  1. Actually when you go to see the locust you have to be the one impressing them........
  2. Heres a taster All Downhill From Here The 1st single....think its available now?? Good....but its NFG by numbers....could have been an extra track from the last album...hmm...lets hope they kick up something new on this album....
  3. I was dissapointed by that performance .... is it a new guitarist? The 2nd vocals are a lot cooler...the singer just acts/sounds like that guy off Fame Academy...and thats awful!
  4. Thats what was emo years ago....seriously...
  5. cheapest and cheeriest clothes.....Asda George Punx....
  6. Haven't been following the progress of this album as much as I did Blink's last one, but what I've heard of it sounds good!!
  7. So this is art punk? Think of a number....divide it by 2....something is nothing....nothing is nothing...open a box....tear off the lid...think of a number...don't think of an answer..... I love that song to death but I couldn't tell you the fucking first thing what it is about :D:D:D
  8. hehe......didn't get kicked out of art for nothing....
  9. FACE TO FACE - I won't lie down FACE TO FACE - Prodigal FACE TO FACE - Pathetic and a load of more songs by them....but yeah these 3 are never off...
  10. So I guess the conclusion of this is....that if you're fucking minted and don't mind wasting money and can drive, you're sorted....you may be the shittest band ever, but you can play gigs anywhere.... And if you're 16, not much money, just left school, don't have a rich mummy and daddy and they have no car...you're fucked....great encouragement for new bands....
  11. This is emo.... ...no really....it is....
  12. 24 - 2 hours practice night before -MAYBE AT CAPTAIN TOMS Well yes, some of us don't have the luxury of being able to practice in our houses or pay a monthly charge for a lock up as A. we live in flats B. we aren't in the city for the whole month to make it worthwhile, so yeah, a quick 2 hour practice the night before the gig is essential...they don't call us Inept 303 for fucking nothing.... 5 - set of new strings - THATS BULLSHIT, I SNAPPED A STRING ONCE IN ABOUT 8 GIGS I'd hate to hear a guitar that hasn't had its strings changed in 8 gigs, dunno about you, but my hands get so sweaty whilst playing a gig that it ruins the strings.....also, did you have a spare set of strings after yu snapped that string???? 6 - cans of juice drunk at practice (so you don't die) - WHERE YOU BUYING THESE DRINKS FROM?? A band of 3 drinking 2 cans of red bull within 2 hours.... 2 - handful of plectrums - WHAT ARE YOU ON. IS THIS FOR A LIFETIMES GIGING IN ADVANCE 2 would only buy about 4 plectrums, again these wear down really easily and once worn down these snap strings very easily and are harder to play with if you're not so lucky to have transport 15 on taxis (both ways) - YOU MIGHT WANT TO FIND A REAL WAY TO TRAVEL Still waiting for Scotty to beam me to gigs I know... 30 on blank CD's to sell at gig (and a whole day wasted copying them, and no ones buying any) - YOU WOULD HAVE TO BE TOTALLY FUCKING OUT OF YOUR MIND ON DRUGS TO ACTUALLY COPY OVER 20 CD'S NEVER MIND 100. USE A MAILING LIST NEXT TIME You never know....back in the day it was easy to sell 50 tapes (and still be asked for more) and sitting through 50 tapes copying was a lot worse than 50 CD's....and tapes cost more to produce than CD's....and also, 20 cd's 10, 20 covers = 20..... 20 on drinks at the gig (at some venues, this can consist of as little as a pint each member) - THE ONLY PLAUSABLE ITEM ON YOUR LIST. APART FROM THE FACT THAT BEER DOESN'T COST MORE THAN 3 ANYWHERE IN ABERDEEN THAT PROMOTES LIVE MUSIC I weep for those bands with 9 members.... BESIDES.....that wasn't the fucking point, I don't write out an expenses list and give it to promoters....but getting back to the original point, for someone to think bands should be "grateful" for gigs (well, 1 or 2 should be) and that expecting ANY money at all was playing at rock stars....then just remember that its not a free lunch for anyone....sometimes the money isn't even the main concern, its the appreciation that you've done a good gig...for the record, we haven't always been paid huge amounts of money from say The Moorings or Lava (but then we have played to about 5 people) although we've always been asked if we enjoyed the gig, and thanked for playing.....and that alone can recoup the expenses as it feels justified....the audience appreciating your music is a bonus I guess.....maybe thats just cos we suck or aren't flava of the month....whatever, I've probably made 100 in my almost 10 year "career" in music.....but I'm not giving up......
  13. Has the guitar got single coil pickups, and is there something creating a static field nearby? My strat will buzz like a bitch near a TV / comp monitor / fan etc... unless I switch to using 2 pickups, in which case it effectively creates a humbucker like effect....may be that???
  14. Hey I'm with you man...but seriously...some "respected" people in the "DIY scene" (bob the builder) can sleep perfect at night after telling a handful of bands "uhh sorry...its all DIY, we can't pay you....." and once upon a time I'd say "yeah, its cool!". I'm all for free gigs, free gigs for charity etc.....just count me out these days :D
  15. I based the figures on what I've spent before all gigs I've played in the last year and a half.....yes I am in serious debt
  16. Obviously said by an idiot, or someone in a crap band / not in a band at all.... Once upon a time, I'll admit I had a slightly biased view (heavily influenced by the DIY ethics of punk, which don't always translate very well)...and bascially thought that high amounts of money being payed for playing a 20 minute gig was a bit of a joke, and that money to cover petrol (fucking essential, punk or not) maybe some beers and a tenner or so to go towards the amount of money you spent (or wasted as the case sometimes feels) towards prepping for the gig (strings, practice, batteries, sticks, skins, cymbals etc.) was adequate.....this is all fine and well...although this was never the reality, playing for a tenner starts to suck after a while after 24 - 2 hours practice night before 5 - set of new strings 6 - cans of juice drunk at practice (so you don't die) 2 - handful of plectrums if you're not so lucky to have transport 15 on taxis (both ways) 30 on blank CD's to sell at gig (and a whole day wasted copying them, and no ones buying any) 20 on drinks at the gig (at some venues, this can consist of as little as a pint each member) Total money you spent prepping for that gig: 102......for a local gig....and you get 10, net loss -92 Band/Members are then down 92....new gig, spend same again, get even less....band have then plunged almost 200 into nothing.... So anyone that says bands don't deserve to be paid and that money is a bonus....fuck off Of course....things could be planned better....and if you to play to a crowd of 5 then obviously theres not really going to have been enough money generated to pay your expenses.....so bands should put in that extra effort to ensure a crowd turns up....this is an art in itself and if anyone in Aberdeen in a band that doesn't go to school or have a lot of mates that like the same music perfects it, let me know!!!!!
  17. The album got pretty old pretty fast.....I remember when I couldn't wait to hear "I miss you", no I switch off when it comes on TV/radio..... Bands always take a risk when they totally change style.... BAD RELIGION - Slated FACE TO FACE - Slated (although I love their changed style, although they went back to their roots, same as bad religion) OFFSPRING - Loved (although anyone with half a brain knows their earlier stuff is better) BLINK - Slated (by "enema" fans) GREEN DAY - dunno.....

  22. its a mono 3.5mm jack (the line in is stereo, mic in is mono). The box actually has a 6.4mm out, and a phase revers switch, so maybe just need to muck about with a 6.4mm to 3.5mm lead.....first thing first though is reinstalling windows on my PC
