Fudge Industries International and the Moorings Bar proudly present:

Friday 20th April - ‘Release Your Kraken' with DJ Woolie and two live bands.

MISS THE OCCUPIER

"The songs blast Sister-era Sonic Youth through ace girl group melodies... it's basically off centre pop music with sharp, muscular angles. And it's sexy as f--k to boot." - Plan B magazine

"With the smashing debut album Recovery Position finally under their belt, we get yet another set of effortless edgy pop. Punk. Rock. Pop. It’s hard to pinpoint them. This is half the joy of the band. The other being you don’t really want to.. Someone should give them tons of money, so we can all start bitching about them." - Is This Music?

THE PEEPERS

A brand-new hard rocking power pop trio whose influences include The Lemonheads, The Posies, Teenage Fanclub and Brendan Benson. All songs are guaranteed to be

between three and three and a half minutes and tackle existentialist despair with melody.

MORAL DILEMMA

Born of the London squat scene, the band has spent the past six years tearing the U.K. live scene a new one. From gigs played through makeshift PAs in graffiti-scrawled, piss-smelling buildings to gracing the stages of the Reading and Leeds festivals, Moral Dilemma has undertaken a relentless journey through every gritty corner of the U.K. and Europe. The band even made time to record a session at the world-famous BBC Maida Vale Studios for the Radio 1 Punk Show.

The band’s live shows are renowned for their ferocity and intensity, two qualities that have not so much seeped through as they have flooded Moral Dilemma’s recorded output. Having been dismissed by some as just another punk band, Moral Dilemma continues to push the boundaries of the scene in which it sits. There’s a lot more depth to this band than studs and traditional clichés. Having graced the same stage as the likes of The King Blues, Sick Of It All, Swingin’ Utters, Leftöver Crack, Trash Talk, The Subhumans, The Skints, and Random Hand, this is a band that knows how to lay waste to France, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Sweden (Punk Illegal festival), Norway and the Czech Republic.

SAME JANE

Good time party rock'n'roll, nothing less. This blistering blues-rock four-piece from Perth, with an appetite for destruction and a pocketful of dreams, are making their debut in the bar: "Over the past five years we have built up a repetoire of jive-able ballbusting material," they enthuse. Featuring a couple of members of Bar Room Crawl (who played a couple of weeks ago).

www.facebook.com/samejaneband

The support for this gig, The Blind Faiths have pulled out of the show after double-booking themselves. If you could play, give me a yell ASAP.

DISTORTED TRUTH

Punks, eh? Sometimes I wish they were capable of producing a decent biog of sorts. Instead, I'm forced to make things up. Things like, "They hate politicians and social elitism, but they're quite fond of loud guitars, and once played a set to Rolf Harris while stuck in an elevator in Fraserburgh."

ACRYLIC IQON

Acrylic iQon evolved in their final year of school in Clydebank, Glasgow, and it progressed from there and they’ve been playing together since 2006 and are loving every minute of it. Although just into their twenties, they have played all over Scotland with some amazing bands, supporting Golden Silvers, Stone Gods, Viva Machine, Zoey Van Goey, Drive by Argument, El Dog and The Features to name but a few.

“Their Pop epics, like “Living Up for the Letdown” and “Adventurous” have the habit of rushing into full-blown anthems …. a tangle of thumping drums and crunching guitars .... like a ruck between Belinda Carlisle and The Ruts. Ace!”

- AAAA ( Awesome ) - Stephen Hughs, News of the World.

The Rag N Bone Man is a one man band from the bowels of Scotland. Amped up explosive adrenaline fuelled, one man band brutal trash blues. A noise propelled by pounding drum beats and cymbals, a sheer racket so loud and dangerous it should carry a government health warning. The Rag N Bone Man sound is a wave from the future at the same time being a ferocious blast from the past. A sound more addictive than sex and every bit as mind blowing.
