  1. SEABORGIUM is easily a better name that Element 106. Trust you guys to wait till they officially rename the "Element" to get round to the idea! haha

Edit: The renamed it in 1993.. You guys were out of date before ye started! hahahaha

ps. "Seaborgium has a half-life of less than a second". About the same amount of time i can listen to Hog sing!!!

    UGH!

  2. was down at dundee at weekend told ..kennys...rainbow...cash converters and a wee second hand shop that sell a bit gear...( pun intended )....good luck

Sweet!! Cheers dude. I have a crime file number for it now. Plus i can pass my mobile number to ye... if ye think it apt?

  3. Just back from a year in Australia and need to find myself a band..

For those who don't know me, I'm a 29 year old quine who has been playing bass for 10 years.. guitar for 10 years before that.. I've played a lot of styles over that time, so I'd consider anything with the right peeps, but I've mostly played in metal and rock bands since the beginning of the noughties...

Don't have any tunes online atm (unless you fancy forking out on i-tunes) but there should be stuff up in the next couple of weeks at Anarchist - in the studio! on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads.

sorta stuff ye looking to play quine? I was asked other day if i knew any bassists... welcome back! yay!!

  4. I'll keep an eye out for you in the tunnels too.

Got any pics you can post so that we can identify immediately?

Been trying to hunt down th pic i took of my 5150. To no avail... But here is some pics of the rest. (plus pics of a normal 5150 and the camo i used)

    IOMMI.jpg

Amp Front: (it has no board with 5150 printed on it.. so you can see straight through it)

    Amp Back:

    Camo:

It was the semi hardcase that had the Oval logo disk on it. Not guitar. Also, the case is rectangular as opposed to "guitar" shaped.

    Cheers

  5. sorry for your loss man...i lost a best friend years back because his guitar was stolen from my car....it took me 3 years to pay back the cash.....the insurance company weren't interested even though the guitar was in the boot....i'm a taxi driver and i will keep my ears open ..( junkies )

i also get down to dundee regular ..i will be there this weekend and will tell the boys at kennys and rainbow.....i usually pop into cash converters as well

Your a superstar dude!! I'm still thinking positive as am getting stories of people who got "some" stuff back... so i'll live in hope a little longer.

All help is SO appreciated i can't find the words... i think the situation hits a chord with alot of people though!!

    Cheers again!

  6. I generally wouldn't leave my guitars overnight but that's because of the potential damage to the finish etc from leaving it in the cold.

I'm usually quite good at taking th efront panel off my stereo but sometimes I can't be arsed, and that's even with having stereos nicked twice. :(

well.. i can top that for dumbness. My car easily gets broken into at least once a year. It's maybe been every 8months or so this last 3 times. Everytime, nothing was stolen (except once as my locking nut key has gone) and they never looked in the boot. Not that there was anything of value in there normally. I rarely leave anything of value in there because of that fact. Like you say.. it'll be ok just tonight... If i ever meet a Mr. Sod, i'm gonna shove his Law up her fucking KHUNT!!!! Once i've carved it!!!!!

  7. that's not mainstream kit they've nicked.

My thinking exactly. Guitar could end up in a bedroom... but that amp is useless to anyone in this city. Unless they rip it apart and recover it themselves.... it's gonna end up in a skip!! :moody:;(

  8. Yeah, I know, it's like 1 in the morning or something and you think "Fuck it, it'll be OK"... and usually it is.

Gutted for you, any hope for insurance?

I had to claim in November for an accident in the Snow.. I ran into the side of a Taxi who then spun round and hit a parked car. Fairly low damage other than my car... but i'm twitchy about claiming so soon. When something more worthy could happen in the next 5years?? A horrible dilemma. Total cost is around a grand to replace everything, including windows. A Bugera 6260 getting bought instead of a old bucket of a 5150 (unless a sweet deal on a MKI comes my way in the pub haha). So, not entirely sure it's worth bothering the insurance about..

    ARSE!!!!

  9. It was parked in my residence parking space on Castlehill. Overlooks Castle Terrace just behind the Citadel.

Cheers for the support guys! This has been a horrible day. Not even gonna think about the total cost of replacing all this stuff....

  10. Ahh man, too bad, will keep my ear to the ground. I always try to take stuff out of the car but I know how it is, sometimes you just think "It'll be OK for one night..."

Nutshell! My car ain't parked that close to the flat either. So the distance i gotta carry it makes it all the worse.. Some stuff was taken out the car though. Never enough hands.

  11. Hey,

dunno if this is best place to put this.. but.. i got my car broken into last night and the following was in the boot. If you can keep your eyes/ears open for this shit.. i'd be UBER greatful.

    Amp Head:

Peavey 5150. Recovered with Urban Camo (Black/White/Grey) and has no board behind the grille. American power supply so will come with a Transformer. The handle of the Tranny was broken and repaired using tie-wraps.

    Guitar:

In semi hardcase, fabric outter covering and handles. All black (inc lining) i forget the make but it has a silver oval logo disk attached to the top.

Epiphone G400 SG Toni Iommi, all black (inc hardware) with "cross" inlays on fretboard.

    Extra's held in case:

    1 x Boss Heavy Metal HM-2

    1 x Boss Tuner TU-2

    2 x Cobra leads (1 x 8mtr, 1 x 4mtr) the shorter being a "sidewinder" (plug at 45degrees)

    2 x small patch leads

1 X Strap with "Kreator" patch stitched to it.

    plus some loose assorted strings.

    Cheers Guys

  12. Hog, trust me on this:

If you can't build up a fanbase or succeed in Aberdeen then you are fucked. Building up a fanbase in other cities is FAR harder.

Different cities don't actually have very different attitudes. The difference is that bigger/"better" cities get heaps of great bands so you'll seem worse/insignificant by comparison. If anything, you are lucky in Aberdeen because it is pretty big population-wise, but with the benefit of being well away from other cities - which highlights how little we get spoiled with lots of good bands compared to Glasgow/manchester/london.

Bonesaw and Uncalm aren't really that heavy or fast either. Both are good bands, but neither are exactly super extreme. Furthermore, the more extreme a band is, the LESS appeal they will have to the general music-loving population. So extremity isn't an issue. Also, both bands' fanbase (assuming they have one!), didn't appear from nowhere. They would have earned them either through hard work or simply by being objectively good - possibly both.

This post is in no way me trying to give a negative reflection of element 106. Not at all.

My point is that your band not having gigs full of people to see you is absolutely NOTHING to do with the people in Aberdeen or Aberdeen itself.

Well said, but what about Ablach? mwahaha. I jest. Spot on though!!

Element 106 has reinvented there own wheel how many times now? I can see Downfall sticking to there BLS "Guns" though.. what genre are you now Hog? hahaha You ken fine you'll get gigs in this town easily.. i have put on plenty other local acts outwith my own as support on shows i book. They have went down well and none of them have been particularly "extreme". Quality(in as every sense ye can) over Quantity. On that topic i might have a gig for you khunts... i'll be in touch.

    Ugh

  13. Nah man I didn't think it was you guys shouting it, but I assumed it was one of your mates or something. Fair do's if it wasn't, I got it wrong. It does make you feel like crap though if you get that the whole way through your set, and I know I should be better at handling it but still.

I appreciate what you said man and for the record I think your bands shows are always tight as fuck and full of power, it's always good to see..

Also we were at that gig until the end and beyond. We just say yes to as many gigs that we're offered as we can. Just building up our live experience, trying out different ideas and essentially practicing so that when we do hit the road we can do it with a bit of confidence.

As for the jackets man I just bought a couple of back patches for the jacket I'd already owned for ages so calm down.

HAHA i love this site. Okay.. if you guys can't take banter and heckling.. it's gonna be a tough road. That dude who was shouting Bonesaw IS a friend of ours. Who was truly on a mission (and clearly successful by time you played) to get wasted. I think shouting "Bonesaw" at you... was hardly the worst thing (for such wee frail boys!! HAHA) to have to deal with.

If you want people to come to your shows.. promote well, and play QUALITY shows. Not vast QUANTITIES of them.

Just because i ain't on here sucking your cocks, saying your band is UBER AWESOME!!! doesn't mean i think you are all losers and should give up. I just like wording things a certain way on here. It gets reactions!! even when your giving advice. haha

As i said.. keep wearing those awesome jackets!

    Khunt

  14. And Baz you can't start slagging people off for what they wear now

looks like i just did.. but i know they are just ticking all the "BLS" boxes.. i get it.

The animosity was towards the "Everyone should move to London" pish ye was spouting. Not towards your Englishness. Well, as far as i'm concerned anyway.

  15. Why is it that members from ablach and bonesaw seem to moan about us constantly.

We're just a band working away and gigging. I always try and stay positive towards bands and look for things they've done well, even if it's not my thing.

But people like you are ruining that for me. I thought your type of music and your attitude was to open peoples minds, accept everyone, do it yourself and support your local whatever. Why should we do it for you if all you can do is critise anyone or anything that isn't exactly like you.

Just because we don't blast beat, screech, play incomprehensible riffs and write our band name in some fucked up writing that no one can read doesn't mean we suck or that we're a copy of anything. I could just as easily say that you're a carbon copy of pig destroyer or bloodbath. But you're doing your own thing within your genre and so are we.

All I could hear through our drummonds set (which was only half an hour, same as everyone else) was bonesaw bonesaw, bonesaw bonesaw, that doesn't sound like the kind of support you seem to want from everyone else.

Right i'm going back to being positive and enjoying music cause all this acting like a miserable fucker stuff doesn't work for me.

Sorry to have been so wordy but I've enough of getting slagged for doing nothing except play what I play.

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who's left messages of support or something constructive. I really appreciate it.

Choose your fate 21st. Moorings fuck aye.

So.. let me get this straight. You think it was US chanting our own name at YOU, huh?? Mistake No1. The person who was chanting it, is the very same person who pushed Jay and smashed that pierced guys (Jay's mate) nose.... would you guys know that cause you hung around till the end? Probably not.

How about you stop playing twice a fucking week, every week, in Aberdeen? I for one, might even start taking your music a little more seriously? Not to say i dinna like you AT ALL. I think the drumming is solid and songs catchy. The other side of the coin says... Solo's too long and wanky and singer needs another 15years of smoking fags n drinking whisky to pull it off properly.

And on the point about us supporting each other etc etc.. When you turn up to a gig we put on.. maybe you can use that as an argument? Till then... just keep wearing those AWESOME jackets.

    Bazz Thee Khunt

  16. 1. It was indeed started that way but as you can see it went downhill.

    2. Yes I'm from London, some and no. I fail to see how the fact I'm from somewhere else means I must be minted. Do you depict me different somehow?

    3. Bands generally DO move to London, set up new lives etc etc. ALL THE TIME, not even bands just musicians with the intentions of doing so. This is because the outlet and means exists in the capital. The ACM is the biggest producer for bands, writers and peformers alike for example. Majority of established record labels and industry providing releations are all situated in London. Its not rocket science.

I hope you didn't burn your face too much.

It's cool dude, I take it your not so serious, play the music you love and have the internetz to do the promoting for you.

I think Scott meant... Oooooooh, you're from London.. in a, put the backs of your hands on the sides of your face and wiggle your fingers / Chewin' The Fat stylee, sorta way.

You are coming across a bit high and mighty, considering the bands you are in... and the fact that, well, you're in Aberdeen? London ain't the shit and never will be the shit. I could name quite a few bands who are on labels. That have probably never even been to London... in a band capacity at least. Thought you woulda known better than that dude!!

Not to disagree with the point that musicians/bands do make the pilgrimage. Whether it does them any good is entirely debatable.
