  1. Bumblebeez are great!!! Oz guy and girl combo signed to Modular. Had them booked to play late last year but didnt happen Check out PLAYDOE from South Africa. Managed by the same girl who manages Dan Le Sac Vs Pip. Their EP Its That Beat received great reviews by all the mainstreamers - NME, Vice, Guardian, Mixmag etc etc. A bit more full on electro, glitch, hip hop but great. Real dance floor shiznit. www.myspace.com/fuckplaydoe -
  2. They are brilliant. Really nice chaps too. Put on a great show the other week. Dan is going to be back in March @ somepoint to do some of his laptop/dj stuff so watch this space. A new version of "Thou Shalt" is be released in Jan with non other than DE LA SOUL featuring on it -
  3. Its nothing ground breaking to be honest. In my humble opinion. But I like the fact your not pretending to be something your not like 99.9% of the rest of UK hip hop. Banging on about Guns, Bitches & Bling ("never part of the 4 elements and never will be" - S. Pip). You keep it "real" (how cliched haha). Rhyme in your own accent and reference stuff you know about. Good move. Apart from the odd one or two... most UK Hip Hop is pretty terrible & cringe worthy stuff - this is not. Its great you guys are out doing this. As Aberdeen has a real lack of diversity in its music scene and sufferers from too many run of the mill indie/rock/Oasis wannabes. So good work chaps. -
  4. true haha. At the end of the day they're just lil punks who think its cool to act like lil punks/cunts and play in a band. Leave them be and they'll look back one day and cringe im sure. They'll learn and realise its not the way to go about bizniss. But I like the fact they have made a bit of a stir. Makes for good internet banter. I've witnessed them playing @ one of the Lemon Tree lunch time gigs and one of the the band members mums came up and asked my friend and I what we thought of the band ("errrm good??") . She seemed like a nice lady and Im sure she would not appreciate them shooting their mouths off and threatening people though. Sent to bed with no tea me thinks! On another note: Funniest tags ever. -
  5. They're great live so you might yet be convinced. Doing a couple of the NME tour dates and a gig or two supporting Mystery Jets in early 09. We'll get them up the road after that and see for yoursel -
  6. Nice couple of reviews there, cheers for that. -
  7. A one off night of crimbo capers, guilty pleasure tunes, mince pies, crackers, booze and good times. Party classics and festive floor filler dj sets from: Bones & Money Copy Haho Right Hand Left Dirty Hearts Club Let It Bleed and more... Leave any bullshit at the home and have a laugh...its Christmas. New jumper and socks from gran optional. -
  8. "There's not too much to get excited about in London of late (as if Londoners would ever allow themselves to do such a thing) but beaming through are the immaculate conception known as Stricken City. Full of wonderful - if odd - influences, like Life Without Buildings, The Sugarcubes and Bow Wow Wow, they shuffle timidly onstage and become complete, effortless pop stars. Led by a striking apparition known as Rebekah Raa, they make you feel a little bit sorry for every other band trying to get somewhere" - NME -
  9. She's not up her own arse. Just very shy thats all. -
  10. It was brilliant. A cold Monday night, it was rammed and people were up for it...Aberdeen you rule (at times). Dan and Pip were really glad to be back in Aberdeen and loved it. One of their best gigs this year. -
  11. Sorry, No Kid C. George Pringle is the support www.myspace.com/georgepringle worth a checking out for sure...just for her looks alone There'll be tickets available on the door tonight for the last min undecided among you. Its just over a year since Dan and Pip played @ ACTH @ The Lemon Tree. A gig which (as most ppl who were there will testify) has since gone down in legend as they pretty much tore the roof off. They have been keen to come back ever since and now they're here again...Its gonna be a good one. -
  12. What you talking about? It's a good review. And is correct. They do/did deserve a bigger crowd...or one that pays attention at least. There was over 250 people in the club when Findo played but no more that 30-45 were actually watching them. Aberdeen for you though innit. The majority of people dont give a shit unless its a band thats been rammed down their throats by Radio 1 or NME. It can be a thankless task promoting gigs with great new bands. Or a labor of love. (As many on here will appreciate) Of course 6 months down the line when everyone is jumping on the Findo bandwagon ... we'll be like..."yeah they played Moshulu aaaaages ago...where were you?" -
  13. Number one on the MTV 2 chart. Above Kings Of Leon, Oasis and The Killers CLICK HERE FOR FULL CHART (Correct as of date posted) -
  14. Theres a possibility he might be coming up. I find out for sure on Sat...fingerscrossed. Still sum tickets left @ One up and Ticketweb if folk wanna come down. There's been alot sold so should be a great gig. -
  15. Annnd the second support is: Connan Mockasin www.myspace.com/CONNANMOCKASIN -
  16. The cables shouldnt stick out of the bottom like that. The black cover should be under the clasp. Thats all 6!! Do we get a prize?!!! -
  17. Tickets now also available from One Up. And Micachu have been announce as main support. www.myspace.com/micayomusic
  18. Are you trying to tell me Ali G was wrong?!! He <3s the Math. "s" there you go.
  19. If this is Grampain Police attempting to "clean up" Aberdeen streets it just demonstrates how totally stupid and naive they are. The junkie scumbags who are creating the massive majority of drug related issues in the city dont go to bars and clubs. They're too busy robbing, scamming the dole, begging, having unwanted kids and fucking up communities to go to bars and clubs. And they're the real fuking issue that needs to be addressed!! Not, typically, middle class, full time job having 18-35 year olds who are out on a weekend spending they're hard earned wedge and fancy a line, a pill or a joint. These folk can afford to buy a gram or whatever. They're not out robbing, just a bit of recreational use for fun @ a weekend. Not criminals. Ok its against the law but there needs to be a sense of perspective. One of my friends is a defence lawyer and had a massive bitch at one of the chief Constables... Regarding the police clogging up the court system by prosecuting people who have a gram or a bit of weed on them...when they have full time, well paid jobs, educated, no previous, obviously no problem to the community...etc etc. A total waste of the police time, the courts and tax payers money. Can also totally ruin peoples lives. Its a joke. They need to get there priorities right. And if they think its drugs that causes the all the trouble on a Fri/Sat night? Then again they are idiots. The last thing ppl wanna do on drugs is fight. (well they typically dont with Es & weed. Sometimes folk get wound up on coke but usually they just wanna talk shit). Booze is by far the worst trouble starter. It's in venues, which are probably the most drug free, such as Jumping Jaks and Liquid who are the main offenders at providing our city center with its 3am Ricky Hattons. This drug testing machine cost 25000! On the first test they did 750 people were tested and only 2 people were caught with anything...thats like 0.13%!! And the Police PR dept issued a statement "Drug-detector trial hailed success" - honestly what the...?!! are they having a laugh?!! Do the math you tools! A whole night testing people, two/four cops taken off other duties, man hours and 25000 grand to catch 2 recreational users...well done *clap* *clap* *clap*. -
  20. This Monday folks. Some tickets still available from One up and Ticketweb. Should be a good 'een. -
