Hey all, Just testing the waters here as thinking of selling up. This was bought from the factory in Meltham in Aug 2006. It is a lovely sounding amp with a HUGH variation of sounds available. Matamp 1224 II head Comes with custom footswiching options Voice, Reverb, Mid Boost, Drive, OD LINK This would cost you +1500 new not to mention the busy waiting times right now. The amp has been played regularly at bedroom levels, yes this 50watt matamp rating (>100 watt marshall rating) can be run on only 1 valve giving low volume without sacrificing tone!!! But has also be played around full whack (so so loud, earth moving). Everything is spot on with the 1224 and the speakers have broken in nicely. Im thinking of selling to try and raise money for the deposit for a flat (fecking ridiculous prices!!!!!)and to clear my student overdraft, so genuine reason. I changed a few Capacitor, Resistor and Diodes. Im rubbish as describing stuff but to me it sound alot "fuller" with smoother gain and more tansparency.

They are lovely pedals, i did a few mods to my friends one and it sounded so much nicer!!!

sorry should have said, there is a back plate that is usually on it but took it off to take a pic of the inside. The cable jack is attached to the back tho so i think its spose to say closed. you can see it sitting ontop in the 2nd photo with the wire connected to the speakers.

Now this is rather special! Custom Cabtex cabinets are built to order and loaded as requested from the customer, and the builder is ex-Matamp cabinet builder Peter Bennett. The Cabtex brand is exclusive to Triplegrove cabinet makers. This lovely little 2 x 10" is a dovetailed pine cabinet with black tolex covering and a basket weave grille, this one is loaded with 2 x 60w Celestion G10 Vintage cones, wired for 16 ohms. I have used this with my 50watt Matamp valve head (NOT fully cranked) and the sound is devine, very clean and pure indeed, perfect for studio recording and live blues work. The Vintage G10's are a very popular cone and coupled with a custom built cab like this you have an excellent high end unit which really does reflect the quality of the amp being used through it and there is little in the way of added "colour" to the sound. As you can see the cab is a squat form and not a monster to carry around, it measures 24.5" wide x 12.5" deep and 14.5" tall including rubber feet. When i bought this cab i was told "This one was built for a pro musician who is now off to Spain and this cab never did get used. So you are getting a new custom cabtex cab, very nice indeed!" The cab would cost 375 ex VAT to buy new and it still has the price label and hang tag attached. So this is a genuine and rare chance to add a very nice cab to your set up. The only negative i can say about this cab is that, there is one small tear in the cover which is on the back and is very small. Yea it is closed back, that sucks about the speakers!!! My matamp cab is also closed but has 2 removable back panels so you can have it 1 - Closed 2 - Open 3 - bottem 1/2 closed, top 1/2 open 4 - Top 1/2 closed, bottom 1/2 open

bugger just my luck! Just a word of warning, you need to be carefull with the dimentions of the cab. I was going to build my own also but got tald that it needs to be corectly sized or something. Anyway back to MY CAB hehe. Just a spir of the moment thing, dont really want to sell it as it is SO nice but its not getting used and im a student so money is always tight. It looks looks stunning, it has a real woven wicker front. If anyone is interested then it can be viewed/played! *** forgot to mention it does have ONE tiny nick in the cover, its about the size of the end of a pen and on the back. Hardly noticable and could be hidden easiely with black ink***

Possibly but ive never found it a problem with my matamp it had feet so sat nicely on top. Also makes it easy to carry! It is a very compact portable cab! Dont most Heads come with feet anyway? Thanks for the comment tho

well the price tag is still on it and its 300+...... 375 i think but can check that tonight one im home. but i wouldnt be asking that much for it. Was hoping for around 300 but am open to offers not silly ones like "Ill give you a Tenner for it" tho haha

The GTO is a low gain amp so unless they are getting their distortion from pedals then you may mean they are using the GTL - Once the definitive Stoner amp as Matamp say
