if you dont know them here's a review...

newnoise.net Live Review

Sometimes surprises are nice. Mostly they are not. But Cayto are one of the nice ones.

Cayto are the kind of band that sneaks up on you. Everything about them, from their music to their presence, can be as quiet and unassuming as Clark Kent. So understated are they as a band that many are not even aware of their existence.

Glasgow's Cayto are unpredictable. Many people are put off by the band's refusal to stick to one recognisable genre. They nimbly move from jolly piano-led pop romps, to brooding post-rock via Shellac-influenced guitar noise, and of course Sonic Youth-style buzz-saw pop.

Although, in some ways, they are typical of the archetypal Scottish indie-rock band. These bands seem to revel in their own joyful obscurity. They thrash about and occasionally shout without a care in the world. They can be loud and they can be quiet, sometimes in the same song. Genius.
