  1. I can see your point but as phil says you are more likely to get knocked down by a bus than for a helicopter to crash whilst your in it, do these people think twice before they cross the road when they hear this statistic? I have the upmost sympathy for the familys and friends who have lost loved ones over this but the last thing we need is a huge over reaction to an accident, people who have been on helicopters for years now saying they are not safe ect, and most importantly we cannot have people pointing the finger at any person or company until the full details are disclosed.

I think you completely missed my point, i wasn't saying people will be sitting there worrying that somethings going to go wrong with the chopper im saying it'll be in their heads whats happened. Guys offshore can relate to the whole procedure of getting excited bout going home, watching the safety video, suiting up, grabbing a paper and speaking to your back to back then getting on the chopper - there was nothing in my post indicating i was over-reacting all i was saying is that they'll be thoughts of whats just happened. All this crossing the road or car crash bolloxs has nothing to do with it.

And more importantly than all that not once did i mention or blame anyone on the cause of the crash, im one for waiting to hear the facts instead of listening to some gobshite that doesn't know FA, so you don't need to keep on about it.

  2. So are any of the offshore workers on this site thinking of a career change after this tragedy?

I'm not working offshore yet but most likely will be by the end of the year. Starting to think it's not really worth it.

Not me. Although i don't 100% agree with Alkaline, for some guys the fear, worry and perhaps the memories of whats happened might out weigh the advantages of working offshore. Pressure from families might also make up their minds for them. On the other hand, some might not have the choice, they have mortgages to pay, families to provide for and a lifestyle they're now accustomed to.

For all the safety statistics and records that have been banded about i can still guarantee its going to be at the back of the minds of everyone flying to and from the rigs in the next few months/years.

  3. by far the best league to watch(closely followed by La Liga).

If you're going to make such bold statements at least make sense ;)

I've preferred La Liga this season, EPL has become boring and predictable, the West Ham's v West Brom's are atrocious and the big games become so hyped up both teams are to scared of losing the match. I can't remember a classic ManU/Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool against each other from the last couple of years. The game on Saturday wasn't even that great to watch. Two mistakes and a couple of pens. Its come to the point where i actually prefer watching Sky Sports Centre than the actual match.

I agree with you on Sky's coverage tho, its spot on. Altho it may be blamed for glorifying the EPL to a level above its standard.

  4. Spanish football's where its at. I've started watchin the Saturday and Sunday night games while offshore and its been amazing. Most teams best form of defence is attack and it makes for wide open games full of goals! The Madrid derby last week was 1-1 going on 3-5! Barca were irresistible last night as wekk (helped by winning 450 off them), they kept the ball for over 4 mins at one point. I hope they hump one of the English clubs in the CL.

La Liga >>>> EPL at the moment.

  5. Dave, with the least offensive meant as possible, you need to lighten up a little. Other mods seem to be able to close a thread without the big Independance Day style speech before doing so, its patronising especially when at the end of the day its only people having a laugh, probably trying to get through the day at work! And save the good 'ole 'Aberdeen Music isn't a playground for throwing insults' speech, i've heard it before

  6. Are you objecting to live bands in Tiger Tiger, the Green Room itself, the concept of a VIP lounge, Tiger Tiger in general? Your liver objecting to the private bar?

Not shitstirring, just curious as your post is unclear :)

I was just imagining all the "im with the band" scenarios thats going to create!

A VIP Lounge in Tiger Tiger for local bands is going to add up to alot of ego manics strutting around the place! Similar to the situation on a Saturday night with the Aberdeen players!

  7. The best part of the thread was when people added a MR infront of unbroken when Milner claimed he was one of the best bassists in Aberdeen, the 2nd part was reading Paranoids emotional outburst about being finished with this thread and forum then seein his name beside mine in the active user list :stupid:

  8. Can't you see in the big picture its all about the image? Hot bands bring the hot chicks and whats the point of going to a gig if you ain't gonna get your dick sucked at the end of the night by some pretty girl?

  9. I was kinda seeing a girl from Stavanger for a while, house parties are big over there, they tend to hit the bars and clubs boozed up pretty late. Watch out for randoms walkin about picking up drinks that are left lying, they don't think anything of barging past you either so don't be offended!! Also went out for a mexican one night and the mains courses were 25+ and coronas cost 8, told the bitch she could have a starter and tap water. Im making it sound a shit place but i loved every minute over there

  10. I couldn't even contemplate counting how many times I've done that.*

Certainly more often than not. I'd very much doubt I'm alone in this as far as the ladies go.

*Not to my current boyfriend I should add.

You make that sound like hundreds of men will now be doubting their sexual performance!

  11. Berlin in a week or so then New York in Feb. Planning Vegas for a week in July then got a stagger in Tallinn September.

Its a great time to pick up a deal, Berlin flights cost me 50pp and got the Hilton right in the centre for 78 a night. 128pp for two nights in a 5 star hotel & flights ain't bad!

Got a good deal for NYC as well.

  12. Good start to the first/last goalscorers bet.

Had 25 on Aberdeen,Wolves,Cardiff,MK Dons,Leicester and fuckin Millwall

Tho then stuck 50 on Sheff Utd/Palace draw and Villa win which returned 396.

Then 96 on A Madrid which return 192.

    Good day.

Thinkin of 50 on draws at Newcastle and Arsenal. Not sure yet tho, ain't good watching games hoping for a draw.
