  1. yo! if you want to hear the lush new kartta recording of Henri Got Cancer then tune into the Sunday Showcase with Andrew Learmonth in the next hour to hear it. I particularly like the ending, it sounds ace.

    106fm. word.

there's also an interview with fivefifteen and i think the panda eyes interviews already been on.

  2. They undoubtably do, given that a story was published about RFR Promotions a few days after I posted about their financial troubles. Considering that very few people were aware of the problems at the time, it wouldn't be surprising if the story came out of the original posting.

yea i'd imagine they regularly log in and do a quick search for your posts to make sure they're not missing any 'scoops' seeing as you're obviously a barometer of taste and happenings in the granite city.

  3. Broken Records were really good in places. Their first two songs really were...wow! Then they broke out the accordian, which was a bit eurovision in places imo.Grabbing each others arms and swingin round like you're at a country western night. Stick to the songs with violin and they'll go far.

there's nothing wrong with an accordian and to be honest it was great to hear it. certainly didn't give it a eurovision vibe.

you're right though, the first two songs were wow!

  4. Holy fucking shit! Broken Records were absolutely incredible. What a band. They're going far. I'm in love.

The Chutes? Well, blah. The good points: nice 5-string bass; nice shoes. The bad points: the overly-familiar indie racket; bad haircuts; unwillingness to even try anything new; they'd look good on the cover of NME (and, indeed, are probably aspiring to be); the singer probably practices his methodical moves infront of his bedroom mirror.

I just don't get it. They're slick, and they'll possibly be huge. But to me, they are absolute bluffers. They are haircut-pop.

The Little Kicks. You know what you're getting when you sign up for The Little Kicks. You'll get a good beat, a bittersweet croon, and a very well-polished live performance. Aberdeen's most accomplished band, and their following reflects that.

yea! what phil said! broken records were fucking amazing! chutes were dull but very slick. little kicks were ace as always, great songs played excellently.

  5. yea i bought fifa instead of pro evo this year and have to say i'm pretty impressed. been doing pretty well with aberdeen and might have to bump the difficulty up. i like the fact you can practice while your game is loading, it's a nice touch.

  6. Total crap, I would say most small pubs that I know of keep their prices the same. Changing prices is a relatively new phenomenon, and one that I'm only aware of in trendy club-come-bars, not ordinary pubs.

yea like the moorings! oh no, wait a minute... :)

i agree, most pubs don't change their prices but it's not necessarily a bad thing when pubs do have a changing price structure, it's just a new fangled modern business practice innit. they gots to make some cash right? people sometimes forget that yes cheap stuff is good but it's not always good in the greater scheme of things is it?

  7. If I wanted to put that much effort in I would be just as well skateboarding!

i'm 27 years old and overweight with no sense of balance, why would i want to try skateboarding in real life if i can play it at home on my couch? :) it would be madness.

i did have a skateboard when i was a kid but i was shitter than shit at it. and it was one of those chunky dayglo ones that you got from argos.
