Some to recommend. Crossed (especially Wish You Were Here, which you can read online for free) Saga, Happy, Chronicles of Wormwood. Preacher.
Garth Ennis' The Boys has just concluded its 72 issue (and 3 miniseries spin-offs) run and has concluded in a dramatic and thrilling way. It doesn't "out Preacher" Preacher as he would claim in terms of violence and humour but comes pretty close.
The latest Batman storyline "Death of The Family" which is a crossover across all the Bat-family titles has been excellent. Return of The Joker and one major charachter is guaranteed to die.

The Muppets was a terrible movie imho.
I thought Lawless was pretty decent and Ed Hardy has generally won the Hollywood race this year with him performances.
I saw 7 psychopaths last week and thought i was alright, much better than expected.
Your opinion on The Muppets is invalid for saying imho.
From the top of my head I'll go for:
1. Seven Psychopaths
2. Argo
3. The Muppets
4. The Avengers
5. Killer Joe
6. Lawless
7. Dredd
8. Looper
9. The Raid
10. Frankenweenie
I've probably forgotten about some films I prefer

Past Times is re-opening as Paddy Power. Because there is a shortage of bookies on that part of Union St...

how much is it? first band about half 8?
-
Jamie had gone to America but he came back and Philip lives in Germany which isn't really ideal and which is why we've not done much but we've done a few gigs since he moved away.
-
Are Escape To Victory still on the go?
Sure are, just haven't done any gigs in a while
-
Has Kirkt shaved his head? If so I walked past him on Union Street. If not there's a guy with a shaved head who looks like him if he shaved his head.
That is indeed me. I'm not sure I know who you are actually...did we meet at a Greenpeace gig at Tunnels in 2005? If not, I have no idea

surprised no thread about this (only just found out about it) but Dylan Carson from Earth appears to be playing Tunnels this Sun (14th Oct)

Is this true? Or is it just a rumer?

Thanks for the constructive replies for band suggestions. Keep them coming.
Good to see the positive responses, keep them coming.
Thanks
James
You're welcome. Also may be worth getting in touch with Toxic Distortion. Those guys are so good they even toured LA.

Good man.
Did we say this was sold out? Quicker than any other date on the tour.
If we didn't - THIS IS SOLD OUT.
Thanks everyone!
Damn! One-Up sold out too?

Decent.I'm heading along on friday due to the amount of free stuff apparently.
Yeah looked the same. Gig was absolutely brilliant though (that includes both supports too)

I never tire of Born To Run, it's quite rightly overplayed, everyone needs to hear it

I had an amazing German beer a few weeks ago but can't remember what it was called but it had a light green label and it was in the same fridge as Celebrator and was the same strength, any idea what it was?

Raph from the Stay Gones does acoustic stuff - saw him with Austin Lucas back in March and it was pretty good - think he divides his time between aberdeen and edinburgh!
That's Turtle Lamone. He's Edinburgh based but his girlfriend lives up here so he's up quite often
-
Thanks for the suggestions Kirkt, I'll look into them
also worth booking is Turtle Lamone from Edinburgh. He plays kind of Hot Water Music meets Springsteen style on keyboard

Hi,
I'm looking at the possibility of putting on some acoustic punk singer/songwriters in Aberdeen.
If you're interested in playing, or know of anyone that would fit the bill, please leave a comment below.
Thanks,
Karen
Tragical History Tour from Dundee are usually up for gigs, think Davy from Crashdown does acoustic sets and there is a guy called Mark (I forgot his surname, Ayling perhaps) that does a sort of Billy Bragg sort of thing within Aberdeenshire pretty well

Anyone know if One Up have any tickets?
-
I thought it was meant to be totally different from the Arnie one? The trailer looks like they've just re-created exact same scenes. I refuse to watch this.

Looking to getting a new hi-fi - I'm wanting something most importantly that plays CDs, that I can connect my turntable to and that sounds good and is affordable. Cassette deck or mp3 connection would be a bonus. Any recommendations?
thanks
