Ancient 13MB version of Cakewalk (Pro Audio 9) running with a Soundblaster X-Fi on my fragile PC. Got some version of Sonar, but too scared to use it. I have an SM57 and a TC Helicon Create for vocals and Zoom B2/G2 pedals for bass and guitar. I programme drums and MIDI instruments (strings, brass, etc) using the piano roll (dragging blocks about a piano sceen). Got a DVD full of soundfonts of of ebay for a tenner to make it sound a wee bit more realistic. Budget recording for demos and such. Recorded the Belloc's Bar album with this set up (on MySpace and Facebook and such).

Got one on Saturday, it's a lovely compilation for winter motoring. I likes The Matricarians, Dusty Valentino, Les Pelicans and Kopi Luwak especially.
-
I did MP3 because I don't know any better.
I hear next year's Kilau album is going to be available on 8-track.
I can send a wav if required. Rapidshare or something, it'll be forty-odd meg.

I'll get my wang tattooed to look like a stick of rock.
I was going to suggest getting "Blackpool" tattoed around your meatus u., but someone beat me to it. So to speak.
-
Styx at Draconian. My latest one was a spur of the moment little wee holiday souvenir tattoo while on the beach in Bulgaria. There's a tattooist on every corner of the resort I was at, no shit there must be about 40 tattoo shops in a place the size of Fraserburgh. So chances of them all being good tattooist are remote. As I found out when I came home with this on my back.
You should get that one expanded into a fruit machine/bandit theme. You know, a bit like folk who get cards or dice, but something that says Blackpool.

Some of the Belloc's Bar album was recorded using a fat shield/spatter guard thing for frying. Worked a treat if you could keep a straight face long enough to sing a line.Stretch a pair of your tights over a coathanger. -
I think the walls are done with wid reclaimed from a school gym hall. Hardcore IPA on draught, though. Choice.

please for the love of my ingorance quote my contractions
as i said i was exploring all possiblities form both sides, i'm not for or against anyone with this matter
you are taking my view on this matter as a personal attack, grow up. and did i said your at home typing up all day like the little scenario you typed?, pfft Nope all i said was "stop wasting your time", you decided to take that as an attack upon you, as you managed to create this whole comical vision of you being some whiner on the internet typing his heart out. you are creating the monster that you are portraying not me!
i couldn't really care less if you get your amp fixed just as much as I couldn't really care less if R&B got sued
as for the jumper, thing, it was totally unintentional to put "wooly" in there
maybe your over active minde read far to much into what im trying to say.
That's by the by, how about the lass that works in the Foyer?

Ah Dennis Nilsen, Fraserburgh's favourite son.....
I used to work with his brother. Nice guy, dodgy tash and syrup combo though.
There's a book called "KIlling For Company" which is all about him and goes into great depth about every murder. It's a very interesting read.
Here you go, Amazon marketplace for 1p.
Amazon.co.uk: Used and New: Killing For Company: Case of Dennis Nilsen
He was Britains worst serial killer until Shipman came in and stole the crown, fact fans.
Cobra Kai have a song about him that's never been heard outside the rehearsal room because it isn't very good. It's called "The History Of A Drowning Boy", which was the name of the memoirs that he wrote while in prison, he tried to have them published but the courts wouldn't allow it.
I know a little bit too much about Dennis Nilsen. I've had a weird life-long fascination with serial killers, I like to read books about them, Shipman, Fred West, Ed Gein etc. Plus he's from my town, whcih makes it more interesting, in a morbid way.
It's a good song, we should stick it on the album as "odds and sods that didn't make it". Magic guitar solo, likes. I reckon some local punk outfit should do a cover of the Sex Pistols Belsen one and reimagine it as Nilsen Was a Brocher. Choice.

Certainly Sir, if I could just ask you to wait there for a second, I'll get my colleague to assist you...
Mr Alkaline, Are you free?...
This is very pleasing.

When I was a bairn, I played with a magic drummer. He now plays for a choice outfit called Stuntman Mike. They are in some competition or other. You can listen to their track and vote on this thing, down the bottom on the right (took me fucking ages to find it). Ta.

I can rarely be arsed.

I would agree with Sophie Ellis Bextor, but then I saw her on Never mind the Buzzcocks. And she's alright. Now I just want to shag her.
Missed it. Maybe she's blossomed. I'd bend it into her maw though, her what was on Jigsaw.

Sophie Ellis Bextor, the simpering wee shitehawk.

I'm watching Miami Vice now. It sucks. I'm about to switch it off.
I'm certain that there are more productive things you could be doing.

The Very Best Of The Monkees. Tell you what, they had a lot of really good songs....
On in my kitchen the noo, track 10 on. Brawissimo.

After a months' break, Aberzine is back. Now which band were unfortunate enough to be described as:
Also coming soon, if you guys ever get the fucking CDs to me:
KCHGH EP
Belloc's Bar album
Carson Wells EP
Zambian Astronaut EP
New York Dolls Live @ Lemon Tree
And where are all these gig reviews that I asked for, you fucks?
Gied you it. Did your wee dug eat it?

I was a hyooooooooooooooge fan in my teens, I absolutely worshipped the fuckers - The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, Mother's Milk, Blood Sugar Sex Magic and One Hot Minute are all superb albums IMO. Then they took four years off, got back on smack, sacked Dave Navarro, got off smack again, and came back shit.
EDIT - Actually Californication isn't that bad, though the production is horrible, it's all spikey and distorted. What is it they call it, "clipping" or something? They fucked it up anyway, it's so distorted it's almost unlistenable. By The Way and Stadium Arcadium can get tae.
EDIT EDIT - I miss when the Chilis were doing ace funk rock with lyrics all about drugs and fucking, instead of just bland pop songs.
I saw them on the Mother's Milk tour at the QuiM in Glasgow. There were awful damn good that night.

Could you review the Belloc's Bar CD an' all? Should be finished presently.
-
Hot damn, that looked pretty fucking awful goddam sweet. Will you post here?

This thread just keeps getting better. Soon we'll have every sushi chef in Aberdeen registered on here
Just to throw a cat among the pigeons, I hear that Wagamama will be opening in Union Square by Christmas.

It's like a Japanese food turf-war in here.
I really liked Chef Jang at the market but I haven't tried the new place yet. I really like Yo as well, but it gets fucking expensive.
I'll take you on a date as long as I get a hummer.

That was nice. Thought The Hijacks were immense.
-
PM'd you about the bass.
-
All the things about factories and online music shops and whatnot. Nice bass btw, looks well worth two hunner and odd shuffs to me.
What's your recording setup and method?
