  1. I've sold the two 19" monitors, but I'm now selling the PC with Wireless Logitech KB + Mouse and a (slightly outdated, but very good) Iiyama 22" CRT (flat front) monitor for 550 all inclusive. Roll up, roll up...
  2. Forgot to mention, I've also got two 19inch flat widescreen monitors by Acer which I'll add as a 150 option. Not selling seperate till the PC's gone tho. Dual screen is lovely, especially if using Cubase, Sonar etc. So 500 for the PC, or 650 with two 19" monitors. If the monitors don't sell with the PC, I'll sell them seperately.
  3. I'm selling one of one of my home PCs. I suspect I would get most money by selling off the components individually on eBay, but it would be more convenient for me to sell it quickly as a complete PC. I built it a year ago, and my main remit was to build a very powerful but suitably quiet PC for home recording and gaming. Here's the vital statistics: Case Can't remember the make and model of the case, but it's a black glossy case to which I fitted soundproofing material (purpose built rubber and foam kit) to the inside of. Motherboard ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe (based on nVidia nForce 4 chipsets) which supports Socket 939 CPUs, DDR400/DDR333/DDR266 memory, SLI (double graphics cards etc) and has 2x gigabit ethernet ports, onboard audio, loadsa USB2.0 and all the other usual Motherboard stuff... Processor AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (it's a dual core CPU, which is basically the same as having two 2.21GHz processors giving total of 4.42GHz) Memory 2Gb of fast DDR400 RAM HDDs Two identical 300Gb Seagate Barracuda HDDs (can be used as two seperate drives, or in a RAID configuration. I've been using them in a RAID Stripe which is the same as having a single 600Gb HDD but the access speed is double that of a single drive!!!) Graphics nVidia GeForce 7800 GTX based card Optical Drives One LG 52x CD-RW drive Two Pioneer 8x DVD+/-RW drives (yes, that's right, two of them...perfect for unattended DVD copying) FloppyDD Yes Soundcard M-Audio Audiophile 24/96 (which basically means it handles up to 24-bit 96KHz recording - It's part of their "Delta" range of cards, which is top of the range for PCI interface). Software I'll be completely wiping the HDDs, so it's up to the buyer to supply their own OS and software. I can advise if buyer is unsure. Price 500 (total cost of components was approx 1250 about a year ago) I would also mention that I am an IT Professional, and that this PC was built to a high standard using completely new components throughout. If you're looking for a PC for a home recording studio that is also capable of running the latest games etc, this is an amazing PC for the price. Please post any questions as a reply to this thread and I will answer them ASAP. If you're interested in buying the PC, send me a private message via here and I'll send you back my contact details ASAP. Martin
  4. This amp is still for sale, but price is now 350.
  5. A three channel (Clean, Crunch, Lead) all valve Marshall amp with 2x12" Celestion "Wolverine" speakers. Has the capability to be hooked up to external speaker cabinets too, but a very capable amp on its own. Bought it on eBay in approx 2002, gigged it for 3-4 years, and has since been superseded by a stack and is therefore no longer required. Apart from a few mandatory scrapes on the tolex, this amp is in good working order, and comes complete with the footswitch which lets you select between the three channels and turn on and off the FX Loop and the built-in reverb. 400 is the price I am asking. I live near Oldmeldrum and work in the centre of Aberdeen, so you'd have to be able to get to either location to see/hear the amp. If there are any questions about the amp, please reply to this post and I'll post my answers for all to see. If you're interested, send me a "Private Message" and I'll send you one back with my contact details. 6. Would I be right in thinking that Honda started to turn sour when they became a works team and got rid of Dave Richards??? I can't quite remember if the timings coincide, but I do know that Nick Fry comes across on tv as a clueless muppet. I can't see Honda retaining his services much longer, and I'd be surprised if Honda hadn't approached Richards/ProDrive in the last month or so... For what it's worth, I think DCs Red Bull is inferior to Button's Honda (currently). If Honda were to enter the energy drinks industry with twice the money of Red Bull, it'd still be a good few years before they caught up! To that end, DC is doing a MEGA job (deliberate Murrayism there) with the car available.

    banjo?

I have a banjo at home doing nothing but gathering dust. Never got to grips with it. I bought it for 50 a few years ago, and would gladly part with it for the same amount. I'll even give it a dust! PM me if you're interested. I don't know details about make etc, but can find out when I get home.

    PA hire.

I think the company that were hired in for one gig I did was called CLS. I've a funny feeling it stands for "Creative Light & Sound" but I could be wrong. Aberdeen based.
  9. http://www.imuso.co.uk/ProductDetail.asp?StockCode=PA00274 168.99 + 9.99 p+p = 178.98 Next day UK delivery! Sorry, I'm not normally such a git, but you're asking WAY too much for a 2nd hand Behringer! <git mode off> Good luck tho.
  10. Regardless of what software you use, you're gonna need the following: Reasonable spec PC with at least 512Mb RAM (assuming you're running Windows XP) or Mac equivalent (sorry, know nothing about Macs) A decent sound interface! Bare minumum IMHO is either a mixing desk (with pre-amps) or a soundcard with an external breakout box (with pre-amps). e.g. http://www.behringer.com/MX602A/index.cfm?lang=ENG or http://uk.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=434&product=10853 If you go for the desk option, you'd still benefit from a good quality 3rd party soundcard rather than using any "onboard" sound. Hope that helps a bit. Marty
  11. Surely Big Brother's Eugene would be perfect???
  12. if it's for recording only, I'd definitely buy a condenser mic as they produce far superior results to cardiod mics (even SM58s). Even the sub 100 cheapies! These mics require a bit of TLC though, so would definitely be for home/studio use only. Condenser mics don't like being "held" while in use either. If you want to go for a condenser mic, I'd suggest getting a "bundle" that includes a shock mount microphone holder and a pop-shield as well. Note, most condenser mics have built in pre-amps, which require power. Make sure you can either use batteries with it, or better still, have a mixing desk that produces "Phantom Power". If you're not sure what any of that is, I suggest you do a bit of google homework. I blew my budget on a 100 condenser, to find out afterwards I couldn't use it 'coz my mixing desk didn't have phantom power! If you want a dedicated "phantom power supply", give me a shout. I have one I don't need anymore that I would sell for 15. (save buying a new desk). However, if you want a good all-round mic that you might use for doing gigs or live recording with in the future, I'd be inclined to get a Shure SM58 instead. It will still be ok for recording, but will also take punishment at gigs etc. Marty
  13. How about a Behringer COMPOSER PRO-XL MDX2600? http://www.behringer.com/MDX2600/index.cfm?lang=ENG I've never used mine, so is "as new". 120.
  14. Hi, Due to an over-busy gigging schedule, I am resigning my position as bass player in a well established north-east band. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to be out there playing every weekend. The band play a good mixture of pubs, functions, weddings, rallys, festivals etc. Financially rewarding too ;-) You'll have a lot to learn with all the stuff they play (well over 100 songs now), but how much easier is this than trying to start a band from scratch (unless you're a masochist!). Me and another guy are sharing the gigs for now, but this is currently an open door just waiting for the right person... Interested? Check out the band's website: http://the-limit.co.uk/ Still interested? Contact the band using the "Contact Us" link on their website! Current members age ranges from 18 to 31 (me!), but it's ability and availability that matter. Thanks for reading. Marty
