I love it, I'm re-reading it because it's one of my favourite series.

Running with Scissors - Augusten Burroughs

My friend sent me this for Christmas, highly recommended. However so far I don't like it, just find the style crappy, forced and unpleasant to read. But I'll finish it anyway.

This is the only one of my reading list that I really liked before starting to study it, even though everyone else hates it because he's a pussy and writes too much description. The stuff about reality/dreams is interesting and he can be pretty funny at times too.

I only got a friendly card from someone and a reference from the Bursar _ But then again I wasn't expecting anything. I made my 'desired' a card that was jokey enough that it could count as a joke and filled with glitter, but that contained a real sentiment. He didn't mention it at dinner (well, there were loads of people there) but he did smile at me in a cute way.

My latest dream was that two of my friends asked me who were the first three guys to have been credited with the discovery of electromagnetic waves AND died by decapitation. So I said Maxwell and the Marconi and then I couldn't think of anyone else. I thought it was just a casual question but next thing I knew they started trying to kill my dad with a crowbar "because it's our bread and butter weapon on Unreal Tournament!" I got it off them and threw it down the drain and my dad was angry because he could have died and why hadn't I given him the crowbar? For some reason everyone else in the street just let us be.

The bit you mentioned wasn't rocket science but look! - they made a formula and everything! What is that.. delta.. thing for?

There's nothing to lose in trying it for a bit. Anyway, if people don't want to read them, they don't have to. And although you said it would be okay to be more personal 'journals', if people are more into that type, they're likely to put them on myspace or whatever they use rather than here so it should stay closer to music-based here.

After dropping many mentions of the Children of Nuggets Boxset to my parents before Christmas, I still didn't get it so I got it myself.

Also nicked three Symphony X albums and one Finntroll album off someone's computer at uni, they're growing on me nicely.

Find some more friends at uni who like even vaguely decent music and occasionally consider going to gigs instead of clubs ¬_¬

Maintain a skincare routine

Oh and maybe try to get a slot on the uni radio station when I start second year (and convince people to listen to it)
