Bodast
Slight digression; has anybody else replaced vinyl with a cd' date=' yet still find yourself expecting a track to jump at the usual place, where it's jumped on the scratched lp for the last 35 years? [/quote']Yeah (well for a couple of years, not 35). The one that sprang to mind is that my copy of Foxtrot by Genesis does a squeaking sound just before "A flower?" opens Willow Farm. On CD, the squeak alert isn't there so I get surprised by it. X-(
Steve Temple
This might sound redundant' date=' but are you sure that the turntable is absolutely level? Even a slight imbalance can affect some record players. Also, has it got a counterweight/anti-skating device? That might be worth playing about with.[/quote']No, it was balanced precariously atop my stereo, but I've shifted it now, and...it works fine! "Young Folks" 12" has stopped skipping, and is back to being the best thing ever.

voodoo_chile
I've got one of the Project Debuts (in boring black I'm afraid), and they're ace...provided you don't mind a bit of setting up once it arrives...
