  1. I'm Mark, 17, lived in Aberdeen for a couple of years before moving to Inverurie for like, 8 years. Moved to the middle of nowhere after that and have lived here for 7 years now.

I went to Strathburn Primary (before it burned down), then moved to rothienorman primary (hated that place, still do). I'm currently in my 6th year at Inverurie Academy, and it sucks ass. I just want to leave and do nothing for a while so I can clear my head and think about what I want to do!!

  2. Hmmm, found this on the warriors remake.

"During a recent chat with MyMovies.net, Domino director Tony Scott talked briefly about his plans for redoing the 70's street gang flick, which he has said won't be moving forward until sometime in 2006.

Many consider Walter Hills 1979 film, in which a New York posse must try and get home to Coney Island alive after being framed from the murder of a gang leader, to be untouchable. But fans could be in for a surprise because Scotts impending epic is moving the action to the West coast.

"I see it as "Kingdom Of Heaven" meets "The Warriors" because with these gangs, instead of having twenty or thirty guys, Im going to have three thousand, five thousand guys in the LA river beds and its going to look like LA during the riots," Tony told us explaining "I love the original movie, thats why Im in doing this but Im not going to copy the original."

Link to it is here: http://www.movieweb.com/news/news.php?id=9538

  3. I work in somerfield in Inverurie. I get 4.80 an hour, about to work 17 to 18 hours standard a week, plus every third sunday at time and a half (that's 7.20 an hour!) so it's not too bad.

Should be making about 350 a month soon-ish.

  4. Seems a bit harsh....didnt you see it coming?

I mean when the girl ran round the desk with the DM on her right foot only....didnt you think...shit here comes a kick in the nads?

yeah, I saw it coming. Just didn't see it coming at such a high price :(

Ah well, I'll try out some of these methods (putting parents on and the like) and do pass plus and just grin and bear it. I live in the middle of nowhere so it's kinda essential that I have a car. If I want to go to uni then I can't afford to live in town so I'd rather just have a reasonably nice car. At least I'll appreciate it because it looks like I'm going to have to work my ass off to be able to afford it.

  5. i have a year's ban sitting on my licence' date=' when i was looking for quotes i was over 700 with just me on the insurance but over 300 when i added my mum as a second driver. Now i don't know the in's and out's of the insurance industry but the fact that the quotes i was getting was about 400 less when i added my mum to the policy speaks volumes.[/quote']

This is the kind of news I love to hear!

  6. Bah, I can't even afford a can of coke let alone a car and insurance!

I spoke to ye olde boss at work today though about getting some extra hours, and I figure if I only spend about 20 a week on crap as opposed to 50 I can quickly gain some capital to pay for it. Although the 1.4CL polo would be nice, I don't know how realistic it is that I can afford it, insurance, tax and petrol without some serious financial help from my parents. *sigh*

I'm such a dumbass, I should've started saving ages ago except my original plan was to buy a reasonably old ford fiesta from my uncle for 200.

Ah well, my mither's offering to let me share her car (1.3 Punto Sport, very nice car) until about April when she's getting another one, at which point I can buy it off of her if I want it.

  7. To tell a story' date=' the two most scary incidents I've ever had on the road both involved old people.

First one : mum driving, she was doing about 65, coming over the Tyrebagger towards the Airport, some old idiot in a range rover proceeds to drive straight across the dual carriageway from the Skene road, and wrecks the wing of the car. Woman then begs her not to call the police, woman blatantly smelling of booze, but my mum being sympathetic decides not to - end result : woman pays for car to be repaired and pays a couple of thousand to us. Morality issues over whether the police should've been called - but at the end of the day, there was no injuries and the car was damaged in such a way that there wasn't serious damage, just a lot of minor damage.

Second one : Me on my idiotic scooter, driving along happily along the dual carriageway to Westhill without a care in the world. Some idiot about 70 decides to overtake..I see him in my mirror, so I pull towards the kerb to ensure maximum distance between me and him (presuming he'd be in the outside lane). But nooooo, the old bastard decides to overtake me about 2 foot away from me, scaring the fucking hell out of me...tried to chase him, but lost him before getting to westhill (curse the lack of guts in the car).

Never had a problem with younger people driving - but I guess there's idiots of all ages on the roads.[/quote']

Yeah, on a lesson I was going straight ahead at a roundabout and I was waiting for traffic on the right to go. So it all went and my instructor agreed that it was safe to pull out and go, so I did. Then some old dude in a big 4 x 4 came speeding in from the road and almost hit the side of the car. Luckily, I had a look to my right, saw him not slowing down for me and just accelerated the fuck out of his way. That was just a wee bit scary.

  8. There is that factor. I was at a driving awareness thing last night which really hammered home how dangerous cars can be if used incorrectly. Scared the bejesus out of me, although I was annoyed at the fact that the school made every single 5th year attend it and didn't offer the opportunity to the 6th years who are the ones doing the driving at this stage in the year. I had to go in my own free time at night :(

Was worth it though, and also it looked good on me when I went and complained to senior management at school about the fact that 6th years were excluded from the whole thing :)

  9. I only passed a month ago' date=' 2nd time lucky for me.

I learnt in a Ka to, what driving company are you with.

I drive a 206, its beautiful but it was pricey and currently aint paying my on insurance. Once i have done pass plus i think i will be though, so that will be fun.

As for sitting the test itself, just really concentrate, don't do anything rash. In my 2nd test i basically drove at 2mph the whole way and was SO cautious. Even got a minor for going too slow, don't care im now legal on the roads.[/quote']

I'm with Roadwise Driver Training, learn in a red Ka. The instructor's alright, but I just hate the car. I think I'm definitely going to have to ask to do my test in my mum's car.

And cheers for advice on the test! I'll keep it slow so I've got all that time to react to stuff. Eugh, I'm still bricking it though :(

  10. You don't think its a bit rich to apply for a job in a pub and then complain that you are exposed to smoke?

You are missing the point here' date=' there are more important issues at stake than the simple facts of smoking. Yes the government trades in arms, yes, the government makes money from tobacco, yes the government murders innocent people with impunity under the guise of "just war".

What you don't seem to understand is that tobacco isn't the enemy, the thing you should be outraged about is this kind of hipocrisy, but none of you give a fuck, clearly. Some of you pay lipservice to alternative attitudes but really none of you actually care as long as you can watch telly, play PS2, fuck your girlfriend and eat out once in a while. It's disgusting.[/quote']

    What the hell?

You just keep digging, don't you?

  11. Nope not yet. Neither. I will probably go Third Party Fire and Theft also. It sucks either way! It was 2300 for that! :swearing:

Ouch! That's not good, not good at all!

I really need to book and pass my test asap. I live in the middle of nowhere, knowing how to drive and not legally being able to do it is such a pain in the ass.
