  1. YUS! a "make it work" program! almost as good as a button! =P Ta very much. I'll give that a bash.

Oh and I'm using Krystal Audio Engine at the moment. Its pretty pants as far as features go... but its free, so I'm not complaining. I just download VSTs anyway.

  2. Hey. I record wee scraps of music here and there onto my laptop, just for the hell of having them down incase i want to use them later. The problem is, i get alot of delay, like im playing along to my programs built in metronome then when it comes up after on the screen, the sound waves are miles off the actual beat. And then obviously when i try to record vocals on top of that, they are out of sync with the out of sync guitar... Its most likely because of my "setup", but i just though i would see if anyone knows any magic tricks to make it stop... save me the hassle of re-syncing everything all the time.

I litterally just plug my guitar/mic into a preamp then take an out lead from the pre-amp directly into my sound card. My sound card is a creative sound blaster. I realise thats not exactly a proffessional kit-out, but thought it would be worth a bash asking, incase theres a big "make it work" button somewhere that ive just missed...

    Ta!

  3. Is albacore a hard tuna? I see what you're saying about the "core" thing. I don't mind it being used as it kinda helps to describe more than pin point, as there are so many bands now that you can't pin point anymore. Personally I think metalcore has died off, not that I have a problem with metalcore, as I have loved the stuff for years, but how many Killswitchs can there be, even their sound is old now and they practically pioneered it, but they are still good at what they do in my opinion! I'd say the new metalcore is the style of hardcore like The Acacia Strain, Whitechapel, stuff like that. Only my opinion. I just love heavy music....and yes, I like Bleeding Through, just wish they still sound like what they did on Portrait of a Goddess!

    Agreed! =P

  4. Yeah that seemed like a good idea at the time... but looking over it, it doesnt really explain much, so ill write a wee bit here explaining. We are a bunch of students at RGU/AU and we need a bassist and a lead guitarist. Not really sure of an actual genre to put it under, but something fast, heavy, technical and melodic with a bit of synthy bleepery chucked in there. All in the name of good fun really. Quality kit and transport arn't all that important, but are obviously a plus. We are all round abouts 18 and are really just looking to meet some new pals and have a good laugh.

    Ta!

  5. Hey there. Looking for a Bassist and lead guitarist for fun times, possible relationship. I am currently 4 members tall (Singer, Rythym guitar, drums, Synth player) and 18 years old with synth coloured eyes and beat-down/shred coloured hair. A tad on the crazy side, but I'm sure if your the right bassist/guitarist for me, we will get on like a house on fire. I love solos on the beach and candlit riffs and. Let me know if your interested?

  6. In my opinion, adding "core" to the end of something just means the named genre, but a bit harder, faster and more extreme. Metal is known for its riffs, solos and grunty vocals, metalcore for its fast riffs, fast solos and gruntyer (growly) vocals. Punk is known for power chords and crazy frontmen shouting lots, harcore punk for its faster power chords and crazier frontmen shouting even more =P

Please no one take offence to this post... you get what im trying to say... but yeah, i dont disagree with the word "core" being added to genre names. Until be start getting jazzcore and baroquecore... then you have to wonder...

  7. Yo! umm... I'm 17 (18 next month if that makes a difference...), male and have a fair bit of gigging and band experience. Not really sure what I'm looking for, probably in the range of alexisonfire to parkway drive-ish? but id be willing to sway on that if the music takes my fancy. Let me know if you want any more details or anything.

  8. Really enjoy things like Preacher, Watchmen, V for Vendetta, 30 days of night, Kick Ass etc. but am litterally running out of money... Im a student and I'm poor. Can't afford to buy any more so hand me downs for cheap or free would be lovely to quench my thirst, ta!

P.S while I'm at it, I've recently finished the second book of 30 days of night and cant afford the next 1. If anyones read it, can they PLEASE tell me what happens to Stella after the end of the second book... It's doing my nut in...

    Cheers!

  9. Not to mention Flash taking ages to load where some Javascript can be just as impressive/functional and lightweight.

Flash uses javascript anyway. (well... actionscript, but pretty much the same thing) The only reason it feels like its taking ages to load is because it shows a loading bar whereas normal websites just load picture by picture. It doesnt really take much longer at all. especially if its well coded. But then im a bit of a flash fanboy, so i guess im biased.

  10. There is nothing wrong with using a little bit of Flash here and there, but making your web site's whole layout based on Flash is very bad idea IMHO. Flash might be popular but you shouldn't assume people have the Flash plug-in installed nor should you force them to install it in order to access your web site. Some people can't use Flash in their environment (some workplaces restrict what you can install for example) and some devices don't support Flash at all (the iPhone being a good example).

You make a fair point there. You can always make alternate sites with an autolink. Like, if the device doesnt have flash plug-in installed, it autolinks to and html version of the site without all the bells and whistles?

  11. Not crazy at all. Plenty of people make money from that either by selling their design services in exactly that way or by developing software that aids the MySpace page design process (I'm sure you've all seen the "MySpace page designed by such and such software" stamped over various pages).

Yeah i was being sarcastic. Just seemed like common sense with a million and a half people telling you that everyone looks at myspace pages now.
