Guest tv tanned Posted June 1, 2005 Report Share Posted June 1, 2005 Singer Harvey 'crushed under car' Singer Brian Harvey is in a critical condition in an east London hospital after he fell under the wheels of his own car, police have said. The former East 17 pop star was crushed underneath his Mercedes convertible outside his home in Walthamstow. The incident, which happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning, follows two alleged suicide attempts. Harvey, who is thought to have multiple fractures and abdominal injuries, is being treated at Whipps Cross Hospital. There were no passengers in the car which ended up in collision with another vehicle. A Scotland Yard spokesman said police had been called to the scene by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 0153 BST on Tuesday. "The circumstances of the collision are being investigated but at this early stage we believe the man may have fallen from the driver's side of the Mercedes convertible while reversing from an access road into the street," the spokesman added. "He was alone in the car at the time and no other driver was involved." An LAS ambulance and two fast response cars were at the scene within minutes. 'Cry for help' Last week, Harvey was taken to hospital after his second reported overdose of sleeping tablets in a month. His spokesman described it as "a cry for help". The singer, who has been diagnosed with clinical depression, split from model girlfriend Emma B this month. She finished appearing on Five reality show The Farm last week. Harvey has previously boasted about drug-taking, admitting swallowing 12 ecstasy tablets in one night. He has failed to replicate the success he had in early-1990s boy band East 17 since attempting a solo career. Last year he appeared on jungle-based reality show I'm a Celebrity...
