nice one

just home from seeing captain and it was exactly the same, most of the ppl were there to see the support bands and didnt seem to take on captain. The guy did an acoustic solo and you could hardly hear him, shame because captain were amazing

If you want to take some kind of vigilante action against ringing mobile fones in gigs that you go to' date=' buy a handheld GSM jammer. They are fairly expensive, but models under 200 quid are available and pretty effective.
I'm surprised venues themselves don't use them for situations like live acoustic gigs. (edit: oh yeah, probably because they are illegal in the UK)[/quote']
and pub quizzes

how can people remember what there drinking when there pished, i dont want to face up to reality and count, it will scare me too much, ah fuck it here we go.
em, an average week without gigs or summer holidays, bank holidays etc would consist of 3 nites of drinking.
Wed nite, head to triple kirks about 7, normally football on so say 4 - 6 beers during that, 9pm kicks in and its 1 for vodka red bull, normally spend about 30 for the nite so thats probs about 20 vodkas, (my mate did go to the bar and buy 26 the other week). Friday nights start about 7 in my house, say there will be four of us there, well buy 2 litres of vodka and various bottles of juice. Finish that about 11 say and head to exodus where its normally 2 vodka lemonades each round and a couple of shots (not many) now and then. Saturdays depend if i have football which i normally have. Finish our game and head to our bar at 4 where we get free food. Have a pint or 2 there then head home. The cavalry come round again about 7 (just in time for deal or no deal) and the two bottles of vodka are bought again, head to exo again and do the same. Sunday mornings depend on how drunk we are and what footballs on. Head to triple kirks for about 1pm and have a few pints, unless im working at night where ill have pints of pepsi.
I know this is quite alot of alcohol and i cant say im proud of it, people will think its sounds repetitive buy why stop doing things that you really like to do.
Booked my holiday now and exams are kicking in so im gonna cut down, away out to see captain but not gonna drink. Roll on summer

i'll never forgett mr chillie at faust... after about half an hour os "SHHHHHHH!" he eventually stood up and shouted "SHUT THE FUCK UP" made me laugh. nevertheless' date=' he has a point, every remotley-accoustic-ee gig i have been to lately have been spoiled by folk chatting too loudly, and generally not being intereasted.
after reading threads like this about every tryptichtchtchythicht(or however you spell it) gig, i am glad i didnt waste my money going to them
something really has to be done about this, as it is ruining gigs for the majority of people who actually care about the music.[/quote']
the crowd for long blondes was pretty good

its not, anyone got yet, think ill pop by the box office
-
almost 100% will be phil scolari the current portugal manager and former brazil coach.
personally i'm in favour of this' date=' i don't care where the coach comes from as long as the team do well and he's got experience of winning a world cup with brazil...more than peter taylor or any of the other god-awful english managers that were mentioned can say...many of them hadn't even won a league title![/quote']
this is not good, hes a good manager, not what we want at all
-
-
I might pop along to this' date=' aye. Pretty good at Kef when they were last up but I dunno if they have the songs to pull off a whoel hour-long set or so?
And yes, music hall morons.[/quote']
they do a cracking cover of be my baby
-
seen them twice at the nme tour, hopefully will get a ticket for one big weekend, t in the park then aberdeen, nice at least 5 times in one year
-
this is really good news, think it will sell out pretty quick
-
I was glad to read that' date=' feared I'd missed out on the LBs who I enjoyed twice in London. Thought it would be Sold Out considering they won the NME Radar prize and I heard they're lining up a deal with Rough Trade[/quote']
there signed now
-
yeah its completely different bumping into an artist, having a drink with them etc then get their signature rather than just queue for ages to get it. Your signed things should have a story to them. Ive met quite alot of bands, spent hours drinking with them but dont have their signatures, except carl barats. However saying that i wouldnt have minded staying outside moshulu to have a jam with pete doherty (awaits the usual abuse that follows after his name is mentioned).
