I don't think we did as far as i can remember we have never played the same song twice at any gig but i could also be mistaken.
  3. It just depends on the person i think, some people can get used to other cars more quickly than others, even thought i haven't been driving for long i have had to get used to a few different cars. I started off driving a Small Transit van, and also driven a pug 206 and megane, and now driving an L200, its good experience if you can drive a few different cars before you pass your test, just incase you have to change cars at short notice before your test as i did. i think alot of people are worried that they cant drive other cars e.g. learnt in a corsa i wont be able to drive any other type of car, you know that frame of mind, not saying it applies to everyone though, alot of people complain about the clutch, my advice is when you get in a new car just sit in it with the engine running in first gear with the handbrake on (obviously) and just lift the clutch up and down until you get a feel for the height of the bit point on the car. As for instructors using Dual controls, there is nothing you can do to stop them doing that, just hope your instructor only uses them when they need, or as a last resort, during the six months of my learning to drive my instructor only used the dual controls twice, thought that was quite good in my opinion.

I have just made a myspace account for my band, its very basic at the moment, but it has one of our songs on it. If you could spare a few minutes to have a listen and let me know what you think, i would appreciate it very much. www.myspace.com/junkdust Cheers Steve

  7. Didn't realise you were playing the lucntime gig might come down and and see you play if i am not bogged down at work, you would of thought i would be more in touch with what bands are playing. steve
  8. Thanks very much for the advice, and that is not mean in a sarcastic undertone, i am thankful for the advice, the person in question was someone who i thought was indeed a mature person, who appreciated all types of music, i unfortunatly did sink to his level and got in a pissing contest, which i know regreat. Cheers steve
  9. I don't mind constructive Critasism, that can help towards being a better band, but just slagging of your band with no reasoning behind it what so ever seems wrong to me. I will be the first one to admit the band i am in is not the as good as it could be at the moment be we are working on that, but then what band can ever say the are 100% with everything they do.
  10. we have played The Tunnels, Drummonds, and the Lemon Tree, a mixture of boht weekend nights and weekdays. Yet to play moshulu, i have been meaning to drop a demo in for ages.
  11. Maybe I should report the whole story i couldn't be bothered before, but i suppose i should really. It started when i met someone who is going out with with someone i know, who is also in a band, and i told him that i didn't really like the kind of music his band played but thats just what i think, and he said i don't really like the kind of music i played, thats fair enough, end of it you would think. then tonight i was talking to him on MSN and he starts hurling abuse at me about my band and how shite he thinks we are, and it all got a bit nasty in the end. I just didn't like the fact he was taking the piss out of us, and his band have only been together for 3 months, and never played a gig in aberdeen. and we have been playing gigs in aberdeen for a year, granted not big gigs, but people are noticing us, surly if my band was as bad as he says it is, we wouldn't be getting gigs. i just thought he was being stupid and contradicting himself considering his band has never played aberdeen.
  12. Just wondering what you all thought about people who admit they don't like a certain band or a certain type of music, but refuse to keep their negative opinions to themselves. I have no problem with people coming upto me after playing a gig, and saying that wasn't to my taste, but well done anyway, that sort fo thing, but why do some people insist on saying to you over and over again, your band is shit, your band is shit, your band is shit over and over agian you get the message. This makes me very angry, especially when another person from another band calls you shit over and over again, you would think that they would have some respect for you seeing as they should know how difficult it is to keep on going in a band. Any thoughts People? P.S. sorry for the spelling mistake in the title.
  13. Very well put, i thought my life was going to end when the examiner said "sorry steven but you have failed" But it just made me want it more.
  14. Let me put your mind at rest, it is not all that bad failing first time round, i did and i am glad i did to some degree cause i knew what to expect the second time round, alot of people fail first time. I found that since i really wanted to pass my test first time cause i live in the middle of nowhere aswell, that it made me appreciate having my full license now, i am one of the most careful young drivers out their i have been, that was until some arse decided to ram his car into the back of mine while it was parked up and not leave a note or anything, but thats a whole other story. The point is seing as i passed second time, and now realise how difficult it was for me to pass, i don't find myself speeding, or driving stupidly, as some fo my friends have found to their cost its a whole load easier to lose you license than it is to get in the first place. hope that makes you feel a bit better, and remember when you do pass, don't do anything to put your license at risk, thats your freedom, that little pink card. Steve
  15. Good show on trying to start a grunge band, im in one myself and i think there should be more out there. So the best of luck to you and hope you do well. Steve
  16. I second that it did indeed say "stiff for kids", but have clearly realised their horrible mistake.
  17. Sorry People who were expecting to see Des Jure, hope we keep you entertained as much as they would of done.
  18. Just point out that the 25th is WEDNESDAY and seeing how its UFB THURSDAY LIVE you get what i am pointing out here and i hope i am correct in saying i am playing on Thursday the 26th.
  19. It could be worth it, i will give it a try all thought i don't think anything will turn up, all my mates are on the look out so i should catch who ever did it its only a matter of time, but the thing i am really pissed off about is that my insurance is going up because the arse that did it didn't have the balls to hang around to own up.
  20. There was a brown coloured paint like substance on the rear, but the police didn't know if it was paint of rust unfortunatly due to the weather it has started to rust over now, i think the person/s responsible for it have something to hide, like they were drunk or unisured or their car was not fit for the road, cause there no bit parts of either vehicle on the tarmac it was cleaned up, only tiny tiny bits were still there when i returned. The police have been round the garages in alford already nothing, the thing is it would of had to been a rather tall vehicle like another pick up truck or a van to do damage to my car judging by the height the damage started at.
  21. Quite the opposite the police jumped on it, i checked and asked all round where it was parked no one saw anything, the police went to alford themselves to ask around and have a look but they couldn't figure anything out either.
  22. Yeah i called the police and they great also, they took a statement, but there wasn't much they could about it, if i remeber correctly they came round to my house at about 1 in the morning.
