  3. Yeah, practice makes perfect! you could also try making sure that theres loads and loads of rosin on your bow cause it makes bowing a lot(!) easier! Just a tip!
  4. im sure you'll be fine! its not that difficult* *may not be true
  5. Yeah, i totally agree! it gets even harder when you bring in instruments such as sax and trumpets which are in totally different clefs to the guitar, thats the main reason i learned theory.
  6. Right, if your making big tuning differences (for example if your peg slips or something) then use the tuning pegs at the top of the cello, but if its only a little difference then use the little pegs just below the bridge of your cello. If your using the pegs at the top, then you are more likely to break the strings. As far as changing strings is concerned, its very similar to changing strings on the guitar but my best recomendation is get someone like a cell teacher or a friend that plays cello to change them so that you dont do any serious damage to the instrument (i.e. snapping off the bridge/ causeing a crack in the wood etc) good luck xxx
  7. yeah, it is cool to have music that only makes sence to you but then again if your wanting to do like higher music or something it really does help to be able to write down what your playing. And plus, just cause you have a skill like theory, doesn't mean you have to use it all the time, its just nice to have.
  8. Woo!! Go falling away!! That song rules!!! xxx
  9. Learning music theory was one of the best things i ever did! It helped my writting and my playing loads cause you learn about all the interesting chords you could use instead of the chords which just fall into a pattern. Plus, if you know theory, then you can write down what you wanna play and other people can play it without you having to teach it to them bar per bar. xxx
  10. Absoultely!! THe gig was fucking increadable (as usual)! You guys really stood out from the rest of the bands. Would be an honour to play with you guys some time. Love porter (ooh and thanks for falling away!)
