  1. Word on the street is that unofficial Gavfest tickets are out on the black market. You all know that there's only one email address to contact. Eat it! In NME it said the Libertines wanted to play, but Gav himself (a man no one really knows, only ledgend extends his reputation) told them to "go to hell". Not my words, the words of NME.
  2. They were absolutely amazing at TITP '02, eat it! I've got my ticket for this woop, and that'll be our little secret... ...but if you tell anyone, I WILL CUT YOU.
  3. Well, I thought he was something else in The Godfather, On the Waterfront, and Apocalypse Now (maybe because the behind the scenes disorganised chaos reflected on that film). On the Waterfront is so amazing. It's the way he shows his character's faults and plus' so well. You see him on one hand as a humble not very bright nobody, and then a brooding, tower of a man who stands up for what is right. It is a virtuoso performance. I've also seen Last Tango In Paris (complete pile of pretentious shit), Transformers the Movie, and Superman (whichever it was). They're not so hot.
  4. I mean they are a small firm. They're called Effector 13. The pedal was shipped to me originally faulty, so I had to send it back straight away (this took in total 15-16 weeks for production and then repair to the fault). It's had this knob problem since I got it, so the pot hasn't worn out from use. You can see why I don't want to have to send it back again. It has a great sound I just wish I had the control. What do you think I should do?
  5. Hi, I'm wanting to get one of the old mxr pedals built. I have diagrams and everything, although a friend is maybe helping me now. The pedal repair is for a small firm distortion pedal (no diagrams). It takes 6 weeks to send it away and get back, which I'm not willing to do since I've had to send it back once. The problem is the tone/distortion knob (there's only one knob). It doesn't seem to change much at all (0 to 1 it's silent, 2 to 10 it gives the same fuzz etc). It's annoying. I use the gain on my amp to change the amount of fuzz at the moment, but that is just a short term measure. Can anyone help?
  6. Hi, Does anyone know of someone round these parts who does pedal repairs. I'm also looking for someone who can build pedals. Thanks
  7. Apart from Joy Division, I disagree with everyone (sorry) Listen to Shellac - 1000 Hurts. Honestly, it's like snarling red medicine for the soul. Highlights have to be: Prayer to God ("There are two people here and I want you to kill them. Her she can go quitely by disease or a blow to the base of the neck where her necklaces close. Him just fucking kill him, I don't care if it hurts. Yes I do, I want it to, fucking kill him but first") Canaveral ("Calling canaveral I won't say his name, he could've had anyone. What do you think could have made him stoop so low. What do you think could make him stick his hands in my life. Like to put him up there in one, blow him up in space. He'd fertilise the rice in China, with the cinders of his remains") Shoe Song ("Do you get the same jokes as me? Do you get the jokes the same as me? I remember the first kiss, don't remember the last.") Rant over. Man I love that album. It's so good without the dark days too.
  8. I haven't seen either bands, but I bet I'd prefer RL. The death pit awaits...
  9. In fighting? I think that just refers to people who take the happenings of the online circuit too seriously. But you know me, eh Stu? I've never taken any heed of what Ben Quik says anyway.
  10. that's genius Tiberius, you devil.
  11. I've been there a few times and don't particularly like it. I guess it's a not bad bar, but I don't think I'd like to play live there. To me, it seems like it's trying to be too many things at once.
  12. Wow, Soulseek is great. Yeah Win MX was crappy when I had it a while back, perhaps I was unlucky. It was very temperamental in my opinion. It would like to take coffee breaks whenever it liked.
  13. Cheers man, It doesn't surprise me. What with that and some fucker giving me the Trojan Keevil virus it's severely disrupted my net perving.
  14. ...does anyone know of any other free file sharing programmes they would recommend? Thanks.
  15. Yo, I have an mp3, but can't get it online for some reason. MSN anyone?
  16. ... shall mark the return of Masamune to the gig circuit. Drunkards / and the head of your enemy welcome. The Martha Dumptruck Massacre from America are playing, as well as the very fine XS Relocat. Wow. Doors 8.00/8.30 with Sharon Drakes as the hangwoman and NHG / J. Turgenev as the faceless mercenaries.
  17. Fucking hell, all the blood and guts notorious around here has been replaced by flowers and scented candles. I miss the eating of scars and the licking of wounds
  18. Wow, It's been 9 months since we last played. MDM are a great band, we're very lucky to play with them and XS Relocat.
  19. Haha, Stuart, you've finally gone mad. The asbestos you've been inhaling must have finally gone to your head. You really should read containers. I don't want to make noise, it's boring in my opinion, and I don't threaten anyone with violence, so this might end our love affair. I'd gladly be in a band with you. I see Orwell has bid their farewell. The end of a band is always a morbid thing. I've actually roughly written and recorded a track. It's not as extreme as I wanted, but I like it, and it doesn't sound like Sidca. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As I said, anyone who's interested I'll pm, with a link to a mp3. I just need to get an mp3 compressor or whatever. All my files are wave at the moment.
  20. I actually thought of taking up the name of the first political writer I could think of. If you're interested Stuart, we could always finish shows trying to gouge out each others eyes.
