  1. Who? o_O Well, I think I should stick to it then, I'll see how it goes. Thanks for telling me about D.F.A.1979 though.
  2. Mark wasn't an outstanding bass player as such, I just loved his bass tone and his taste in Bass Guitars, THUNDERBIRD!
  3. The Local Band scene in Aberdeen is massive but not too many major bands play here. Shame that but I might see DeathStars on the 7th of November.
  4. I have got a drummer now. I might be wanting a guitarist who loves crazy effects pedal solos for gigging but I don't know yet.
  5. Thanks for that. I'll see how things go.
  6. Death from about 1979 have at least 3 members, they have a singer. Oh wait the drummer sings. Cool sound I must admit. I am going for Bass/Vocals so it is kind of different and a different genre.
  7. Well, I had never seen it nor heard it been done decently. I might keep the idea or ditch it and make a real band. So anyone interested in making a grunge/indie band?
  8. I believe I have not. The name rings a bell. What about them?
  9. 20 views, No replies. This seems to be a bad idea to people? Well, I am interested in becoming a member of on existing band, bettering my own or jamming with people. I play; Guitar, Bass, Sing, Drums. I am also good at song writing and managing bands. I want to have some sort of involvance with a band, prefereably my own. If you're interested in making what I call "real music" which sounds a bit like ASH then reply here or speak to me on MSN vice--versa@hotmail.co.uk
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YonusT17NWY Girl From Mars (Video) Envy (Video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddsqor_DNAo&mode=related&search= New favorite song just now, it's so catchy and poppy!
  11. Orange is always the best way to go, although I personally prefer line 6 everything. Go for it if you think it's a big enough amp.
  12. Extremly Funny, but the stuff I am thinking of is Bronchial Balsam, kurt cobain drank it to repair his throat.
  13. Because of the under-rating my favorite band ASH have, I will post some intense live performances of theirs and some music videos. Meltdown (Live) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Zt-IilA1PI Gotta love the sliding bass in the intro. Meltdown is a song about the war in Iraq appparently... Orpheus (Live) My favorite song of all time, Played in Hurricane festival 2004 Teenage Kicks (Live) A tribute to John Pell, I think it was his favorite song. It's up there on my list too. Being played by ASH made it better. Burn Baby Burn (Video) The song that got me to like ASH, I want to learn how to do that noise in the intro Goldfinger (Live) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q90JoJOkNwM Who doesn't remember this song from back in the day? Girl From Mars (Alternative Video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MZwmy0OnPo&mode=related&search= This song is on Kerrang! every once in a while, here's the U.S video. Lose Control (Final Fantasy Video?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bx194SEd4wo You have to give this awesome song a listen.
  14. I should check out more bands there. I hear Hope Horizon are good. I listen to them and I speak to the guitarist so I should see them. I missed them last week because I was in hospital.
  15. My top 3 are; Billy Sheehan; I was going to post his name and picture but someone already had, he is a really fast bassist and you have to love that, I love the solo in "I'm the hell out of here" which features in "G3 Live in Denver", the Vai set is really good. Not to mention his album stuff is amazing. Bruce Foxton; The man who inspired me to drop my guitar and play the bass. I thought bass backed up guitar but in The Jam, the guitar backed up the bass. The song "Start!" should be an influence on Bassists everywhere. Mark Hamilton; Heavily distorted bass is cool, and the best of it comes from ASH's bassist Mark Hamilton, he is a decent player too and is my main musical influence. But to be honest, unless you mentioned this name, you are wrong. The bast bass guitarist of all time ever was Jaco Pastorius, end of. He was killed after a savage beating though...
  16. There is this stuff, which I have now forgotten the name of, but it is a kind of throat medicine that is absolutly rank. You should drink that at the end of every song or something.
  17. Yes, I more than likely am, I can never find any other bands going around, I am into Indie rock at the moment and I don't see any of that going around, just death metal and drummonds lol! I did see this punk band once and the bassist had a humongous cello, it was amazing how he could play so fast on that encumbering brick. But otherwise it's all metal.
  18. Pete Doherty is nowhere near as bad as people make him out to be. The Doherty/Barat team that made the Libertines was amazing, Dave has commented saying Up The Bracket was half decent although personally I think it is great except for the scream at the start of the title track. Some certain songs are great such as "Time for Heroes", "Vertigo" and my favorite "The Boys in the Band". Girls aloud may be nice to look at, but they are awful to listen to.
  19. I am not good with the local names but the drummer in my old band, George McPherson, more known for being in R.F.I is an intense drummer, and he's only 15!!!
  20. Oh but there IS a music scene in Aberdeen, it's called called Death Metal. I hate it myself but I can't deny the fact that it's there and everywhere, it's pretty annoying when you walk past drummonds and hear a crazy death metal "growl" but I can't deny it, there is an Aberdeen music scene. Not to mention the amount of unfairly talented musicians going round. There is nothing new in the scene, maybe that's the guy's problem, but there's so much been done in the past that it's virtually impossible to do something new anyway.
  21. I am thinking of forming a new band upon the parting of me from my previous band, the youth whom I think may be changing names. I am playing bass in this band and I am looking for a drummer first to see if an idea I had will work. My style of bass playing is heavy distorted and uses chords that sound like a guitar is playing, I think that would make a cool band as a 2 set. And if that idea fails I'm up for forming a 4 piece or something.
  22. I could perhaps fill your drummer position, I can play well enough and I'm a huge Thin Lizzy fan.
  23. Good Days, I am no longer a member of this band but I certainly wish them good luck in the future. Just for the record people, this is an actually good sounding band (for once). Perhaps, with the bands permission I may get to return but the way things are looking, I'm not sadly. Like I said, Good luck guys! I'll have to see you live some day.
  24. I'm actually younger and I might have a jam with you guys and see how it goes?
