  1. This is true, however why bother putting in the gig details, ticket prices, venue closing time and all number of minute details if you weren't absolutely sure of booking the band? Leave it until it's 100% confirmed and don't dash people's hopes. It struck me as idiotic when I saw it.

Now someone will tell me that it IS on. Oh well! :)

  6. 2 packs of salt and vinegar walkers crisps' date=' a galaxy caramel and a bottle of original lucozade followed by about 5 fags[/quote']

Sounds like the "Aberdeen College-goer" diet. Thought not that I'm suggesting you're at such a base level of education, it's just that your breakfast selection does

As for me? Due to the high cost of imported British brands such as Kelloggs, I stick to "Hacendado Muesli crujiente". Does the job, AND is light on the pocket.

  7. I'm surprised no-one has noticed, or at least posted this yet, but today Euskadi Ta Askatasuna, otherwise known as ETA, have declared an official and permanent cease-fire as of mid-day tomorrow. There are news bulletins aplenty here, that's for sure. One can't help but wonder what the interpretations of "permanent cease-fire" are, indeed the leader of the conservative oppostion, Mariano Rajoy, has expressed his cynicism over the announcement.

  8. Sounds like you saw Laxton's Superb' date=' you lucky lady.

Now stop this charade, NARC, we didn't "go for it" at all that weekend, so it wasn't us at Maximo Park or anything else[/quote']

Frieda, I'm in Andaluca, so it's impossible that it was me. Unless someone is filling my shoes in an unlikely "year abroad" tribute. Unlikely, because no-one has such a shoe size

Steve, post your memories! And we bloody were at Maximo, I can't remember if you went for it though. Oh, where was your Exodus speaker-jumping prowess back then?

As for Laxton's Superb and the checkered vans, he's given in to lust, gave up to lust. Shame!

  9. But now, a serious point. I'm at Aberdeen Uni. I study what interests me, and I don't have a clue what awaits afterwards. And why the hell should I? I don't want my life to be mapped out before I can have the chance to change it. The prinicpal point of University is to increase knowledge, but also to meet new people who are sharing the same transitional experience. Studying Hispanic Studies has given me the opportunity to spend a year in a country that I like very much, socialise with people from all over Europe, make friends that I hope to keep forever, travel, learn about culture BUT at the same time learn a language that will give me opportunities in the work-market when I'm older. Work is inevitable, but excuse me if I don't like it

And you know what? I feel superior to all those who haven't done what I'm doing, because I know that I'm LIVING, and they are not

PS before the backlash starts, I'm fully aware of obligations or money issues that prevent people from such an experience
