I've only seen two gigs this year, so I guess they'll both have to get my vote.
Likewise. Your excuse is considerably more valid than mine though.
Therefore:
1. Ugly Duckling - La Scala, King's Cross
2. Calexico & Beirut - The Roundhouse, Camden
Neither were mind-blowingly great though. I will see more next year, I promise.

Had a bad expirence with BA coming back from Paris.
It was the day Concorde fell out of the sky.
And you think you had it bad?
-
I can't believe you got no Vincent Gallo....
I now have "Satisfaction" by the Stones stuck in my head, but with "satisfaction" replaced by "Vincent Gallo". I thought I'd share.

seconded.
thirded. 9 games? 9 FUCKING GAMES WITHOUT A WIN!!!

Done it twice now, and can therefore conclude that straight out of bed I look most like Trey Parker. In the early evening I look like:
William Wyler(?)
Adam Brody
Gale Harold(?)
Hayden Panettiere(?)
Domenique De Villepin

What do I win?
You win the 2006 Wasteland Award for Man Who Looks Most Like Asia Argento.
Congratulations!
"SPEECH!!!"

My boss, a born again christian, was quite vehement in his stance that it was morally wrong, inhuman and that they should all burn in hell for their actions.
I've read that three times now and, in my head, it will never say anything other than "they should all bum in hell..."

If you've not read it, this is very funny. Just noticed he released a novel as well, which may well have to be bought.

Am currently in the middle of "Stalingrad" by Anthony Beevor and "The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid" by Bill Bryson. One is very good, if a bit of struggle, the other is shit. I'll let you work out which is which.
-
Evel Knievel. Or Andy Kaufman. Or Dean Martin.
I'd make them fill out a questionairre in advance to decide which.

And why did the title not mean what I thought it did? That would have been a story...

Hybrid released an album this year, so that wins by default, so:
Hybrid - I Choose Noise
Calexico - Garden Ruin
Ugly Duckling - Bang For The Buck
Head Automatica - Popaganda (joking, it's shit).
I've become obsessional about Buck 65 (bastard hasn't released an album this year though), so if he'd bothered, his.
-
Have been going a bit Amazon Marketplace crazy over the last couple of weeks and been picking up loads of albums by bands I like but never got round to buying.
Ugly Duckling - Fresh Mode E.P.
Calexico - Alone Again Or (single)
Buck 65 - Square
Buck 65 - Talkin' Honky Blues
Giant Panda - Fly School Reunion
Roddy Woomble - My Secret Is My Silence
Ash - Free All Angels
Ash - Meltdown
The Stone Roses - Second Coming (my copy got stolen from the car years ago)
Boom Bip - Blue Eyed In The Red Room
Super Furry Animals - Phantom Power
Super Furry Animals - Rings Around The World
Cassetteboy - Mick's Tape
Rough Trade Shops - Country Vol. 1
Also have a massive wishlist set up, so will start attacking that with next week's pay.

i honestly cant remember what they looked like, had a scoot round the net and couldnt find a photo of them and there isnt one on the CD.
I have vague memories of a really strange looking, tiny woman with the worst haircut ever to grace the head of a human being. I'm going to have to go google it...
EDIT: There we go...

I've got the latest RC installed on my machine, which runs OK considering my PC was built about 2 and a half years ago and has an even older processor. Only problem is it won't pick up my wireless network, which means no internet, which means it is essentially useless.
Looks nice though.

got the number 135 smash hit single by tiger - 'shining in the wood' for a quid on e bay
They were those really, really freaky looking fuckers, weren't they?
-
Kai, it must be touching to see a thread about a man shitting all over trains turning into your welcome back thread...
Welcome back though (even though I don't know you).

What an asshole...No, I mean really, WHAT AN ASSHOLE.

If only you'd been there today, you'd have been able to go and see Urethra Franklin.

To quote possibly the most annoying, boring woman we met in New York "this is your bible" (repeat ad nauseum). She was right though.
Pick yourself up a paper copy when you get there as well, and you will be well sorted.

C**TS!!! That was c**ting New Year all f**king over again. Why do we keep playing them off the park and letting them win the league within 3 minutes??? I hate Celtic, but I love Hearts playing well (which we did, for long spells of the game) much MUCH more. The league will be ours soon. Maybe not this season...

Drogba should have walked within 20 minutes for his persistent play-acting. Cheating baw bag.
Also got really fucked off when they were going on about how Marquez had gone down far too easily in his own box in the first half. The lad landed square on his coccyx - which if it's ever happened to you, you'll know how fucking painful that is. I know he'd been diving about as well, but the whole "send him off" for the push on Drogba shit - that managed to casually ignore the fact that Drogba had just stuck his leg through someone on the floor and should therefore have walked himself - was really pissing me off.
Bunch of fucking pansies the lot of them though.

Could just be that Netgear products are inherently shitty. Had a D-Link router in the flat that would need an occasional reboot every 2 months or so. The Netgear at my old man's needs a reboot twice a day.
Bought two lots of their USB wireless adapters in a previous job, based on the great reviews their stuff gets. Two different versions, one worked a treat - but was discontinued, the second lot dropped connection all the time (after all the software updates were run) and all ended up going back.
Wouldn't touch Netgear stuff now.
