  1. after megadeth split, the rest of the band and marty friedman tried forming a new band and were looking for a singer. think this pissed dave off a bit, because y'know....obviously they mean shit without him.
  2. should still be showing in the belmont cinema. showings are 1pm and 6pm
  3. i remember being in the toilets and someone had written on the wall "i just had a 13th note soil burger"
  4. that was a good gig. did you see mavis aswell? i thought they were rad. as for the food, aslong as you dont get the burgers or nachos its all good. ive been there a couple of times as a meat eater and never had a problem with it. although i'm a veggie now and had been one before so i'm maybe immune to it? some people cant live without having some nard and scrote in every meal.
  5. i love the 13th note. highly recommend it. played there a couple of years ago, had a blast. doesnt really have a stage, or it does but its not raised. really nice atmosphere. discounts on food for bands too. try the blt!
  6. i thought the sound was great. thought the departure was a little empty sounding compared to record....but i wouldnt really blame the p.a. for this, they are a relatively new band after all. anyway...for me...sound quality at a gig isnt really what i'm concentrating on and isnt what makes or breaks a gig for me. all the bands were the shizzle last night!
  7. girl drink drunk! they did a documentary on their reunion tour a couple of years ago....its pretty cool. including a really horrible in depth view of the guy from news radio getting lazer eye surgery. you can get that film plus brain candy and some of the episodes at playusa.com brain candy is pretty cool too but it actually caused the break up of the kids in the hall. anyone remember gig defeat the devil? that scetch was rad.
  8. dont really think i need to get it going' date=' i know in my head where it should be going and it really isnt working....i may fix it...i dunno...i'll see where i end up after working on some new stuff. ive just had a lecture from motormark saying i should keep doing it.....so i may keep at it. either something new or just become a one man devo tribute act.....mr dna! fucking genius huh? i know har mar works well....i know atom and his package works well....but they both use a lot of humour in the music and performance...something i dont really want to be doing. actually the reason i thought gigs on my own might work was after seeing simon bookish, he was pretty much sans jokes. i like that....i'd like to see him again so i can rip off more of his act. i actually have a strong hatred of using japanese things....because i like japanese stuff but for some reason certain things become ok in some peoples eyes if its related to japan. a good example is yumi yumi....i like them...but ive seen a lot of better beat box bands get slated but somehow yumi yumi were great! why was this? i dont think it was totally down to the boiler suits. i sometimes feel people use the term japanese as too much of a scapegoat to be accepted, even people who arent japanese label themselves as "japanese style"....these bands can kiss my ass. i hate being tagged in with japanese stuff too. uhhhh....sorry... this is kinda straying from the point huh? whats the point again? oh yeah...i'm gonna be the next kenny loggins!
  9. actually the plan was to do a full leangth album on yellow 7"
  10. i never really drop anything....i just put it down for a while and pick it up at a later date. or it gets added into the newer stuff. like the stuff i did at drakes is a big mix of everything ive ever done...the only problem i have with the solo stuff live is....1.its not very live 2.its not fun for me 3.its far to jokey...i'm tired of jokey stuff. i like playing guitar, i like using synthesizers but doing this on my own on a stage is fucking boring to watch, hence the karaoke stuff. the moshulu and drakes gigs i did were a test to see if what i was planning was going to work and i dont think it did, which is why i want to move on to something else. thanks for the kind words though! xx
  11. ive been in a lot of shit bands, but a lot of the people in other bands that ive met in my time have moved away from town or are busy with work or have a new band etc. i'm never sure if answering ads is the best of ideas, because its bands being formed out of similar interests in music rather than friendship. plus i have answered ads before and after meeting the person ive realised that they are a total time waster. i also have the big problem that i can do a lot of stuff and have no real way of describing what a i do. like what i did in hookers green, i wasnt a keyboarder and i cant exactly advertise myself as a synth dude. finding a band where i'm going to fit into is almost impossible and because i can play other stuff and have a wide taste of music and the kind i want to play changes all the time i'm never totally sure what i want to do. hence the identity crisis. anyone else go through a similar thing? someone wanna define me? i'm a bit like a cuter more pretty johnny greenwood, with cooler synth stuff and less pedals......and crossed with eddie van halen.
  12. i bought filth and the fury in hmv a couple of months ago for 6! great buy i thought. i like how the band interviews are filmed in an i.r.a. stylee. i also like how even sting manages to come accross as a prick in it.....i know he always comes accross as a prick but its a film about the sex pistols.
  13. yep....so we were a bunch of cunts yo. seasoned firers by the end of term.
  14. i'm interested to see what people think the best methods for starting a band are. trying to find people that are into the same music as you but have the same level of commitment in aberdeen is a pretty task, so what ways do you find the best? whats the best way to find people? and once you find the people whats the best way to start? one person having a demo or just starting from scratch etc? if you do start from scratch how do you gauge that its good or whatever? i'm into the idea of starting a band but have a few doubts, mainly down to identity crisis and people never being into the idea of working hard. so uhhh...opinions please.
  15. ive heard when bands "split up" then reform without said person is a good method. i also knew a band that phoned up the guy they wanted out of the band and told him they were leaving. like indevidually one after the other....then they formed another band without the guy. then there is the blatant lie ones....where you make up the reason so you seam less harsh....such as "you drink too much" or "you are too young". but to be honest.....i'd say there is nothing better than just being honest with the person and hopefully they will learn from the reasons you give.
  16. it would've been soooo cool to see sparks in drakes.... wouldve been even cooler in old drakes. i actually heard a storey about sparks lights and flames being in the sun or something....with gig listings for some shitty pub in edinburgh and they had a picture of the actual sparks there.....i think people were pretty pissed when they turned up.
  17. dvds: depeche mode - devotional black books series 2 cds: the 2 park attack ones.... i dont normally buy cds...only vinyl...but if a great band is playing and they only have cd i'll let my morals slip.
  18. yeah....but what can you do huh? maybe go to sizzlers?
  19. actually it was a bit of both....you followed us around then i fell in love with you...from then on you were mine! also....there is nothing rad about me....i'm just doing this gig because i'm a fucking sell out and doing what the fans want me to. i will not remember the lyrics and will probably be a bit pissed off. come see me forget the lyrics! yay...
  20. ok....see someone did actually pm me....but they didnt get back when i replied.....so! heres the deal....whos free around 5pm on thursday(30th) and can find cannons healthclub/the old odeon. pm me....and we can make arrangements for collection
  21. fights for the bmx will be held this thursday applicants sign below. oh yeah...the breaks dont work very well...but you can easily replace or fix them. xx
  22. man that'd suck if the person doing your grades was in the NF!
  23. i'm moving out of my flat so need to ditch some of the junk. some of that junk may be of interest. i have an old bmx....a bit like a raliegh burner but shit....it has pads on it....and they say malborough!!!! raaad! want it? its yours! i also have an old pc....i think its from 1989 or something....i have no idea if it works...its been sitting in my bathroom cupboard for the last 5 years....it comes with a monitor and a bunch of discs....it has loads of programming software on it....and sim city! want it? its yours!
