  1. I gave the foot trick a try the other day, but it's tricky to master! I thought I'd cracked it when I stuck a bit of blutack to a 10p piece and attached it to the One Step button - it worked for about 10 seconds and then... you guessed it... stuck to the body of the Casio. Result? One note. Sustained infinitely. However, I'll be using the Beguine rhythm to good effect on the 24th June. Be there, see it fall apart spectacularly...
  2. probably best not to think about what might have happened if... or we'd never do anything!
  3. Found the missing AC adaptor at last - anyone interested in the shortwave boombox? I'm willing to take offers if you can't stretch to a fiver...
  4. If you're interested in hearing it (or big chunks of it anyway!) http://www.bandbuilder.com/sonicyouth/index.php?ref_code=D51733 I'm not sure if I like it yet / not....

Not quite the same genre, but the latest Anticon sampler may interest you Chris! Some great tracks.
  7. cool - cheers for the info! i'm looking forward to making it next week!
  8. I wish! Typical timing to catch a bug though. How was it?
  9. .. hmm... would leave our hands free to hold the beer... but would the combined stench clear Drakes?... I think it may have to be an outdoor gig. Sponsored by Odour Eaters...
  10. Actually that Denison Witmer track (24 turned 25) is pretty damn good. Ooh... tempted... got a time machine so I can roll back the hours and get a decent night's sleep afterwards?
  11. And that's why you're my hero. Or my excuse anyway...
  12. Now *THAT* is very interestink.... cheers Graham & SlowDazzle!
  13. Hey by the way Mr Cynic, You know something I don't? Or is that the Japanese Ghost?
  14. Hey, at least you tried! Keep practising, you'll nail it eventually! Alternatively, you could *pretend* it's on, and have a CD playing the track instead.... no one would guess... until you do a fancy keyboard solo! I'll have to try something similar with the VL tone, in the safety of my own home of course!
  15. Hi Sultan, Sorry for the delay! -- The Void - Gingerbread Man Foot stomping intro, love the bassline although it gets a bit lost behind the crunchy guitar at times. Hey! Your vocalist's pronunciation reminds me of Alex Harvey in places - and that's no bad thing! Tight harmonies in the chorus and middle section just made me smile. The lyrics are rather inspired, especially during the break - "you forgot to add eggs - look at my legs!" being the pick of the bunch for me. The changes from blues to rock n roll to a smidgeon of reggae flow smoothly and I'm only sorry that you didn't manage a breakdown into Beastie Boys esque rap (you know you could have done it, you KNOW! )... Original, catchy and possibly the best song on this thread so far. I'm SERIOUSLY impressed.

  17. i dunno. it wasn't the music so much as the lyrics. just seemed to be treading the same ground over and over again. perhaps i missed something. satirical commentary on the repetitive blandness of teenage years? if so, the guy's nailed it. i'll take your advice and listen a couple more times, but if you want my opinion i thought some of the helium legg monologues were of higher lyrical quality... yeah, and songs without kazoos should be banned.
  18. sorry to hear that but now extremely glad i didn't go.
  19. i streamed it off the site. i'm not convinced at all.
  20. yes. i do know what you mean about having to mix parts of the song to wav as you build up the tracks. sometimes i start entirely new sessions (a bit like bouncing down on a 4 track i suppose), which then allows me to tweak some of the tracks, then i have to load up the other session to tweak the other tracks and mix down. i think i've just made it sound more complicated than it is! i use cool edit pro 2. it's going to take a revelation to make me change to another software package...
  21. here's a hint - you want to reduce latency problems & increase hard disc space? if possible, chop up your guitar tracks into loops. then you're only using a fraction of the space... it's the main reason i can still use a P2 225mhz for recording!
