Personally it would depend on the price, i think most people would like a better looking amp! But if it would be cheaper to buy a poor conditioned one (as long as the internals are good) and get it re-covered i would go that way personally. If you are thinking of getting them redone I'd give Jeff at Matamp a call and see if he could do it for you as their products (I'm sure you already know) are top notch and he would do a really good job! are you thinking of selling one to get a Matamp?
-
ive used the plastic twist lock ones and they have done no harm to either my Lp or Tele

ok here is a pic of what it looks like, its not of my actual guitar cause cant work out how to put a pic of it off my computer, duhhhhh also its a Fender Nashville Telecaster Deluxe fender's website says - Down-home and sophisticatedjust like the city it honorsthe Deluxe Nashville Telecaster guitar features a Tex-Mex Strat pickup sandwiched between two Tex-Mex Tele pickups. This arrangement, combined with five-way Strat-o-Tone switching, makes it one of the most versatile Telecasters we offer. Other features include an alder body, Brown Shell pickguard, vintage machine heads, vintage six-saddle bridge and medium jumbo frets. ps Sorry if images are large -
Hey, Im thinking about selling one of my guitar to start saving for a car. So im thinkin about selling the Tele as i use my Lp much more. There are NO dings/scratches on it and it plays very nice... pm my with an offer if your interested. cheers

yea that was the one i liked the sounds of. There was another site i saw that offered kits so you could build your pedals like other brands but with upgraded parts, Thought this would be well insteresting!!! you cant beat a good bit of soldering or welding depending on how adventurous (cant spell) your are o_O Ill have a look for the site.
