My listening process of Animal Collective normally goes something like this... 1st listen - What the hell just happened? 2nd listen - Ah, ok. It was a song, by a band. 3rd listen - Hmm, this is pretty cool actually...! 4th listen - FUCK, WHY ARE THERE ONLY 9 TRACKS ON THIS ALBUM!!!??? Strawberry Jam doesn't disappoint, the progression into more electronic based music puts a whole new spin on The Animal Collective's unique sound. As you'd expect the album is full of the most brilliantly weird melodies you'll ever hear which take a while to grow on you but are worth the wait. Listening to this album has made me fall in love with the band all over again. Thank god for The Animal Collective. Highlights include tracks 1,2,3,4,5,7,8 and 9. 6 is just a loop with a deep voice speaking over it, I haven't quite got it yet. Sorry, I'm not very good about writing about stuff. You should get this album though.
