THE RED SHOW

“This band have some of the funkiest guitar riffs and powerful vocals worthy of any signed band. It was clear how well rehearsed and accomplished they are by how tightly they performed and how well they were received” - Digging Your Scene

"Straight-up, no-frills rock - there's a real grit and power to this lot that will no doubt see them evolve and thrive as we head into 2010." - Click Music

'I've now seen The Red Show live as well - such a rich vein of bluesy rock flowing through them, but [they're] contemporary with it. And the next time The White Stripes or Queens Of The Stone Age, and indeed any heavyweight rockers appear in Scotland and need support, look no further than The Red Show.' - Jim Gellatly

A two-piece based in Glasgow, The Red Show play direct, energetic blues-edged rock with funky riffs and bold rhythms.

support: THE PORK-CHOP EXPRESS

"Heavy rock based with a hint of punk and a dash of metal," is how this band describe themselves. You may recognize a couple of their number from former punkrock sensations, Johnny Skyscraper.

HEADLESS KROSS

Time, that Destroyer of Days, the force that marches us irresistably towards death, has a new drum major. With their unrelenting pscyhedelic-tinged doom, Headless Kross, a three-piece drawn from the depths of Scotland's underground music scene, have made it their mission to provide us with a monolithic soundtrack as we trudge towards the End Times.

Viscious, primal, unforgiving – it's no coincidence that they called their punishing debut album 'Bear' (avaliable at http://headlesskross.bandcamp.com/) - their ferocity deserves to be compared to no lesser a creature. But Headless Kross are not merely vessels of bestial noise - they are blessed with a higher state of conciousness that allows them to transcend this Earthly bind and take the listener on a celestial exploration of rock's outer limits - where they transmit riffs so perfect, lesser mortals are driven to invade the stage and try and steal the notes for themselves like a backwards child snatching at glittering sunbeams.

DEATH WATCH

www.facebook.com/deathwatchdoom

Tuned low and played slow since 2006. A sludge band heavily inspired by the sound of Louisiana, enduring low pay and shitty weather. Slow. Heavy. Brutal. Death Watch.

First act onstage 9pm, second act 10pm. Strictly 18+ only. Free entry before 8.45pm, £3 thereafter until close. From 11pm, we present DJ Jester and his night of musical fun: 'Jokers Wild'. At this stage, we have little way of knowing what he'll be playing, but we expect he'll be entertaining. Oh yes.

PSYDOLL

Do you know what we haven't had enough of in the bar recently?

Japanese Industrial Metal!

Some of our older readers may remember seeing these guys (and girl) in Dr. Drakes many moons ago. Infact, they've played the Moorings before too. They were awesome, needless to say. The Tokyo based goth/metal/industrial trio (Nekoi: vocals/keyboards, Ucchi: guitar/programming, Uenoyama: percussion), can't wait to make your aquantance, Aberdeen. Don't let them down.

[ ]

A duo, formed over a mutual love of Lighting Bolt, Porcupine Tree, Neurosis and TOOL. Although trying to combine these and other influences into one cohesive musical entity may seem like a bizarre and futile effort, [ ] have decided to make no qualms about being genrehopping, noise loving, pretentious bastards, and are loving every minute of it.www.facebook.com/its.pronounced.Wall

First act onstage 9pm, second act 10pm. Strictly 18+ only. Free entry before 8.45pm, £3 thereafter until close. DJ Beard Fury will provide epic tunage with his night Shiprocked right up to 3am. By which time we'll all be drunk, with luck. Expect Clutch meets Justice meets Deftones meets Muse meets bluegrass meets who-the-fuck-knows: it could end virtually anywhere, musically speaking.

THE SCOTT CRUICKSHANK TRIO.

If you fancy some funk rock ‘n’ rare grooves as well as skanking ska, then you're in luck tonight: the support act bring some jazzy funk to the party, for a classic Moorings double-bil from the gods. With extra added trombone.

THE MALPASO GANG

On a mission from God (AKA Hank Williams) to bring their infectious brand of alt. old country to the masses. I'd quite like to see some line-dancing going down, but we'll see...
