hmmm, this is an easy game. why is that it's nigh on impossible to come up with a good band name?

  2. Reading on my pals facebook earlier that Chris Maguire was getting in his face and giving it the "don't you know who I am?" chat in Snafu last night. He pushed this guy too far and was promptly decked and brought back down to earth with a bump or two

  3. i think it's the vietnam built as opposed to korea or usa: not that it has much difference as the board/components are slm and the tubes are sovteks. dennis marshall reckons that the build quality and component quality is excellent; thats good enough for me :D

i'll hold off on bass chat jei; I know I can get a quick sale there but if I can pass a quality amp onto someone locally it reduces my stress levels and does someone a favour at this price (as Woody has mentioned).

Woody, if yer serious about it drop me a line.

Mint condition Ampeg SVT CL head for sale

Bought this head about 3 years ago although it has barely been used in the past 18 months due to me playing more guitar and playing less music in general.

Pretty much one of the best off-the-shelve heads that money can buy, the SVT Classic is used worldwide by all sorts of musicians.

The amp is very simple, one small panel of dials making it is very easy to dial into great tone regardless of whether you are recording, playing in a small room or playing in a big venue (one of the reasons why I switched from a Mesa 400+).

Whilst this amp can provide a crystal clear, precise clean tone with appropriate low and high end eqalisation; it's real value is in the classic Ampeg growl! The sound is perfectly balanced regardless of fretting and the mid selections offer great flexibility depending on the type of room / instrument you are playing. I used a Fender Jazz for the majority of the time with this amp and the two are a match made in heaven. Terrific sustain, great mid and the ability to change the tone instantly if required mid song.

The Valves inside are Sovteks and they should have a good few years of life in them yet (depending on how much you play). This amp also has the self biasing setting which means that you can replace the valves yourself without any problems. As for build quality, the thing is indestructable, it's pretty heavy but the handles on either side allow great leverage to carry for distance. Some folk buy flight cases for these heads but I never needed to as it was always packed well in the van and I never went flying with them (thank christ at that weight!)

I am pretty gutted to be selling the amp, given that I thought I'd have this for the rest of my days. I am buying a new house and need some extra capital meaning I have had to part with some prized posessions (I'm trying dearly to hold onto my usa jazz bass!)

925 is a very good price and I am not really open to negotiation on it. You don't see a lot of these going second hand because people don't really part with them.

Happy to answer any discussions or discuss. If you know anyone looking for an amp or have been moaning at your bass player to get a decent amp, then get em in touch with me: it seriously doesn't get much better than the CL.

if it doesnt sell in the next few weeks I'll be ebaying it, probably above this price.

what a day. what a feeling. I have genuinely forgotten what it feels like when you win a game and to watch a team full of confidence who believe that they can go out and win a game against superior opposition was a joy.

After what has been a fucking horrendous 2 years of utter drivel, stress, heartache and foul moods; to watch us go out and gub our biggest rivals was priceless. Absolutely fucking brilliant.

Tweed got it absolutely spot on tactically today (for the first time in a long time), YAAAAS MIN.

  6. ive done bits of coaching over the last 3 years or so, considering doing the badges at some point but I don't know if I could be arsed managing a pub league team, which is generally where most with no footballing pedigree or affiliations to the youth sides start off....

you always have 3 or 4 committed guys who will run through walls for you but the rest (generally the better players) lack any kind of discipline, respect and intelligence on a football field. You find yourself struggling to field teams in winter and half of them are hungover as sin and couldn't tackle a fish supper. As for tactics, ha ha ha ha.....

When it works and you see guys learning lessons, adopting new attitude and improving on and off the ball; it's a good feeling.

  7. asva: absolutely devastating live. On record it's a load of twaddle recorded in a dry cave

this town needs guns. I do like the album but it's flat as a pancake and lacks dynamic, whereas live, they are all sorts of teckle

in decades decline. crushing live, isn't captured on record.

probably thousands more but those are three that really stick out....

  8. Red Hot Chili Peppers, the one time I've seen them were absolute bobbins (Californication tour, 1998 or 99). Anthony Keidis' was miles off key in every song, and that Frusciante cunt just noodled his way through the songs and made stupid feedback noises where all the solos were supposed to go. I was so looking forward to seeing them and they were a real disappoinment. Remarkably little stage presence as well.

that bugger needs to stop mumbling words. on their later stuff he rarely stoppped humming and singing.

being honest, barring the odd decent song; I bloody hate this band. I'd happily stone them to death....
