  1. Offside rule explanation for Girls:

You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire.

Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes.

The shop assistant remains at the till waiting. Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you.

If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes. At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and, *whilst it is in flight* you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes.

Always remembering that until the purse had *actually been thrown* it would be plain wrong to be forward of the other shopper.

Hope that clears it up ladies..

  2. Hmmm I have smelt eau du burberry on Preston while watching Big Bore-ther.

But to be perfectly honest' date=' who gives a fuck? If you like them that much but are embarrassed then keep your tastes to yourself.

Talk Talk Talk is the ultimate wake-up song. And if The Ordinary Boys can produce a song which drags me out of bed in the morning they can't be that bad![/quote']

There are plenty bands that are capable of dragging me out of bed in the morning. But I just get up, turn off the alarm and go back to bed.

  3. Fair enough - But calling someone a "reject" is criticism in my book!

I totally agree we need a left sided attacking midfielder and Smith would be far more effective on the right.

However' date=' there is the issue of having depth in the squad and the signing of McFarlene basically answers all our prayers and means Jimmy won't be forced into playing muppets like Dempsey or Foster in need of cover. Also, if we revert to a three at the back system of Anderson, Byrne and McNaughton and let Griffin sit in just in front, that would then allow Severin and Nicholson to sit in the middle and let Clark go on the right of midfield and Smith on the left with Mackie and Crwaford up front. A 3 - 1 -4 - 2 formation - playing to our strengths. get Clarkie up the park and run at folk. Let Smith come inside and turn defenders inside out. Keep it on the deck and allow Seve and Barry to provide through balls to the strikers. Let Mackie run at folk and Crawford hold up the ball.

Can't solve problems overnight, but we need to play to our strengths. We are not sitting well in the league and need to maximise our team's strengths to ensure a top 6 place.[/quote']

It's not critisism. It's a fact. Hearts told him he had no future, which makes him a reject.

Calderwood said himself that he wasn't going to sign players just to add to the squad. Fair do's though, he can only be better than Dempsey & Foster. I think Clark is better in the middle, he always gives 100% but I don't think he's good enough to merit a regular place in the team when everyone is fit.

If we went with a back 3 I would prefer to see Anderson, Griffin and for the time being, McNaughton with perhaps McFarlane, if he is as good as the Hearts fans say he is, playing the holding role. Severin an Nicholson playing in front of him but with Severin more withdrawn, allowing Nicholson to support Crawford and Mackie. Byrne looks good going forward so I would try him out on the left of midfield, with Smith on the right.

Looks like we might be getting Hammel from Motherwell too. A replacement for McNaughton perhaps?

  4. I wasn't critisising him at all. Like I said, I don't know of him and have never seen him play. I'm willing to give anyone a chance but like what many other people have been saying on other boards, why sign another defensive midfielder? I said the same when Celtic signed Keane and played him alongside Lennon. Even if Griffin plays centre half is he really going to play Severin and McFarlane in the middle together? Calderwood said he'd only buy players that are better than what we have so I guess we'll just have to trust his judgement.

I feel we would be better off with a left sided attacking midfielder, with Smith on the right and Severin and Nicholson in the middle.

  5. I didn't really have a particular studio in mind to be honest. I'm just trying to find a way that I can record live and do pretty much whatever I want - Whether may it be adding tracks, deleting dodgy tracks and re-doing them or even just messing about with different effects. The kind of things you think about after you've finished a demo and you take it home, listen to it and think "Man that doesn't quite sound right" or "I wish I did this or that".

From which studios in Aberdeen can you get the WAV files? I'd be willing to provide as many dvd-rs as it would take just so I had the option of editing etc.

  6. How is that more info than the link I gave? It looks exactly the same to me.

Why do you think it's a terrible idea?

Regarding the spin off with the 3 guys, where will their other halves be for the duration of this series?

Perhaps they'll become lesbians in one of the 4 1 hour specials.

  7. It isn't actually me who plays the keys and the guy who does feels that compared to the real thing, that midi has a feel of "timelessness" (his words not mine). He has an Oberheim midi controller which he usually uses for the Rhodes sound and I agree wih him that something is not quite right. Personally, I can sit at home all day messing with B4 and the rest but at the end of the day it's down to personal preference.

  8. I see where your coming from and if I had a laptop that I could carry around then I would try B4 as well as Elektrik Piano, M-Tron and all the other midi soft synths that I have. But I don't have a laptop so I was wondering where would have the real deal available for use. I know that the rooms under Atmosphere have a hammond but I haven't had the oppurtunity to ask if it's for hire.

There's no problem when it comes to playing live because we have a Hammond L100 and a Leslie cab but it would be a pain in the ass bringing that along to practise.
