che
che' date=' two words, freeeeeee hostingloose change aint enough for said rip off merchant price.[/quote']of course free hosting is there. but with no uptime guarentee, and no bandwidth. if there are going to be "video downloads" then free hosting probably won't be enough (if they expect anyone to download the videos)zipa.com are one of the best hosts I've ever encountered, basic linux hosting starts at $3/month with free setup..hardly breaking the bank...and until the end of 2004, unlimited bandwidth/transfer. Guest onlynik
Paying for hosting is no problem - it's for a client.Craig Have you tried the clients ISP, they normally supply some space, and can offer concessionary accounts and services to keep them. Neil
...and until the end of 2004' date=' unlimited bandwidth/transfer.[/quote']No such thing. If they are claiming to offer this then they are talking bollocks. Always stay well clear of web hosts who offer "unlimited bandwidth". Like everything - if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.
Mike iD
Absolutely. There's simply no way hosts can have a viable long term business model saying unlimited this or that, they have to pay for upstream bandwidth somewhere along the line and are gambling that most clients won't use much bandwidth. You tend to find that anybody using 'unlimited' blurb is a fairly far downstream reseller and the further from the source you get, the worse the support and overall quality of service.
