  1. I have a surprisingly clean record with the police which they only know me for throwing parties in Bridge of Don about 6 years ago, drinking in the streets, peeing in public and I got caught steaming drunk once with a Morissons trolley full of booze outside Archibald Simpsons. Oh, and a fight with a polish nazi outside Drummonds.

Other than that, I'm a model citizen.

No. It got stopped by 2 coppers. They let him back in and told me I had to leave.

yow fahkin knicked me little beautie.

  2. The only reason I mentioned it is because it has a 'reputation' for being the best. I tried some when I was in Holland nd it was absolutely incredible. It would also explain the inflated price to a degree. Charging 35 for a steak you can buy out Laidlaws for a fiver is taking the piss.

and the other end of the spectrum is when people buy a 2 steak, thinking it's going to be suculent, soft & tasty...

cheap meat from the supermarkets....I don't want to get all pious again...but.....[rant]....

  3. good to know, however it is being sold here, so must be ok? tbh if it were one type of cow or the other prob wouldn't notice a huge difference, but this did stand out above the rest

Laidlaws do a Firey Argintenian Beef Stiry Fry and it's delicous!!

I think it's imported with the argentinian standards...hence " a tb infected cow is OK to eat"...where as in britain, it isn't. (which I don't get - as it's not infectious, but I guess there could be some mutation, or outbreak from offal / scraps goetting out there...)

this is why most farmers kill badgers when they find them. I once went to the west coast, and past loch ness, there were dead badgers every mile on the back roads...and they were not killed by cars, I suspect...just made to look like it.

  4. Argentinian Steak....which apartently comes from Angus cows...how does that work....who cares it's by far the finest I have tried yet!

angus is a breed - not a place (well...it "is" a place...but not when you talk about "angus" cows).

apparently....(and this comes from a beef farmer, who knows about these things)...

is that Argentinean beef is cheaper than Scottish Beef - because of the "mass production", but also the lack of stringent accountability we have here.

It's also rife with TB - which isn't contagious - but would instantly be culled if in the UK.

(but...this is from a Scottish farmers perspective...so I'd need to find out "the facts" before making a descision)...but saying that, I do trust and believe what my sisters partner says.

and ayway...we should be supporting british (scottish) farmers - they have a hard time as it is.

  5. Peter Broderick - Home

If you like Bon Iver then this is going to be right up your street same, very very nice

agreed. downloaded this the other week. brilliant.

    i love peter broderick.

i was agreeing to the fact it's a great album.

i've never heard bon iver to know whether or not it does.

ah...so agreeing that Bon Iver sounds like Peter Broderick in the previous post doesn't actually mean that Bon Iver Sounds Like Peter Broaderick, because you've never heard Bon Iver to know whether he sounds like Peter Broaderick or not.

    I get it now....

  6. I'm assuming that it must be Argentinean.

don't tell my sisters beef farming partner that...

amazing what a bit of "foreign mystery" can do to the price of something...

if anything, the best local aberdeen angus is the best (and probably themost expensive) beef you can get? (bar that japanese stuff (Kobe) that can be 100's per pound) Kobe Beef - Japanese Beef - Kobe beef information

1 (16 oz.) New York Steak - Kobe Beef from Japan, kobe beef, buy kobe beef, kobe steaks

    (yes...that's $149.99 for one 16 Oz steak).

  7. It also doesn't mean that you're an idiot.

    I love this forum...

where on earth did I say (or hint) that people who do spend dosh every time a gadget comes out - or spends shit loads on the latest fashions that they are idiots?

If anything, I think they are kidding themselves that "it matters". that is all.

not being able to have an interesting conversation, doesn't mean someone is thick... just that their "interests" are pretty vacuous. (but.....that's just my opinion)...I am sure there are plenty of people that think the latest xBox game is interesting...because spending hours in front of a TV in a fantasy world, pissing your life away is interesting, isn't it.

now, if someone was to MAKE a game for the xBox...that would be interesting.

  8. Don't think i've used my debit or credit card since June, it's kind of cool and relaxing living on a strict budget making spending money for the month from trading whilst having the money from the day job accumulate in the bank with direct debits coming out monthly.

Try putting your credit and debit cards into a tupperware container, filling it with water and putting it in the deep freeze.

so how do you buy things on a daily basis?

do you go into the bank and get a lump sum out at the start / end of the month?

I myself have a credit card that I pay off in full at the end of every month. (and never think of it as "credit" - just "my money" - so I've never gone nutty on it). It's also a cashback card, so at the end of every year, I get a nice we discount off the last bill. I've used it for "everything" - everyday purchases, so my money in the bank never gets touched, 'til the end of the month - to pay off the card.

I'd also weaned myself off being a consumer a while back, you know that feeling on pay day, where you think "I have to go spend this now!"...

I'd realised I'd stopped doing that when I once walking into a clothes shop and said to my self..."I don't need this, and I don't want it".

I've often thought that people who need gadgets and fashion to say something about themselves are missing the point... just 'cos you've got the latest phone or cool top from bench (or whoever), doesn't mean to say you can hold an interesting conversation!
