Alan Cynic
After 4 years of abuse my mini-disc recorder passed away yesterday, and I'm looking to buy a cheap, but serviceable, replacement.I need one with a microphone input....not bothered about the make as long as it works OK. You were served by my collegue. I've got a mini-disc recorder (not a hi-md one) with a mic input that i'd maybe be willing to part with, i'll have to check whether its working or not as i haven't used it in a while. It's boxed though and hasn't been used much. Not sure on prices yet, i'd have to have a think.....
Alan Cynic
Sounds good, so long as it functions. The ones in Bruce Millers didn't have mike inputs, unfortunately.

Sony only do two portable models one is a dictaphone and the other is 249 o_O And no-one else does them these days. A bit of a dead media

Alan Cynic
Thanks Del and Alkaline, but the threat to my future recordings has been averted by the kindly intervention of Mr Dusty Deviada, who is exchanging his reserve mini-disc for a Tune-a-Day subscription:up:

Stripey
do you use a battery powered preamp for recording to minidisc? Could you recommend one?
Alan Cynic
No...no preamp....I assume you need one because the minidisc is line only??For recording live stuff, or piano (to save humphing it up to my loft) I go straight in, using a Sony ECM 727P mike, which does the job well enough for my cloth ears.
