Great to see another venue wanting live music. Ive had a crap year trying to get gigs through no fault of my own or any of my bands. We're punctual bring our own gear go on when told, be there for soundcheck when told and share our gear if the other bands want too. The venue we've played in for years and usually brought a good crowd along would'nt entertain us with a gig and at points spoke to me in a way i could've quite happily commited murder. So i'd happily play for beer and the chance of a gig. Got to say Son Henry's quote is a keeper fucking brilliant " A gig is worth 10 rehearsals" im nicking that one! Also so refreshing to hear a young musicians fresh attitutude in just wanting to play for the experience. Im all in favour of new venue's in The Deen and would like to support them and if it means low or no payment to start with so be it. I'd rather deal with decent people who treat you properly than big venues who treat you like shit!

Captain Toms! We're in the midst of doing an album and Paul Emmerson has added some of his fairy dust and its sounding really good. We've done three albums at Toms and this one is sounding streets better than the other two. They've been using Logic at Toms for a while now. Paul just keeps getting better and better, and he really cares about what goes out!

Thanks for the plug Bri but the Fender has been sold. Id go for the Peavey, i owned the Classic 50 for years and it was great. Im sure like all stock valve amps it would benefit hugely from a good valve upgrade and speaker upgrade. Also in my limited experience a good valve amp always betters a solid state. ( can of worms surely opened!) Probably mods out there as well to make it even better. If i was looking for an amp and had the cash your looking to spend idol wild then id negotiate for the one on this forum.

Knight & Day - Shite Salt - Ok

I swear by Harma Diamond Cryos. Ive had them in Marshalls, Ashdowns and recently revalved my Engl Powerball. I got them from Watford and it was really pricey 189 for 4 6L6s and 4 12AX7s and one of the 12AX7s was D.O.A. They replaced it and gave me a spare free though. Will try HotRox next time me thinks

Regrettably selling my Peerless Gigmaster SC, For those who dont know its a Gretschesque hollowbody guitar with a Bigsby and P90s pickups. The guitar is immaculate metallic gold finish and comes with a fitted Peerless case. I had a custom made scratchplate made in cream but i still have the original clear perspex one, both will included in the sale. It has been recently set up, plays and sounds amazing. truth be told im fucking gutted to be selling it! Im told Peerless made guitars for Gibson and Gretsch in the past but i cant support this so before anyone with better knowledge starts posting shitty threads dont fucking bother but friendly facts is more than welcome. All i can say is ive played Gretsch's and owned quite a few Gibsons and i think the build quality is superb for a mid range guitar. Bruce Millers have these in stock and their new price is 579. Im selling for 350

Yeh Stevie Moxam, i personally thought he was a great bloke. He gave the best deals, i dont think R&B has been the same since he went. He did'nt die he moved to Edinburgh but very nearly died not long after he went there in a car crash!

Eh wrong! As the thread was posted by an artist who's been fucked off big time by another Aberdeen promoter not by The Tilted Wig looking for commercial success. I posted it due to the fact i was impressed by Stephen's attitude and ambition for the Aberdeen music scene after meeting him for the first time yesterday and my bands and i are artists who were looking for another venue in Aberdeen to play!

I only met the guy for the first time yesterday and after a year of getting treated like shite from another promoter who's turned into a total fucking wank it was good to meet someone who came across keen on the local music scene. I cant comment on why theyre doing the revamp etc the way they are and in an ideal world where a new venue has unlimited funds and shed loads of experience/contacts what you quoted is right. I only posted this as i know other bands have had problems with a certain Aberdeen venue and thought maybe other bands might like to try playing there as the guy showed the "genuine interest" I spoke of!

Its L shaped but where the stage is going to be there will a good space in front of the stage for a crowd to watch. would'nt like to guesstimate a capacity but i'd say 200 maybe. More after the revamp. After talking to Stephen he wants both cover bands and original, just seems totally up for it being a music bar. Which is really admirable. I think its going to be a great place to play. He was saying gear can be left over night etc, and you can almost right on the door step by car/van to unload gear. Theres also going to be some backline.

Hi all, I went to see Stephen at The Tilted Wig yesterday and ive got to say things look very promising for The Tilted Wig becoming a good band venue. It would be great for all the local bands to support the place as Stephen came across as being genuinely interested in the local music scene and wanting the music side of things to prosper. Thats a fuck load more than i can say for "OTHER" venues in Aberdeen that used to put original bands on now wont give you the time of day and are just interested in money and touring bands. Obviously every buisness has to make money to survive and develop but its good to see a bar owner interested in music nights! Theres a new stage going in and a PA and the whole place is getting a revamp in January to make it more accomodating for bands and theyre support. Im sure with time and experience this is going to turn into a great venue.

Ive bought stuff from the states before and i always ask them before i buy, if they'll mark it as warranty/repair so i dodge the nasty tax man! Thats a great site, im away to build another tele after i put the old Baldwin together and i'll get all the parts from there cheap. Thanks again

Im selling a pair of Mackie SRM 450 V2s for my brother. They come with good stands and speakers leads. These are powered speakers that have only been used a handful of times for DJing. 400w with 12" speakers. A search online will give more spec. I did a price check and for a package deal the same it costs 979 so im open to sensible offers. They're still in immaculate condition.
