  1. Watch those venetian love triangle guys. They accused us of stealing their cymbol stands, arrived affa late, took about 3 hours to sound check and they also bring their own half stacks which take up lots of stage room (pretty shaddy on the drakes stage).
  2. There was a guy selling a marshall 100DFX here a while back - probably the best amp i've seen go up for sale on this site in a while...
  3. As in big Ed pailey????? Brass teacher??? I had him for 4 years and he absolutely resented me as he thought i had no potential.... Muhahahahaha i laughed as he began complimenting me then when showed up his 'star (favourite) pupil' for higher performing..... Muhahahahahahahahahaha Anyway's - [sarcasm] - how can you cope without Mr. Pailey for a few months [End Sarcasm]
  4. I was in here last night - quite a nice wee bar, although i thought it'd be smaller. I was loving the pirate-esqu theme and although i was the youngest person there by about 5 years it was still cool enough. Also impressed by the 'affa reasonable prices. Also knew karen the DJ but never spoke to her.....
  5. Only art school wankers buy it from my work - the kind that thinks it's trendy and hip to be aLtErNaTiVe.com Bought it once (for the reading/leeds 'articles') and it was quite shite, but it's still more relevant than Kerrang....
  6. Couldn't everyone that browses regularly (like the 100 or so daily visitors) not make a pact to spam(with pm's to their inbox) and complain about the signature image if it's to big.... and after 2 days delete their account or something???? They're a much better way of personalising your signature. and with more and more scottish people getting broadband, ther's never been a better time to bring them back. Also is there any way you could get the really old signature maker bit back, (with all the colours, and tabs like centre left right and stuff) because ther's nothing that helps you create them, and most peoples signatures are just plan writing... it makes our forums look very bland...
  7. Free tickets (x2) and say 20 petrol money to anyone that wants to drive down.....
  8. Bump - c'mon people - gotta be some better ones than those....
  9. A lot of the members of the forum put heaps of effort into organising the bandwidth festival which was one of the main reasons that the site's still here, whether it was orginising the 3-day event or playing in it, or even turning up and paying to see the acts, all participants (in theory) descretely own a piece of the website...... like ownership by the people sorta thing. I rekon the fairest way to reach a conclusion is to have an official poll at the top of the wasteland, see what the people want or something.... (Note: I do realise that neil is the driving force of the website and ultimately it's his decision) Since the forums all got moved and named the wasteland didn't generate more than a page a day - the music discussion one got about a page and a half.....
  10. Practice more and more, you might want to try and nail some wierd timing songs or songs with perminantely changing notes, i practice singing and playing CKY songs, they're hard but the satisfaction when you've learned them is pretty good.
  11. Bring Back Signature Images - It makes your signature much more personal and a small banner for a gig could be much more benificial than 20 threads in every forum about it.
  12. I didn't realise i wasn't browsing Music discussion room #6, section B-4 - 'punk bands', sub section A1 modern punk - bands beginning with 'M-P', folder 'O'
  13. Anyone else like it??? I think it's pretty rare and works in a dynamic sort of way going through all the types of song they can nail perfectly... from AFI stuff to ska stuff - But i'm in love with track 5 'chasing myself' or whatever it's called..... mmmmmm Anyone else like it???
  14. I believe the other two bands are We Become Less and Onion Terror - we're stocked to be on the bill. (Dont know if anyone else is gonna be playing) OOOllllaaaayyyy
  15. My favourite 2 songs are 'Nowhere slow' and 'The lapdance is so much better when the stripper is crying' but they change weekly...
  16. Classic Rock - Oasis -'Definately Maybe' (not exactly 'classic' but it's old enough now) Alt Rock - Pink Floyd - 'The Wall Chillout - William Orbit - 'Picies in a modern style' Modern Rock - Beatsteaks - 'Living Targets' Punk Album - Blink 182 - 'Enema Of The State' screw hardcore in the butt with a large plug Ain't heard enough 'emo' to decide Heavy Metal - Metallica - Garage Inc. Pop - Semisonic - Feeling Strangely fine My albums before mid 90's may not be great choices but whats the point in living in the past???
  17. One of these bands that everyone knows through the likes of the bad touch, and the ballad of chasey lain - but whats everyones favourtie BHG songs? Personally, i vouch for 'Use your fingers' more than anything else they've released - some funky basslines and wicked mix between all genres of music... kinda got more rock as they grew. I'm also worried why there hasn't been a release since Hooray For Boobies because i really want to see how they've changed again. Anyone else??
  18. Gig With Squier Strat modified with humbucker at the bridge, and facelift Peavey V-Type with floyd Rose (orange) Marshall 100DFX (managed to get the perfect BHG esque distortion) Marshall bluesbreaker (CheesyOlde effect) Spare's Squier Tele Ibanez GSR 200 Bass (red) Yamaha FX-310 acoustic
  19. I'd say move the chords so you're strumming the highest strings G,B,E and D if you feel lucky.. Good for a first gig, although i recall giving most members something to work on later in the night.... P.s. Your trumpet player owes me a fiver... muhahahaha
  20. white's not cool??? i 'da 'hink so...... i bet you aint even tried a pair of white shoes in the last 3 years, they're comfier (due to more padding) and warmer for the same reason, they have more grip on the soles and are associated with hip hop, what more could you want - they leave those thin, cheap converse all stars in the starting blocks. Ooollaaayyyy
  21. Ladies and Gents, i present to you, the only way forward... P.s. converse shoes blow dogs for quarters....
  22. Quite clearly i was "joshing" about thinking we'd have a 10 rating, those were the days when the terror had a whole 2 gigs and about 30 hours practice behind us, i didn't boast that drakes/lemon tree/wherever wouldn't be ready for us or that we'd be the next best thing since ryan adams. I've not been trying my hardest to not like the weapon, but as myself and others have pointed out - it's the way you all present the band on the forums (which is the epicentre of local music information and such for most users). The stuff i've been saying can also not be classed as slander, it's mostly been advice - but as jamesy's clearly stated - ther's no more point in doing this because you're all big enough to run your own band with the years of experience.... And in the end - as Rob pointed out, this is where most of the 'backlash' comes from, and it's whats turned this thread into the circular debate that it is.... like he said - if you're not willing to drop the InStRuCtIoN-esqu attitude, ther's always gonna be people that dislike your (online) 'ego's'. And it's only the online ones that stink as i've never had a problem with any member of the weapon in real life whether it be on the street, in a pub, or at a gig...
