  1. I said pretty much that about Jose but the post didn't send for some reason. He just seems like a total dick now. He was always arrogant but quite funny/charming with it. I now hope Chelsea get relegated. He lacks the class that Bobby Martinez oozes.
  2. Just read that Schumacher's sedation is being reduced to 'start the waking process'. Got to be honest, I didn't hold out much hope for him surviving when I heard the condition he was in. Hopefully he somehow makes a full recovery.
  3. You know what you need? Some fucking discipline in your life.
  4. Holy shit. Give it up, dude.
  5. Been kinda wondering about this too except you're probably better to look at something like Doge instead as it's in its infancy and can still apparently be mined easily. I don't really know that much about it but I got a link to a step by step guide which I'll give a blast. Don't have the link to hand but it's on reddit - a quick search for Doge would probably find it for you.
  6. Aye ok - I get the point(s). You've managed to change my view - well done. Dubya - that sounds pretty horrendous but, ah fuck it, I don't think I'll get across on here exactly what I'm on about. I'm certain there's been a shift away from respecting teachers etc. Anyway - Pet Hates!
  7. So - I didn't realise you could do the whole 'list' thing until I read this post.I don't follow many on Twitter but liked the idea so just did likewise and sorted all I'm following into lists. I did that on my PC but when I look at Twitter on my iPhone it still looks exactly the same. Can I view the lists on an iPhone? EDIT: Found it with the assistance of Google!
  8. Christ - my Twitter account got hacked the other week and I hadn't noticed that I'm now following loads of people that I wasn't previously following.
  9. Cheers min - Ella's 13 months now. Just preparing her for a life in the armed forces now. She's finished her morning drills, made her cot and polished her peppa welly boots. She's just pressing her tights just now. If I find any creases she'll be on laps of the living room for the rest of the morning.
  10. Sorry - I was bathing my daughter and putting her off to bed... That somehow makes my views more relevant or something. I'll just leave it there - it was a flippant comment I got drawn into defending. Let's get back to pet hates.
  11. I said 'or something similar' as well which wasn't picked up on not was the rest of the post. It's more about discipline and a respect for authority - I think something like national service would help with this. I haven't given a huge amount of thought but perhaps what I mean is 'military training' or something. People (not just kids) expect things handed on a plate and don't want to have to work for things and earn them for themselves. By 'people' I don't mean all people on the entire planet or in the country. Just an awful lot of people. Jan - I'm an oil and gas lawyer which I'm sure will be met with 'that explains a lot' or whatever. But yeah, knock yourself out. Like I said - the majority of my post was to do with how kids and their parents can be a nightmare these days (more so than say 20 years ago) rather than offering up a definite solution but why let that get in the way of a good internet argument?
  12. Because opinions that differ from yours are unacceptable, presumably.
  13. Ask your Mum how it's changed since we were kids at Mintlaw Academy I'm sure she'll back it up. My other mate who's mum was also a teacher there was absolutely desperate to retire by the time it came round a couple of years ago. I'm not saying I wasn't a little shit at times (because I definitely was) and that there weren't kids who were a nightmare (because there definitely were) but the teachers definitely had far more 'control'. I've said for years that a bit of national service would probably help. Or something like that. The problem is we're about 4th generation or so since it was abolished and the respect for authority has gradually diminished to the point where the kids who used to have no respect for authority are now the parents and even the grandparents. Things like parents public ally criticising teachers on Facebook due to the amount of homework their kids get (for example). Kids are all on Facebook - they see that sort of behaviour and instantly lose any respect for that teacher because the grown ups they look up to are slating the teacher etc etc.
  14. I DESPAIR I tell you. Kids get it their own way far too much these days. I sound like my fucking Granda but I don't care. There's been a monumental shift in my lifetime from kids having to do what they're told without it being brutal (as in getting beaten up by parents/teachers) to kids just running amok with parents who could not give one fuck. And parents who think their kids can do no wrong. That fucks me off a lot. I got a real insight into how a lot of parents are when I did kids' football coaching and my wife being a primary school teacher. If I ever catch myself siding with my daughter when she's got in trouble for something I will punch myself in the face. My mum or dad's response to me if I went home from school and complained about getting an unjust punishment or something was to get in more trouble from them because I must have been misbehaving if the teacher was dishing out punishments or detentions or whatever. It was so UNFAIR at the time but I can now see that to make a teacher's job possible they need the support of the parents otherwise it's a fucking nightmare.
  15. Assholes who phone out of the blue with marketing shit. The usual doors and windows shite is annoying enough but about a year ago some guy called me up offering me their guide to world commodities trading. I told him I wasn't interested but in the end to get him off the phone I allowed him to send me the guide in the post. I got the guide and a follow up call later in the year and I told him I wasn't interested in the slightest as I didn't have any spare cash to trade in world commodities. Assumed that would be the end of it. Well a guy (could be the same guy) called Ben from this same place just cold-called me to tell me the 2014 guide is now out and to check my address was still the same etc. The conversation went a bit like this: 'Yes, that's still my address but I'm not interested in the guide to be honest.' 'Oh, do you not trade anymore?' 'No, I never did.' 'So you've never had any stocks and shares?' 'No' 'Thats funny, it says here that you did. You must have lied previously - that makes sense.' What a prick. If I wasn't at work and in an open plan office I wouldn't have just let that one to but I just laughed at him and hung up. Fucking twat.

  17. My commute to work is about 5 minutes if I take my fighter jet and I can get parked in the car park.
  18. Fuck all this Mata chat. I've just heard that Adam Rooney and fucking JASON SCOTLAND are at Pittodrie for medical a right now. Source: a mate of mine. No idea where he gets his info but he's normally accurate.
  19. I don't own enough Curators music. Need to remember to download your tunes and might even buy a t-shirt...! Echo the comments - definitely one of the best bands we played with too!
  20. This is my pet hate. People (women generally) who don't put the whole thing down. Lazy bastards moan like fuck if a bloke doesn't put the seat down but they don't do the civil thing and put the lid down before flushing. The lid has clearly been put there for a reason - to stop any splash/germs etc getting out when you flush.I thought I was the only person in the world who actually put the lid down. Back to ca_gere's post - I wouldn't be offended. The vast majority of guys don't actually have any toilet etiquette. The condition I sometimes find the toilet at work in is shocking. I'm not just talking about a wee bit of pish on the seat or the floor either. I once found that someone had shaken the drips far too vigorously and it was all over the top of the fucking cistern. Unbelievable. I work in the office of an oil company - supposedly surrounded by 'professionals'. Savages more like.
  21. That Stokes tackle has nothing to do with Karma. Stokes is just a thug every time he tackles.
  22. Bit of a doing for Man Utd there. Rafael's two footer on Cahill deserved a punch in the face. He should be locked in the changing room with Cahill and see how tough he is... Little cunt. No excuse for tackling like that.
  23. I typed a long reply but it disappeared... Basically the league's far better without Rangers and would be even better without Celtic.
  24. I thought I'd seen that Kaiser Chiefs lead singer somewhere before. He was Charlene in neighbours.
