  1. You mean a band singing about how they formed a band? Even after looking at the lyrics section of their website' date=' I'm struggling to understand what you mean, unless the only other album you've heard is by Kraftwerk.[/quote']

well theyve got a song about how the singer is still in love with a girl he went out with when he was 15 but couldnt tell her and how nobody compares to her, they have song about erection problems, not many bands are big enough to write about that. The whole album tells a story aswell from when they start out forming a band and the ambitions they have, that every band has but they know fine they wont achieve. How sex drugs n rock n roll will fuck up your band. Its about growing up, going through puberty, forming a band and basically fucking up your life. It hits out at the bands who try n say they are so great when there really not and tells a realistic story rather than the fantasy one that band members want you to believe they live. Its also very light humered and the more you listen to it the more you understand and enjoy it.

Maybe single by single the songs are not genius but put together the album works brilliantly

  2. they're generally bands like rolling stones' date=' knopfler, bon jovi etc who DO put on a good show, but the physicality of their tiredness is minimal.

    ..[/quote']

yeah i saw bon jovi a few moons ago and they played for about 3 hours, cant remember if there was an encore

  3. it may be a great surprise for someones first ever gig who dont know anything about encores, also for bands that are good enough to get the crowd going really well, it gives them a chance for the crowd to calm down a bit, maybe tie their shoe laces etc. How come everything on this forum turns into heated arguments, yeah you are so stupid coz you think encores are good ideas, come on

  4. they're so stupidly predictable.

why do genuinely good bands continue to go through this corny routine of going off stage only to return in 3 minutes to play again? of course' date=' they always play that song they didn't play but you thought they'd play. it's rubbish! they're creative people, surely they can think of another way of exciting the crowd?[/quote']

gives them the chance to have a little break, talk about anything going wrong etc, have a drink, get back onstage if anything else

  5. That's a pretty strange comment - apart from the obvious money thang as a reason for touring how can you say they won't win over any new fans? Like no one's going to take friends' date=' children etc. that haven't really been into them previously to the gigs?[/quote']

would you pay over the odds to see a band that youve never been into? im not even saying that guns n roses are bad or anything like that, i just dont think its right that they should be touring and people are gullable enough to pay that amount of money to see them when everyone knows there only doing it for the money, wasnt me who brought up babyshambles in the first place coz to be fair its ridiculous comparing the two bands. Anyone actually going to the gigs or is this just another meaningless argument?

  6. Not at all but having your album being sold at bargain bin prices so soon after release can't be a good sign.

I'm not some fanatical G 'n' R fan by the way' date=' but I do like them and if they played Aberdeen would go out of interest as i'm sure loads of people on this forum would. Flick through the satellite music channels and you frequently see G 'n' R songs being shown, can't say I often see Babyshambles songs being played, even when they had singles out![/quote']

can also see loads of westlife and black eyed peas songs when you flick throught sky, so whats the argument, i like pop music more than you?

  7. Jeez' date=' don't cry, eh? I'm sure Pete will manage to survive even if he does get slagged off in a GNR thread.

While the current GNR is a joke, I can safely say that they are a bigger draw than P Doh!, as I like to call him - his recent gigs in Glasgow, Aberdeen & Edinburgh still won't get a much people as one night in the SECC.

If Pete could convert his tabloid notoriety into album & ticket sales then I'm sure he'd be selling out a tour of this magnitude and headlining a 60,000 person festival.[/quote']

im sure if pete took a bunch of randoms and called themselves the libertines it would sell out the secc just as quick, guaranteed

  8. Exactly the thought that goes through my mind every time a Babyshambles gig is announced in Aberdeen.

bet you theres loads more people on this forums went to see babyshambles than this joke, babyshambles have released an album in the last year and sold over 100,000 copies, babyshambles are currently recording their new ep, guns n roses are nothing nowadays

  9. the pints were being thrown at the guy that is being charged' date=' he was being an arse and winding up the casuals and neds so they started throwing pints at him there was coins bouncing off the walls as well.[/quote']

yeah he was a complete knob like

  10. dunno about bebo but i use myspace to get a hold of small bands songs and to find out about their gigs n stuff without going on everyones website individually each day. I think its a really good idea for bands
