Tomorrow, thousands of mindless consumers will eat in burgerking/mcdonalds/subway/kfc etc because "its easy" "its convenient" and "they like it". They will shovel an unhealthy, tasteless and unethically produced amalgam of sugars, fats, carbohydrates and protein into their mouths, past their desensitised tastebuds which perhaps have never been exposed to anything other than this kind of filth, and they will *enjoy it*.
Many of these thoughtless, uncultured robots will then proceed to pay for cinema tickets and go and watch the new batman film, their experience augmented with even more mass produced unhealthy junk food. They will come out declaring it to be the best film they've ever seen, and bask in an existentially reassuring sense of one-ness with millions of other mindless philistines as they discuss the deeper parts of the film such as "did u see when he killed da bad dude, that was bare funny" and "yea did u check her tits in that catsuit man!".
The same thing will happen again and again and again for months on end as each of these tasteless, pointless chunks of entertainment protein get hyped, released, and exploited. Fair enough if you derive pleasure from eating (metaphorically speaking) shit, it's the way you act as if it's normal, as if there is an excuse for propping up these industries that degrade humanity to such an awful extent, that I find so offensive.
..and you will be sitting on here, where you always are in the evenings. To have your life.
Will head along to see this at some point. Won't hit any fast food outlets before hand but may cave in to the peanut M&M's.

feck knows mate, not going.
They're playing Aberdeen again tho in Sept - so i've been informed!
-
I've yet to see this war zone that Aberdeen turns into at 3am on Saturday night! I've walked from the centre of town after a night out to BoD many a time and haven't had any more hassle than friendly banter!

Right folks....not gonna lie to you im as mainstream as it gets in music taste.
anyone got a lesser band that i may not have heard of that i should check out this weekend?
And not State of the Affairs cause we actually played with them last year and i thought they were shit..
Im open for suggestions...
Frightened Rabbit, MGMT, British Sea Power, My Morning Jacket, Holy Fuck, The Hold Steady, The National.......some small, some not so small, all worth going to, all in tents, thats where the best gigs are, right?
-

1. Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight
2. Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours
3. iForward Russia! - Life Processes

Just out of interest and approximate costs....how much would it cost to put on a band of their size up here and what are the usual demands??
-
Where are you heading Stripey?
Mind your own business you ignorant racist smallminded uneducated materialistic shallow barely human scumbag!
Do you really think Stripey will be honest here and open himself up to criticism??
-
Where did that Myth start? I remember the fear of it ever breaking...just incase i was whipped off by the aforementioned Helicopter.
Think JFS still sell them...i had a classic green and blue three quarter one..
Possibly from two e heids on a come down leaving a rave at 7 in the morning? "Fits this for?" "Da break that min, its a alarm for when yer in the mountains ken, helicopters will come after ye an ahin min"
I had that exact same Nevica, it complimented an adidas equipment blue jumper that i never had off, along with my reebok pumpz!
-
EVERYBODY at my school had an Eclipse or a Club Culture bomber jacket. And a pair of British Knights! Except me, looking nerdy in my Nevica.
To scared to break the Recco (?) tab incase you set off a false alarm and search & rescue helicopters targetted your Nevica. Your maw would kill you if you done that!
-
To be fair i was a bit to young and missed the boat with rave, rave for me consisted of buying Bass Gen & Tom Wilson tapes from JFS and requesting Set Me Free at the school disco (followed by getting a feel of ass while slow dancing to the Lighthouse Family!)
Good times, loved rave me!
-
The worst thing was i think they were about 90 a bomber! Finished off with a pair of kickers or rockports!
-
Frightened Rabbit & Twilight Sad 14th August @ Liquid Rooms, can't make it
-
I was trying to think of that as well, it was either Ecosse or Eclipse or something!
Hmmm Rave and Britpop, what a shit decade!
-
That walk from the car park to the campsite was a bad enough with tents, crates of beers, bags etc, nevermind all the way from Kinross. We used to store alot of drink in the car as well.
I reckon it could be a shambles, im not even sure half my mates are aware you need a parking ticket!
Thank fuck i can't manage this year
-
anyone remeber the 5 tapes you used to get in that shitty shop in the Trinity Centre...ca remeber the name of the shop but it sold chequed shirts and combat trousers and what not...
Bass Generator were a fav of mine i have to admit....
JFS.......Dready bomber jackets min

I fail to see the appeal in paying extortionate sums of money to watch someone play a song you've heard endless times before on a cd you can probably buy in asda. Unless of course you idolise the band and think that seeing them perform live somehow brings you closer to them, or think that in 50 years time you'll tell your grandkids "i saw radiohead live in 08".
Depends what you class as 'extortionate' tho?
Im not the biggest Radiohead fan but i don't mind spending 25 to go and enjoy myself. Beats sitting on here night, after night, after night, after night. There's a whole world out there Stripey

Same here, we went down with no tickets and got 2 for 50 from the first person we seen!
Weather spoiled it a bit but it was worth it for Karma Police and Fake Plastic Trees.
Umbrellas should be banned from gigs

Anyone going? Been? Got any recommendations?
Im heading down for a weekend nearer the end of the festival, picked up tickets for Henry Rollins (my choice) and Jimmy Carr (not my choice) already but was hoping to catch a few less known acts while wandering about during the day.......
The Edge Festival (T on the Fringe) is weak as fuck at the mo.
-
Anyone know if they eventually release day tickets for connect?
-
1. Entourage - Funny, easy viewing and as someone said Arty's character is feckin class.
2. 24 - Still think its the best American programme of its nature that has come out in the last 10 years. Looking forward to the next series.
3. Heroes - I thought the 2nd series was shaping up to be better than the 1st but obviously the writers didn't.
4. Prison Break - 1st Series was amazing, 2nd was good, 3rd was meh and im not even sure if its finished!?
5. Jericho - Really enjoyed Series 1 and the 6 episodes of Series 2. Scrapped tho.
6. Lost - Confusing, i've watched all this season in parts, I watched each of the series before with in a week which i enjoyed more.
7. Dexter - No cliffhanger endings like the other american shows but enjoyable enough.
8. Only Fools & Horses - Still watch the odd episode on Uk Gold.
9. Sky Sports News - Feckin bored as fuck with no football on at the mo!
10. Americas Next Top Model - *cough*
-
Lets just cancel them again and get Frightened Rabbit back
-
United by Fate is still the best album per pence i own! 1.99 from the old Fopp. Im sure someone put the wrong price tag on it, if you're out there, then thanks, as i had never heard of RS before this!
