  1. Apparently, If Baron-Cohens male-brain/female-brain theory is correct then it's likely folk with smaller scores could potentially have williams syndrome...

Williams syndrome (WS; also Williams-Beuren syndrome or WBS) is a rare neurodevelopmental disorder caused by a deletion of about 26 genes from the long arm of chromosome 7.[1] It is characterized by a distinctive, "elfin" facial appearance, along with a low nasal bridge; an unusually cheerful demeanor and ease with strangers; mental retardation coupled with unusual (for persons who are diagnosed as mentally retarded) language skills; a love for music; and cardiovascular problems, such as supravalvular aortic stenosis and transient hypercalcaemia.

He was good in Borat, but as a Psychologist I'm not sure.

  2. My point is - he referenced Dons fans in Madrid as some kind of comparison between Rangers fans in Manchester. You will not find Aberdeen fans visiting another city and treating the police or locals the way Rangers fans did in Manchester [EDIT= nowadays], hence there is no comparison to be made.

I'm pretty much just repeating myself here. It's easy to decide what you like from seeing things in the media. The reason I brought up the Madrid thing was an example of how easily someone decide that it was a certain group who started everything and were the problem hearing/seeing it, in that case Aberdeen fans.

The main reason why things in Manchester were/looked so bad is because of the vast amount of people there. Compare the few thousand (maybe? Unless you've got a Celtic Seville calculator) fans who usually travel to Euro games, multiply that by ten - then obviously if trouble starts there's a fair chance that the people involved will be tenfold.

  3. After the Italy game was the only time I have cried at something as an adult, it was heart breaking. There was a great deal of the fans walking back to the train station in the exact same way. I think it was because of the air of expectation and that "we can actually do this" feeling that was going throughout the country.

The last hurdle is the Scotland way, "the old college drop-out try".

  4. I post on the Manchester Music forums, and alot of folks on there spent most of the day of the final drinking with the Rangers fans on Piccadilly Gardens and then watching the game. Nobody seemed to have a bad word to say about them, and the general consensus was that the Police using force is what initiated the trouble. Obviously it goes both ways. It's not as black and white as suggesting it was purely 100% fans or police, and it was obviously going to be a combination of lousy policing, and a bit of hooliganism, which any club with a following of a couple of hundred thousand is bound to have if an unfortunate situation like that is to happen.

I still don't like Rangers though, but to blame every fan for what happened in Manchester is a bit irrational. If it had have happaned to any other clubs' travelling supporters, the same thing would have happened.

See this is what I was looking for, a bit

I am always embarrassed when I hear anything about a Rangers "fan" doing something shite, as what constantly happens, this thread being a great example, is everyone of us is branded a "knuckle dragging hun who's the shame of Scotland" by people who seem to know the details of every incident like they were there.

  5. Am I right in saying that if we win tonight, Norway are out of the running to qualify?

I know exactly what's going to happen, same thing that ALWAYS happens with Scotland. We'll go into the last game needing to beat the big team to qualify and we'll lose.

I thought either this, or we'll win all our remaining games and luck would have it that we're the lowest point scoring runners up.

  6. why don't you fuck off to www.rangers-music.com & make your excuses there?

And were you there? Doesn't sound like it.

Didn't realise I was living in Rangers.

Rangers fans "got a bit restless"?

    By which you mean:

Rangers fans started pelting the guy who was trying to fix it with beer bottles.

That came from my mate, who's a Rangers fan and who was in the crowd when it happened.

    Aye, that was uncalled for.

This has went somewhat off the whole reason I posted in the first place.

Guy's a cunt for tarring everyone with the same brush.

  7. I was there too and saw it like this:

    - 6,000 Aberdeen fans descend on a major European city

    - 5,000 of them have never visited such a place and have no idea how to behave ("Aye, Pedro, div ye nae spik English?")

    - Drinking, singing, splashing in fountains, general harmless if a bit obnoxious fun ensues. (it's ok, we're Scottish!)

    - Atletico Madrid Ultras see thousands of Aberdeen fans taking over the city centre and think "fuck this, let's show them"

    - flares, fights, indescriminate police batons........

The Madrid free paper the next day blamed Aberdeen fans for starting the trouble. From what I could see the trouble was started outside the ground by the Altletithugs but I have to say that I was embarrassed by the general loutishness, although it wasn't violent, of a lot of our support.

See, the footage I remember of it was just Aberdeen fans having a right good time fucking things up, so that's how it looked to me.

I was in Manchester and would tell you a similar story to what you said just there, obviously which a change of teams etc.

Amazing what the media can do.

  8. Eh, no, the screens went off so you knuckle draggers decided to trash the fucking place.

What was said was that the screens went off, Rangers fans got a bit restless, security/police were said to have used the wrong tactics (force as it were) and things kicked off from there.

I'm not saying that did, or didn't happen, but it's very easy to make your mind up when you are simply someone looking in from the outside.

  9. You mean when regular Aberdeen fans got attacked by Atletico's ultras then battered by the police? Aye, that was a right laugh. The work of the casuals no doubt!

    You fucking balloon.

That's exactly what was said about the problems in Manchester starting.

Funny what happens when it's your side that's in question.
