the mart of darkness replied to The Ghost Of Fudge's topic in Krakatoa
hmmm. yes. i was rather set on just coming up for the gig, then fucking off straight away. that's my moving in to new flat day you see. could do with spending as little time as poss in aberdeen. i would trust oggy to do it without rehearsal... -
rob looks like he has a princes leia 'do' in that photo.
-
just been reading some of the copy i got last night... my favourite bit so far, is the rock test with jj - the monster truck question: "also, i like soup". comedy genius!

dogs d'amour were the poor man's quireboys. i love the quireboys, they will rock. glasgow was magnificent. -
fuck me (that's an exclamation, not an instruction). are you going to hunt the cunt (i speak in rhyme all the time) down and break him?
-
that's some funky shit mofo. particularly like 'beard fury' and 'pure rock fury'.
-
bri, if you can be arsed doing a flyer in the manner of the ones you've been punting about this forum for the edinburgh gig, i can get some printed off for me and waz.

i just keep thinking of more covers i wanna do. well, actually pete suggested this one and i think we could do an amazing job of it - estelle 'go gone'. i think it's called 'go gone' anyway, but it's definitely estelle. anyway it rocks like a motherlover, and pete quite rightly pointed out that we could really rock it like several motherlovers. if you don't believe me, go find a copy and listen to it now. much love, mart xxx

i might be up round about the 27th august. dunno about waz, but we could even get together without him and learn/write a couple of newies to teach him. in theory. what say you?
-
oooh... you bugger. can't you put craig and james up as well? for a bit of healthy competition, y'know? i can't find it anyway...
-
the daft punk song was 'harder, better, faster, stronger' or something like that. i think. i noticed in kerrang the other week that green day now cover 'shout'. that's put me off it a bit...
-
it was joe jackson who did is she really going out with him... i've got a couple more that i think would work (ie i've learnt them) bombfunk mc's - freestyler hue and cry - labour of love also, i would still lurve to do my sharona xxx ps of the ones in the poll, my vote's still for galvanize

Bands that made it but never should have:
the mart of darkness replied to TR!ΔNGL€ T€€TH's topic in Music Discussion
i like 95% of the bands mentioned so far... only the libertines really bother me. does this make me a bad person? -
who is the best rock/metal vocalist ever
the mart of darkness replied to the nobz's topic in Music Discussion
oh what the hell... um... chino moreno steven tyler eddie vedder ...and cornell ...and patton for some reason, whenever i hear mark lanegan, i can only think of chris rea. although i do enjoy chris rea, so i don't consider it a bad thing... -
um... what?

this is only deadloss related in that i am a member of deadloss, but to quote my post in another forum... i'm just trying to make a bit of room for my drums and stuff, sooo... anyone want an old 11"ish telly (no remote, but works fine) for, i dunno, 10? or a not very old, cheap (but quite cute) alba cd/cassette/radio system. it's in perfectly good condition apart from the cd player which does a weird thing every few minutes and switches the whole system off. it only cost 60 new and i was never arsed to get it fixed. you can have it for 5 before i chuck it in the bin (or i guess you could wait till i chuck it in the bin, then take it out for nothing - but you'd have to come to edinburgh...). or an ikea clothes rail type thing for 5? or a white clothes horse thing? anyhoo, i'm popping up to the deen tonight, so lemme know.

'beating heart baby' is one of the greatest singles i've heard in ages. it rocks. and palumbo rocks on it. i never really liked glassjaw though.
