  1. The wee "Food For Thought" shop in New Deer stocks Brewdog. It seemed to have two kinds, one was a darker ale, and the Punk IPA. Quite liked the darker one more than I normally like dark ales if you ken fit ah mean?

I just got a bit confused - I was thinking you are from the Broch, being in the band with the other Brocher, and getting your beer direct from the Broch brewery, but you're not actually from the Broch are you? Do you know the guys in charge, or do you order from their website or something?

Sadly not a Brocher. The dark one was probably Riptide which is a nice stout. I order from the website, which is pretty decent value if you like the more exotic ones and are putting in a reasonable sized order (it's a flate rate 6 as far as I recall).

  2. I've only tried 2 but can't remember which ones - Punk IPA is my favourite though.

I had a bottle in a gift shop come wine store come cafe in the middle of nowhere in Perthshire last week. Was well impressed they were on sale there!

You'd love the Hardcore IPA in that case. I've only been able to get it direct from Brewdog though.

  3. More importantly, how many crates of Brewdog do you have stockpiled in your garage, you fucking lush?

Wan mixed-box left which I'm trying to maintain for my brar visiting. Hardcore IPA is their best product in my opinion. It's triffic.

  4. I saw in the paper or on the news a week or two ago that Brewdog were having some land dispute with Aberdeenshire Council. Can't remember what it was about.

It seems to me that a lot of people are trying to stand in their way, but good on them for doing so well thus far, and hopefully they can keep it going.

Think I'm right in saying it's two young lads who graduated with business degrees from RGU and just had the balls to go for it, and it seems to have paid off.

These morons that keep up the argument that they are encouraging binge drinking are unbelievably stupid. When I was too young to drink, and even as a young adult/student, there's no way on earth I'd have opted for Brewdog (had it existed). We always went for cheap deals on bottles/tins of beer, and spirits. There is now an unbelievable range of alcopops aimed directly at teenagers, and even without this or without Brewdog (who shouldn't even be in this argument), kids will continue to get pissed, and adults will continue to binge drink until our society changes (or they take ALL alcohol off the shelves - which won't happen, and shouldn't need to).

There is such a terrible culture in Scotland (and the UK) at the moment, and it's been getting gradually worse. People eat too much (and eat all the wrong foods), and get fat and unhealthy, people drink far too much alcohol, and get fat, unhealthy, liver disease etc, and smoke far too much cigarettes, and get unhealthy, heart disease, cancer etc.

People need to be educated better. I had a discussion with my mother in law the other week who is a retired home economics teacher, and she was talking about in "her day" when they got a decent amount of time to teach kids about healthy eating and cooking etc. It's been reduced to about an hour a week (if that), same for P.E.

The Government needs to wise up and realise that Maths and English are not the be all and end all of education. Kids need to be fit and healthy and taught about being fit and healthy - it's far more important in the grand scale of things. It's all well and good having people who know how to long divide, and write good stories, but if they're shacked up in hospital having suffered from a bastard stroke, unable to speak or use their right leg, it won't do them much fucking use.

    What about National Service?

  5. My girlfriend got hers repaired for free but I think they were still under warranty. Then they broke again and she replaced them with "She" straighteners, which are just as good as GHD but half the price. A lot of the salons use the "She" straighteners now. I'm sure the story is that the company was started by someone who used to work at GHD and branched out on their own, using GHD's technology.

she hair stylers | buy hair stylers

My girlfriend (who is an ex-hairdresser, which is how I know so much about all this jazz) has the white ones and swears by them. Plus she got them at trade price through her old salon so they were only about 50 or something.

    /gayness

I always knew that you were a perfumed ninny.

  6. As the boy says. I am happier with the production on the first one, (the guitars sound ACE) and while I'm awful proud of the first EP all 3 songs on it, are played in 4/4 and in D. The new one has 4 songs in different keys and a variety of tempos, one song in 3/4 and an instrumental etc.

And also on tracks 1, 2 and 3.

A quick one off the wrist on track 3, granted, but I'm having a wee lie down on the other two.

  7. The first EP (imo) is better than this one, so you should give that a whirl too!

Whilst I like the first one, the new EP has more diverse songs in terms of keys, tempos, etc. The CD hangs together a bit better too, i.e. with the track order and that. Plus it's got me having a wank on track 4.

  8. I was at the opening night at HMT last night, wasn't really sure what to expect cos I've never been to a student show before, and I just went because Steve from Cobra Kai is in it. It turns out I actually really enjoyed it, I thought it was very well put together and really funny in places. Anyone else been / going?

I went. I was sitting next to you and there was a funny shitey smell. It was pretty good and Steve was awesome with his camp German accent and spectacular dancing. It's still on the morra, I would recommend a keek.

  9. Thrashist Regime are quite entertaining and pretty good players, Pryon are a wee bit better. The ones in 2nd are a bit like The Beta Band but don't thrill and Wifebeater have really good titles but aren't quite there. Tupelo have a good name but are a wee bit pedestrian. Is that a fair appraisal? I'm a bit simple and more than a little autistic, so I really don't know.

  10. Well, there's your problem ;)

(a little bass player rival idealogical joke there - no offence meant!)

I would offer to help but my experience with dual truss rods is minimal.

Saucy! You should gie them a blast, two and a half octaves without moving your hand is a lazy bastard's dream. I got one for a laugh a couple of years back and was quickly convinced. Plus they're ideal for a wankathon.

  11. We Need to Talk About Kevin (Five Star Paperback): Lionel Shriver: Amazon.co.uk: Books

I just finished this book - very good - would highly recommend!

I'm now onto Liquid Kids by Lucky Rathen's mate - just started, so can't say if it's really any good yet :)

Just finished Liquid Kids. Very good indeed, highly recommended. Read Irvine Welsh's If You Liked School... short stories before that; mostly average, except for the Kingdom of Fife one. It was great.
