Ollie
stroszek played the tunnels the other evening and it was a huge improvement from the moorings gig. Richie grew in confidence as the night went on. Les's guitar parts are pretty unique in Aberdeen, very catchy. New bassist is also really good and reads les well. Great to see a band like this coming out of Aberdeen at this point in time, hopefully theyll be succesful elsewhere.EDITTED

Steve Temple
Stroszek are the real thing.the guitar parts which are expressive' date=' deep, emotional, dark and poppy are supported by strong artistic basslines which although feed off Les's guitar work also support Richies dark vocal melodies as well as backing up the drum machine. The drum machine is the central aspect of Stroszek as it acts as drving force in which the whole band feed off of.the guitar parts are fast becoming a recognisable force in Aberdeen. Just dinnae turn yer back to the crowd so much les, you have a pretty face, we wanna see u work that geetar baby! After all this isnt a band obsessed with image but rather they are a band obsessed with making good music that touches you in a way money never could[/quote']Fine, but can you dance to them?(actually, I know the answer to that as I was down on the discofloor when their tune was played in Exodus. Just making a point, is all)

Guest bluesxman
That's a pretty sycophantic review there, especially listing those bands as 'peers'. Hope you haven't killed off their chances by lofting too high an expectation on them!EDIT - This no longer applies since the review was made more sensible! Do the right thing: Ignore Ollie's pish!
Steve Temple
Do the right thing: Ignore Ollie's pish! It's already doneI also danced to them (at Exodus). So long as they offer the possibilty of that, rather than "artistic basslines", I'll give them a chance
