more and have plenty of new releases coming up, including a split with the Dangerfields on Day Job Records. www.myspace.com/thekimberlysteaks MY OWN RELIGION Are a four piece, ska-metal-core punk band from Glasgow/Edinburgh Scotland. The band first formed in 2001 and spent two years playing gigs across Scotland, alongside bands such as Leftover Crack, Antimaniax, Big D and the Kids Table, The foamers, Five Knuckle and The Filaments, among others, embarking on the Buckfest tour with bretheren band Misled Youth, before spontaneously imploding in the later months of 2003. During these two years the band recorded a demo cd, "Honk if you love Satan" and a 9 track EP " Even The Score", tracks from which appeared on the "Riot Ska" and "Punk Rock Scotland" compilations. After a two year hiatus the band have reformed in 2006 with new vigour and enthusiasm. www.myspace.com/myownreligion MUTLEY Are an impressive 3 piece punk band from Dumbarton, who have been together for about 4 years playing loads of gigs in their local area supporting bands such as G.B.H, Total Chaos and many more. www.myspace.com/mutley + Local support from JOHNNY SKYCRAPER playing loads of your favourite punk rock covers! www.myspace.com/johnnyskyscraper

  13. Hey, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any music videos/starter titles etc. that are similar to the videos listed below, as I'm trying to build up a heap of research for a music video im making at uni.. Bad Religion - Los Angeles is Burning The Hives - Main Offender Anti-Flag - Death Of A Nation If u can't access those videos, then basically they are all combining live footage composited on different animated backgrounds, and vice versa, with various animation and stop motion techniques involved. Thanks a lot for your time, any help would be greatly appreciated!! Steve

  15. PICKLED DICK "It may just be me, but I swear Pickled Dick get better with every passing release. Infact I'd go as far as saying they're one of the best pop-punk bands in the UK right now. PD, despite having one of the worst band names around, manage to make every single song as memorable as any chart hits, soaking their tracks in melody with the best backing vocals and harmonies of any band in this country. They just have this incredible knack to leave you humming songs for hours on end - the perfect compliment I could ever give a pop-punk band." Punkastic.com http://www.myspace.com/pickleddick http://www.purevolume.com/pickleddick State Of Affairs "One thing is for sure if State of Affairs are not playing better slots in the future, something is wrong with the music industry. They play an incredibly infectious mix of indie tinged punk, and were tight, with a genuine vibrance that shined throughout the performance. Songs such as Youre Not Listening, Disengage and Confront Your Fear may only give a brief glimpse of what they are capable of, but have a quality that rewards repeat listens. State of Affairs see them now, youll be paying a lot more to see them later." www.egigs.co.uk http://www.myspace.com/stateofaffairsrock Captain Kate 'Pirate-ska, punk rock n roll' from Glasgow http://www.myspace.com/captainkateuk Crashdown Local pop-punksters who are "looking forward to an exciting year with a new cd on the way in Spring and a summer tour heading your way!" http://www.myspace.com/crashdown
  16. When we were on tour last summer we had a night off in newcastle, so we went into some venues to see if there was any space for an opener. The second place we went to was a pub across from that big 'life' centre, called the 'dog and parrot' and we managed to get on this bill with 5 other bands..but then later that night, 2 of the bands pulled out/didn't turn up and 1 band were under 18 and not aloud to play, so we ended up kinda headlining this gig, haha! It was a pretty decent venue, upstairs where u play, think it was called the cedar room.. Also ye, out of all the places we were in the UK sunderland was by far the worst city we'd visited, but the gig was pretty good! In a place called 'the borough' right in the center, so if u still wana go its worth checking out!
  17. We played with them back in Drakes and they were fukin amazing live! They're just like really gritty melodic punk rock.. www.myspace.com/stuntface
