Friday 15th july the blue lamp (121 gallowgate, aberdeen) Finniston with the boy lacks patience and the gallow crows. 8pm free www.finniston.com www.theboylackspatience.com (album making good headway....website will be immenantly updated) to hungover to express all the reasons you should go to this gig..........you might already know you should go
  2. i can't believe i missed this post ............. i went to the gig this has been my month of being little miss shmoozie or something first off we waited to meet tori so i could give her the artwork i'd made her (extras from my degree show)........i twittered like a fool and she is the cutest lady ever and so petit and so pretty.......my boy also gave her his cd then we were upgraded to the front row because of a competition we entered 0_0 which was jaw dropping and we got to run up to the front of the stage at the end............it was amazing just because i was so far away the last time i saw her weirdly though she ended up not playing many of my favourites that night except ....Father Lucifer........i thought ...Yes, Anastasia...was amazing too and Merman............and typicly she did something quite different with....The Beekeeper i *think* which made me like it more than i previosly had...and Hey Jupiter was pretty cool you know ........there's a site where you can download most of the live covers? will have to ask my boy where it is....... i do however have a video of some of the Glastobury stuff .........including what i thought was the most adorable and fun cover of Simon and Garfunkle's - Feelin' Groovy.................overall i much preferred the Glastonbury set..............she played Leather ^_^ ....for a start the shmoozyness comes again when we met the Dresden Dolls again at Glastonbury........only this time i wasn't such a drooling fan.........this time it was more to go say hi and stuff......Amanda poked my cheek ....which i liked......i also told her that her Tori Amos post on the Dresden Journal was hilarious......... ...........go read it if you haven't ^_^ we bumped into Thomas Truax too...........(love his shows) ........and he was looking for Amanda as they are friends (which i didn't know but is unsuprising)........ anyway.........apologies for my mis-guided hungover groupie twitterings...........heh now i'm gonna pimp my boyfriend www.theboylackspatience.com he's been called the male Tori Amos and Beethoven meet Ben Folds.........and is a bit Dresden and a bit Rufus.....but also very himself...........so i guess you peoples might like his stuff............. he's also playing a free gig with Finniston and the Gallow Crows (i *think* that's their name) on Friday 15th (next Friday) will post abot it soon..........starts at 9am..........i love his music......and i'm not really biased because it's what drew me to him website is in need of a serious update and downloadable versions of his better songs............album is being recorded just now too **drunken-girl signing out**
  3. you know..........when the Dresden Dolls gig was first annouced ............i was in One-Up three days in a row and kept forgetting to buy tickets.......... .........so i thought fuckit........i'll just be lazy an buy them online as i was buying my Edinburgh tickets from see.com anyway i got my Edinburgh tickets fine (except they spelt things wrong 'the DresdAn Dolls' apparently) but i got a pissy e-mail saying they couldn't get my tickets to me in time for the gig (which was like 3 months away at the time and is still over a month away) 0_0 and i have to take the e-mail to the moshulu box office along with the credit card i used to buy the tickets (which i since cut it half) anyway..........i'm just hungover/still drunk and whining abotu nothing important...............i just thought it was silly and i fell more secure when i actually have my tickets for something
  4. yep and i spied your irony.......but i don't think everyone noticed so i went for the blatent
  5. *giggles* .....sorry .......not really laughing at you..........but someone percieving the Dresden Dolls to potentially Nu-Metal is kinnda funny tho i suppose i do get how you may have stumbled across the misperception
  6. yay.....excellant......was a good relax for me in middle of degree show prep too
  7. So did anyone go? Did anyone like it? yes and yes........but i really mean did anyone from here come etc? Support Acts were even better than i remembered! and Nicky Sounded great with her band and backing tracks.....worked really well.........Finniston make a lovely sound too (i loooove the violin)........both supports made Chris and me nervous about his competance......then he got on stage and i remembered he was really good too *giggle* there was even an encore required ^_^ so for first Aberdeen headliner i think it went really well.....seemed pretty busy too
  8. *chuckles* hehe......ashamedly i haven't heard the Little Kicks yet . . . but that sounds about right for the level of what gets played on the radio CONSTANTLY proportionate to the music out there that's actually good...... think i'm gonna be at a Ken and Barbie Q at Art School and simulataniously flapping around about the degree show......never the less i will try to highjack a stereo and see what i can pick up....unless i'm drunk by then and forget ^_^ doh
  9. excellant *gets excited* i think i might do a spot of dj-ing.....could be like a warm up for Xenophon i suppose....but tonight will be a little more chilled ^_^
  10. *bling* is tomorrow so am just replying as a reminder ^_^ you can also stream the show after online for 7 days.....there is a link to this i believe on the website - www.theboylackspatience.com
  11. it's so weird, i usually saw Nicky play when we went to the Malt Mill Open Mic night a lot....and really liked her....i only know her vaguely, Chris knows her better....and suddenly i made the connection the other night........and recognised the voice....see....one night i was working at the Lemon Tree and Colin from Biomechaniod (who i also only knew a little mainly through his lady Caroline)...was playing ...with female singer.....who i suddenly realised was probably Nicky (this happned about two years prior to her playing at the Malt Mill) so i raked through my cds a few days ago to find my Ammonite cd which is indeed lovely.....i haven't seen Nicky to go ....guess what?...etc or ask what she'll be playing or get Chris to ask her..but i heard rumour she's going a bit more electro again....but *think* Colin wrote the Ammonite stuff (don't quote me on that...maybe they co-wrote) ....one of the songs on her album really reminds me of the Cocteau Twins though.... ^_^ anyway...you should just come to the gig and check out Aberdeens little hidden treasures because it's FREE and stuff ^_^
  12. Support Now Confirmed and time change . . . . Weds 18th May - Gig @ The Tunnels, Aberdeen. from 8.30pm. FREE ENTRY. 13. The Boy Lacks Patience on BBC Radio Scotland (90 95 FM, 810 MW) Monday 16th May between 2-4 on the Tom Morton Show After the Competition Win Chris has been invited back to play on the show again ....this date is a rescheduled one as he had a bad throat before.....as far as we know he'll play a couple of songs live and be interviewed ^_^ www.theboylackspatience.com
  14. he also got the public vote on radio......so i'm not entirely biased in my opinion of him being very good ^_^
  15. no doubt' date=' went to see them last December and can say it was the best gig i have ever been to . . . . plus the venue was teeny and we met them and they were lovely . . . now they supporting NIN and hard to book....but i think most people could see that coming.....i think i'm going to go be excited and go and put my Dresden Dolls Pics in my gallery. . . . .....so about support Ross....how does that work, they had a kinda Caberet thang when we went to see them anyway . . . i know someone who might be very appropriate as a support act . . who will have their album recorded by then too[/color']
