As this thread appears NME.com has the following story BABYSHAMBLES will not be re-scheduling their doomed ABERDEEN gig for tonight (October 1) due to safety fears from local authorities. Contrary to rumours circulating message boards, the gig, set to go ahead at the citys Kef venue, has been cancelled due to advice from the police and previous venue The Lemon Tree. The band are now unsure as to when the gig will go ahead due to a tight touring schedule, but aim to play the city again in the near future. As previously reported, the gig at the Lemon Tree ended in chaos after the last minute announcement that the band would not be playing. The reason given to the waiting punters was that Pete had fallen down the stairs and was unable to play. Babyshambles will release their new single Killamangiro at the end of the tour. Released on Rough Trade, the single hits the shops on November 8.

pete's hardly on his second chance. I've seen the libertines 3 times at Reading festival. Only once has Pete played.

It isn't getting blown out of proportion. Although I never saw any fighting or "disappointed young fans in tears". But there was 2 police vans, 3 police cars, 2 fire engines and 1 police dog. Was most amusing when the first police arrived on the scene. The crowd around the bus started chanting "get the junkie on the bus, get the junkie, get the junkie, get the junkie on the bus" and continued to for a while. I would have been quite happy last night to have seen him arrested. I totally support The Libertines decision to play without him until he gets his act together. What number do we call to get a refund by the way???

From Nme.com Seven BABYSHAMBLES fans were arrested last night (September 29) after riots broke out upon news that PETE DOHERTY would not be appearing at a Scottish venue. Fighting began at Aberdeens Lemon Tree when fans heard that the estranged Libertine would not be playing the scheduled gig. Twenty police officers were called to bring the gig goers under control, including a dog handler. Fans had crowded around the bands tour bus as it tried to leave. One fan explained to NME.COM that the 550-strong crowd became restless after an announcement that Pete had fallen down the stairs and wasnt able to play. Fans were told they could get a refund for their tickets. "The aftermath wasn't very pretty, and saw disappointed young fans in tears at the realisation that they were not going to see their hero," he explained. "Aggressive neds fighting bouncers, a one man stage invasion, and the sound of the fire alarm." The fans were then moved outside the venue where police intervened with the fighting. Were you there? i think there is a bunch of great gigs coming up in the next couple of months. but i do think between june and august there was very little decent gigs. but that goes for all venues in aberdeen. But it's the same every summer when the festivals are on.

about two issues ago they reviewed the re-released debut album and it got 9/10. It also appeared in the best 4 albums of the moment feature.
