This loony trio signed to Lockjaw Records (Thisgirl, Tribute to Nothing etc) consist of 2 bass players and a singing drummer...

press: "...bizarre, unique, stop start concoction of punk, blues and something else entirely" - Rock Sound

"HELL'S primates! ...absolutely shit loads of self-depreciating humour and some stonking tunes, means Monkey Boy really do stand out from the crowd ...Punk rock through and through." - Metal Hammer

"...kind of like something slammed together in a garage and then sent clanking out into the world totally ill-equipped to deal with modernity but still armed with enough saw-tooth do-whats and oojimaflips to see off way more state-of-the-art competition" - Melody Maker

"...Girls Against Boys' twin bass attack being forced through a mangler, they also recall the skewed lurch of the Jesus Lizard and the off-kilter stylings of Cable. But they're not content to merely, um, ape, adding their own distinct flavours" - Kerrang!

check these out at www.monkeyboy.co.uk or you could just check them out live @ Drakes on Nov 10th!

  6. the DIY punk scene needs alll the promotion it gets so make sure you get yourselves along to this fantastic gig:

G.A.T.C (also known as Gobble and the Cocks): Old school punk rock meets early hardcore, kind of like Subhumans and some stuff by Stiff Little Fingers. Some of you might have heard them on Dislocate records compilations.

EatyerGreens: A lot of you have prob seen these before, Oi Polloi influenced DIY punx from Dundee, they only learnt to play around Christmas time but definitly full of attitude and entertainment

State of Affairs: dunno for certain whether these are gonna turn up but their a young street punk band influenced by Rancid, Misfits etc

Gilman Street: local skate punks influenced by Pennywise and NOFX, bits of ska too i think

so that's all a fine evenings worth of music, hope to see y'all there, doors 8pm, 3 entry and its at Dr Drakes
