  1. Thanks guys this is very helpful, but I think the Radio King is slightly out of the budget range.
  2. I am looking to purchase a new snare and trying to wade my way through the countless option available. I play rock music and I am looking for a snare with a nice fat sound that will cut through. I currently have a Tama 14 x 5 1/2 birch snare, but find it too bright with too much over ring. I have tried all head and tuning options and have given up trying to get a nice fat sound out it. I am looking to get some info on others use to narrow my search in finding a snare that will produce a nice warm fat sound, but still cut through. Any suggestions greatly appriciated.
  3. Fish and Nazareth are playing at Crathes Castle on the 14th August. Tickets are on sale right now. Its being promoted by New Dawn Events. Here is the web site address; 14th August | New Dawn Events See you there!!!!
  4. Any bass players out there who would love to have the bass slung low, but afraid you'll put your back out? Or bang your head, but worried you will be sued by an audience member as they are blinded by the spot light off your follicly challenged head? Do you have to play it loud just to hear it these days? Getting old's a bitch, but It doesn't mean you can't still rock. Just have to keep the arm chair close by for the occassional rest. Fancy getting together with a guitarist and a drummer who are not ready for the pipe, slippers and Zimmer frame circuit just yet. Can't promise a future headline gig at Madison Square Garden, but do you fancy playing covers of some of those bands who have? The guitarist is into; UFO, Lizzy, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Rainbow, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Saxon, Kingdom Come, Sabbath (Dio era), Purple and Zep. I can go with all of that and add a bit 90's and 00's rock into the mix as well. Interested?
  5. I am a 40 something drummer who is looking for others at the moment. I am into classic rock and modern rock. If you are interested PM me.
  6. I am a drummer who is looking to join a band or link up with guitarist(s), bass player, keyboard player, vocalist. I am into classic rock (Zeppelin, Purple, Whitesnake, Lizzy, Bad Company, Skynerd etc) also newer stuff like Thunder, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Audioslave, Black Crows, Shinedown, Seether, Voodoo Six. I stopped playing for a while. I never lost the bug and started playing again recently when I got myself an electronic kit. Still have the acoustic kit and really want play with others again.
  7. I am. I will PM you with some info about me.
  8. Are you still looking for a drummer?
  9. Thanks again for the info. A question for you where did you son try the gear. Was it local?
  10. I will try these out. Thanks again for the infomation. I am an accoustic kit man of many years and all this amp stuff baffles me. Your imput has really helped. I hope your son get on OK with Carlsbro's.
  11. Thanks for the response. That is realy helpful and confirms my findings as I have been trawling the Vdrums forum and think I have an option. The JBL Eon G2 active PA amp gets a lot of positive thumbs up. Its a bit pricey, but it sounds like it handles the top and bottom frequencies. Has your son tried this one?
  12. Drummer available Hi I saw your post and you have very similar msuical tastes to myself. I am in the same situation as I have had a long lay off due to same reasons you mentioned, but I am getting back into playing again. I just got myself an electronic kit so I can practice again without driving the street mad. I still have my old acoustic kit as well, that will just need a good dust. I live in Aberdeen and have transport. One thing to mention is that I work offshore. I am on a 2 weeks away 3 weeks at home rota. Not sure if this would be a problem for you.
  13. I am looking to buy an amp for my Vdrums. I am need something that will good for playing with a band. Does anyone have any recommendations? Been looking at review sites, but it gets a bit confusing after while. It would be good to hear from anyone who is using an electronic drum with an amp.
