  1. Does any of the sushi places in Aberdeen do a pick n mix takeaway?

When I was in New Zealand it was hard to find cheap places to get a light lunch but EVERY little town had a couple of sushi bars which did a pick n mix selection for a dollar or two per piece. It was awesome. Does anywhere in Aberdeen do that or is it all set meals or 6 pieces of the same type of roll?

Sushi is mega popular down under since they're so close to Japan and have loads of immigrants from there.

This doesn't actually answer your question, though, sorry. I think YO! do a takeaway but but aye, it's packs of six or whatever I believe.

  2. So it's payday tomorrow. I want Football Manager 13.

Am I right to think Steam is still necessary to run this version? Milner mentioned previously in this thread that Macs and Steam don't tend to sing in harmony; can anyone elaborate on this? I intend to install FM13 on my Mac, as I don't feel my laptop can handle it.

I play a lot of Football Manager on my Mac. Steam seems to be pretty buggy, GUI-wise, on it, but it's functional enough. It does the job just not all that well.

  3. Dude, if you think that's hard, go to the Shrine of Azura, find Azura's star and then try and complete that quest. It's completely fucking nails and took me FOREVER to get it done.

    Fucking Daedra.

I might annoy the missus and go on a massive Skyrim bender tonight.

The daedra quests are all pretty hard. Really good to be able to do them though, some of them really hard to work out how to even begun them though.

  4. I had absolutely no idea that was the case, thank you. So for the most part, enemies are gonna be suited to my level (around 10)? I did think that fucking a dragon up was annoyingly easy, actually.

    xx

They are indeedy. I think dragons are usually an exception. I learned somewhere that the green-skinned ones are easier than (say) the white-skinned ones, and the "Dragons" are easier than the "Elder Dragons" and so on. I think they also get easier as you move up levels, but you encounter the more difficult varieties more often when you do.

Edit: I think "somewhere" was a pause screen.

  5. Skyrim.

Loving it, but it took a shile to get into. Big problem I have with this type of game is that when I run into a random cave or side mission, I have no idea if I'm supposed to be able to kill the motherfuckers I encounter or if I should backtrack and level up first. This means I either backtrack too readily and forget about quests that I could nail with some time and perseverance, or it means I bang my again against a wall trying to bring down a couple of giants who keep fucking me mercilessly.

    xx

Here's a hint you probably already know but might not about giants:

They're one of the very few enemies in Skyrim that remain consistently at the same level (32) no matter what your level is. So if you're bumbling around at level 10, leave them the fuck alone. If you're about level 40-50 they're a piece of piss.

  6. I thought EWSIF were utterly amazing, totally wasn't expecting that (being relatively new to the local scene really) and it was highly enjoyable. Would defo see yous again.

Obviously Seas, Starry and Das McManus were also fantastic (Say Hi song was an absolute treat, can't believe you played that!) as were His Name Is Codeine, although I think I've seen them before still consistently good. Woo!

  7. Al-oo-min-um instead of Aluminium. They didn't like the last I, so they just don't say it.

New-cu-ler instead Nuclear. They add a vowel between the C and the L. Why?

They are bad at saying words

Pedantically, Americans spell "aluminum" <- like that. No idea why, but it means the pronunciation is technically correct.

  8. The best new feature to FIFA13 is definitely the face-melting apocalypse and full body dislocation. It's something wrongfully absent from all previous footie sims

That screenshot/GIF is from FIFA 12, not 13. It was in a KSIOlejideBT vidya on YouTubez about a year ago.

  9. I reckon you dodged a bullet, working for the Apple store seems soul destroying to me.

To be honest, getting paid to talk about products I use and enjoy using seems like the ideal job for me. But yeah, Apple is a bit of a dick company overall now I guess.

  10. Not so much a "pet hate" as a "thing that made me a bit depressed" - Just seen one of the guys I was in a group interview with at Apple who is now working there. I didn't even think he was that amazing during the interview which makes it sting a little bit. Ah well.
